    Great looking dome. Don't see any special hubs or connectors though, and wonder if it is that stable and wind-resistant as it could be.

      @rod luftalchemist thanks! It has a simple reciprocating fastening method. It’s incredibly stable and wind resistant. There have been some crazy windstorms in their area since the dome has been up and it has no issues. After this build I stood on the very peak and jumped up and down and there is zero flex.

    This looks fantastic, how does it handle the wind/winter storms?

      Thank you. These domes are incredibly strong against inclement weather. They are inherently aerodynamic, so they don’t catch much wind to begin with. When properly anchored to the earth, there’s not much that could damage them.

      In order of highest quality down - patco 8210, siga wigluv black, protape 160, greenhouse repair tape!

    My dad has been wanting to build one of these for a long time and has been doing a lot of research to try to figure out. His big question is where do you measure the angles from? Like, how do you plan the cuts?

      There is A LOT of information out there and it took me many years to get a good system down. I design all my domes from scratch in 3D CAD. I have plans on my website for my most popular designs that includes all specs, tool list, materials list, and an illustrated step-by-step guide to building a dome design efficiently and inexpensively.

      @@JohnGuest45 it was known as the GoodKarma method of building before Paul came along. And yes I hear your concerns. It’s very important to use a very high quality flashing tape and maintain it. If you have one layer of sheeting, you will have condensation in a greenhouse, period. You can mitigate these risks by spraying tea tree oil on the timber every so often to prevent mold and rot. But a wood framed greenhouse is just that at the end of the day. Wood doesn’t last forever in an extremely hot and humid environment unless meticulously refinished. However, for the price of materials you can get a very long life out of this design. There are many virtues to the design as opposed to others however.
      Additionally, if you choose to cover the dome in polycarbonate you will not have condensation issues at all. It’s a matter of cost, priorities and acceptable tolerances.

      @@JohnGuest45 The pease method is effectively the same concept. Also the method in that video you linked is much much more complicated than it needs to be!
      Anyways, not sure what this conversation is leading to anymore. Greenhouses condensate, period.

      @@JohnGuest45 I’ve never had those issues. And I don’t cut any of my joints by hand. It’s all done with jigs on the saw. But you’d know that if you would have looked at my plans and build method before talking down about them 🤷‍♀️ I’ve built domes with plywood and polycarbonate already attached with no issues. Sounds like you’ve found the method that suits you though!

      @@JohnGuest45 hey man that sounds really rad! I work up all my domes from scratch so it’s not just a copy paste situation. Most people don’t have the time or willpower to learn how to do everything from scratch and sift through all the terrific and terrible info online. I would love to see your latest dome when it’s done, it sounds incredible!

    Lovely design man! I was wondering about the panels did you built them yourself? (Since they seem preassembled in here?) Also what about insulation? What materials are used here. Just wondering sincr where I live winter are cold and I would love to have crops growing all year round. Cheers! 🙏

      I saw from some northerner that he actually put tanks of water (50 gallon drum) and put as many as you can facing the northern wall to retain the thermal energy every day for the night and that helps regulate temps
