It’s probably best to permanently shut down the RT before something catastrophic happens.
It’s a shame the decision makers refused to do anything to improve the RT for the past 20 years. We could have purchased some used SkyTrain, or convert it to a streetcar line.
Anything is better than 7+ years of shuttle buses.

conversion or buying new rolling stock is hard and expensive..
@@thefellows8484 Of course it’s hard and costly at this point due to lack of investment over the years. But if we maintained it and upgrade the trains like we should, it can run forever.
But it’s too late at this point.

37 years of Scarborough RT, the City planned to shut down ops by Nov. 19, 2023, but now, I will not be surprised if the City will do this much sooner.
I've been using this line since 2002, and because of what happened, I feel its not safe to ride this anymore.
And now you know why the SRT is ending service. Although this would speed it up
#3 Shuttle buses are going to clog up Midland, Brimley, Ellesmere, and Eglinton starting now till 2030. Great. 🙄

TTC Line 3 Scarborough RT is over 40 years old, badly in need of new equipment. This line just happened to have died a premature death due to aging trains cars. Best for the TTC to simply shut down the line permanently an rely on buses to transport the passengers into Scarborough. BTW, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth is the same age and uses outdated trains on its lines. Looks like this cross-city line could fail next with more disastrous results as these trains are fast usually running at 50kph when they go in the tunnels.
I think they’re faster than 50kph

37 years of Scarborough RT, RIP R.T. We will miss it! It is closing November 19th 2023 permanently until 2030. But because of the derailments, line 3 isn’t running anymore 😢. 5 passengers were injured and 45 passengers were in derailments. Now because of that derailment, I’m too afraid to take this line because I could cause injury and not safe to be reopened. Line 3 opened in 1985. I’ve been using this line since 2016 and Now line 3 shuttle buses are running. Divisions: McNicoll, Malvern, Eglinton, Wilson, Queensway, Birchmount. (1985-2023)

No obviously the TTC doesn’t want people to see how their garbage train fell apart, look at the security guards hired to make sure no one gets near the fence lol
Very reassuring that the TTC CEO says that safety is paramount at the TTC in everything they do 😂

How on earth did this short distance lightrail train syatem got derailed when it's a very slow moving train. This SRT also useless or even worse during winter months when it's snowing light or heavy. Very inconvenient for thousands of TTC SRT users.
I took line 3 LRT a few times. I have very very good ears and usually I can hear something is not good in the engine. I heard the noise of the engine when I was in the train of line 3, I had a bad feeling. The sound of engine made me feel bad, and the the cabin was shaking a little bit. ,😲😲

Probably lack of maintenance, worn rail, out of gauge, or operator . TTC has a bunch of people working there with little to no experience in track..
Will they blame the driver, injured people will seek compensation? It could possibly be shutdown for good and shuttle buses run.

Blue box cars on scarborough line. I saw the axle at the back of the car. The railing ride looked good nothing out of place. Maybe nobody checked ever the frame bolts attaching the axle to the car.

These train is built and design at Millhaven, Ontario back in 1983
Chinese trains are better than this.
I get this is a joke, but these trains are actually Canadian made. Here in Ontario by a crown corporation from the province.
