Had to cut some 1" plate a couple weeks ago and boy did I struggle. Switched to the torch to get it done. I just learned I likely pushed too fast. Going to retry with slower travel speed just for my own education...always learning. Thanks again, Stretch, for continuing to teach us!
holly cow what a beast. idk if my 625 can even hang i never needed to cut anything over 1/2" so idk its true capabilities. needless to say if i did not have a plasma cutter id be gravitating straight towards this beast of a machine. very noice sir
The new smart sync consumables are ridiculously expensive we changed over to all of them at our shop 15 of them but the gouging tips are way better than the old style
We learned about Plasma Cutting this week and our book (which supposedly follows NCCER) claims for THICKER metals you may need to angle the Torch a bit because the deeper the cut goes, the narrower it gets, leading to angled cuts instead of square. Our instructor claims that's not true. What are your thoughts? Also, I've found a good number of your videos helpful so far! Thank you!
during your 1" plate test, would it make just as much sense starting at a 45 degree angle slowly cutting into your lead in when starting outside of the cutting parameters? Just a thought, lmk as im intending to buy one this black friday. thanks.
Just WOW! Thanks for the video. I have an older and less powerful Powermax 350 and have trouble just severing 3/8 even at slow travel speed, so your video has convinced me I'm doing something really wrong. Air pressue maybe (higher pressure better, right)?
@@officialweldingfarmingarch2041 Nah...all brand new, and checked swirl ring and air (dry). I think it must be the pressure (something I've never understood when it comes to fine tuning, if that is important). No worries, we'll get it.

I'm definitely getting one as soon as I can afford one 😊

Nice cutting

What model of plasma cutter are you using? And the parts you were talking about in the video?
Looks like a hypertherm 45amp

Could be, might just need new consumables
