Such a show stopping creature I’ll never forget the first time I heard a migratory male Baltimore oriole singing in the mid spring on a cloudy cool day I honestly thought my next door neighbors children got hold of one of those yellow plastic canary water whistles from the vintage Looney Tunes cartoons . It was almost as if the children were standing in our shared driveway blowing the music into my basement window. Finally I HAD TO GO OUTSIDE and see where these kids were hiding only imagine my surprised joy when I looked up in the tree to see and hear that divine oriole singing the notes of heaven I’ll remember that day with joy until I’m no longer living surely.
