Hopefully India opens up to crypto, there is ETF in USA , middle east is open, Singapore is doing well. Why is India always behind ? Its technology and its better to keep things open and encourage start ups to operate from India and make billions etc.

high GST rate and goverment constraining cash supply is going to help create a crypto economy in India. Instead of saying pay in cash (28% discount due to not paying GST), now they will say pay in crypto. Crypto can be globally used and goverment will have no control over it.
One more use case is election funding, with election bonds abolished, now money will flow in via crypto and no courts can ask source of funds as its truly anonymous.

Wasn't Crypto's assumed to be an asset in the first place ? Just like Stocks, Real estates etc...CBDC is just digital version of fiat money. instead of paper, people would move on to digital holding literally for all transactions. The value of CBDC will still be the same as it's monitored and supply will be controlled by the Central Banks.

In Tamilnadu villages Bitcoin is penetrated, the insurance agent's is promoting bit coins, I don't know whether it's legal in countries, I think it's Illegal in India.

Tech behind bitcoin ie blockchain is great but bitcoin itself is intangible and based on a closed virtual economy where entry and exits are controlled by govt. Etf will be to bitcoin what gold etf is to gold.
Small players will find it hard to make money on it.
I cannot see bitcoin being a store of value unless conversion into transactional value happens seamlessly
transaction of value is seamless in peer-to-peer networks. There's nothing any government can do about it at any meaningful scale. Regarding the viability of Bitcoin being a store of value... it's literally the best-performing asset over more than a decade. Although there will be diminishing returns as the market cap goes up. Still, it's the only liquid asset with absolute scarcity, that cannot be debased by arbitrary printing. Its stock-to-flow ratio will become better than gold (which has an approximately 2% annualized supply inflation) after the current halving (supply cut) around April 2024. Add to the fact it has none of the defects of gold. It's easy and cheap to verify (you can run the node software on your own computer) and highly portable across borders.
Regarding ETF's: it's less ideal to hold than self-custody in own wallet/cold-storage. But it does open the asset up to institutional flow which was locked out. In any case, majority of coins will still be held outside of these etf's for a long time.
