I attended Lakeridge from 1988 to 1991 and it was the worst experience of my life. My family moved to Lake Oswego and the other students made it pretty clear that I was an outsider. I had been an honor roll student with a 3.9 gpa at my previous school. After all the bullying from fellow students and some teachers I was lucky to graduate. I'd find my textbooks ripped and torn into pieces or my gym clothes ripped and thrown all over the locker room. The verbal threats from the other students had me constantly afraid. I was just the new kid trying to fit in. How was I supposed to excel? I had dreams of being a doctor when I was that age. Lakeridge destroyed me. I thought about suicide every week for nearly three years.
