Hey everyone. A day late with my weekly posting due to broadband issues 😕. This was a job I carried out the same time last year, but thought i'd lost some of the footage (any of you that follow me on instagram may recognise it)
I was really annoyed at myself for losing a lot of the footage, and that I wasn't able to show it last year, as recording these videos, repositioning the camera, changing the batteries over etc, can really add time to any job, so just felt like a huge waste of time when I thought I couldn't post it.
But.....after going through some of my old files recently, I found the missing footage mixed in with an old roof cleaning video, woohoo, I can now post the video! Better late than never.
So this this is quite good timing, and follows on quite nicely from last weeks video, another graffiti removal job using an Ibix media blaster. This job shows what I was trying to achieve before i had to bring in the Ibix. I wonder if any of you will notice that i'm over the other side of the train tracks to where I recently cleaned the Ibix Video?

Nick...I think the black graffiti took more effort due to several things. The PRANG graffiti was sprayed on at a distance, therefore less concentration of actual paint. The black graffiti was sprayed on at close range, and the paint more concentrated. Regardless, you came in and did the job!!! 🌟Always complete the job as requested!!! The sad part is...they will probably have re- tagged those locations within a month. And....gloves, Nick. Great video. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I agree with you on the black graffiti.. pigment load, colour (black is a stronger pigment) and surface penetration would be contributing factors.

Hey Sir Nick, I walked the tunnel this morning to catch the Metro. It looks like the walls on the pedestrian side of the tunnel were "Hammered" there are big holes in the cement walls all down the tunnel and it also looks like they slap dash painted down the spray paint. Whomever they've got cleaning might not like their job. The entire length of the tunnel wall is chipping and crumbling apart. There is green grass above a portion of the tunnel and a roadway over the other half. Now we wait to see how long it takes the tunnel to get tagged once again.
When it comes to pressure washing everyone else is 2nd to you. The jobs you do are always so professional no matter the effort. Thanks for sharing!!

Such nice work 😊 Grafftity removal is especially satisfying, since I hate them very much. These are very good examples for that they have no real meaning at all, just blind vandalism... I can't even read the third one properly oô And the first one, 'prang', what do they mean, a car crash?? At least the dictionary suggests something like that...
The black and the white one had thicker paint than the purple one, so quite some effort was needed, but that doesn't stop Magic Nick 🎉

The black paint has a darker pigment than the purple/blue one, which is why it took more work to remove it… these videos are very satisfying, Nick… I like the graffiti and jet washing different things.
yeah, that black paint was on thicker too. Plus I don't think all the traffic grime would have helped either as once cleaned it was noticeably brighter - similar to the rear walls. 👍

Good work on removing that graffiti. I actually used the word "prang" once in conversation when I saw a small plane come down hard and bend its landing gear at a private airport ("He really pranged that gear"). It's not a commonly-used word here in the US, though and I don't actually recall where I learned its meaning. My great uncle flew bombers out of England during WWII so I might have heard it from him.

A different kind of paint could be why it was harder? The purple looked "rushed" so not as thick/pigmented?

The second one was probably so hard because it was black paint, not quite the same thing but I remember when the kids had been 'painting' at school almost crying when I saw black or red paint on their Clothes it was always a nightmare and sometimes impossible to get it all out 😢 super clean bit of wall by the time you had finished tho 😂😂

You're so skillful, there's nothing you can't clean 😊 Now, those "graffiti artists" don't usually give up, unfortunately. I would just paint the lower bricks charcoal; it looks beautiful, and being a dark colour, if it happens again, you just need to paint it over, no sweat.

Side note, did you have to do specific training to use these chemicals or can almost anyone use them?
I think some of the work you’ve done has been council etc so I imagine they’d be pretty hot on certificates etc.

Hi Sir Nick. Have you rechecked the wall you did last to see if the taggers returned?? Prang - to collide with; bump into. To destroy or severely damage by a bombing raid; bomb (an enemy target). As the great Ann Richardson is apt to say "Start the Clock !!" Maybe removing the paint has to do with the type of spray paint it is, maybe the color, depending on what they put into certain colors, that might make removing said paint a little harder to do??
