I took your advice and tried fairing. Had same problem. Difference was I removed outer fairing. It has 6 Allen heads holding it on. If you don't have windshield on fairing. I loosen brackets that they use to slide windshield on bike. Brackets are slotted on bottom bolt and top bolt is used as pivot. I moved brackets forward and fairing fit right on. Fairing has more than enough clearance

thanks! i ride almost every day and i constantly use the bluetooth to the radio to play spotify. not a single issue thus far with the radio or the fairing.
thanks. i really miss that bike. i traded it off last fall for a road glide. some days i regret doing it. as for the fairing durability...zero issues. that thing looked to me to be pretty robust. matter of fact, surprisingly the dealer gave me a little extra trade-in because of it.
