    My Father purchased a 1967 Martin D-35 Brazilian Rosewood guitar for me when I was just eleven years old. That Martin D-35 is still by my side today along with several other Martin's. Martin is by far one of the best guitars that I have had the pleasure of playing for the past fouty-five years of my life. You see the pride in Chris Martin IV to Dick with Artist Relations right down to the amazing Artists that build these amazing instruments. Great in-depth look at American Pride.

    I have had several Martins over the years and they have all been very well made instruments. I want to tour their factory one of these days when I get the time. Wish I could work there!!

    I was proud to be an owner of a martin guitar before I watched all these videos but now im even prouder, the dedication that goes into the guitar making process is exceptional, I have a DCX1E and as far as martin guitars goes I suppose at £800 at the time of purchase it was relatively cheap but the thing plays like a beauty and I swear the sound is getting better over time.
    I love my martin, there products are timeless and faultless, keep up the good work.

    I've spent 4/5ths of my life playing guitar. From this point on every guitar I buy will be a Martin. I have a 1979 D-35 that is a cannon, if I need it to be. But, it is at it's best when I play it fingerstyle. Such a lovely sound. Well balanced and earthy. Organic, if you will. Thus my username since I've been on You Tube.

    You're right ... I had a $5,000.00 Gibson I bought 5 years ago (I sold it!!) - Now I have a $875.00 Martin and it sounds ten time better than the Gibson ever did. (Both are acoustic-Electric)

    My friend and I just took the tour of the factory on Monday. It's amazing how much work goes into the making of their guitars. I had just bought a DX-1AE model for Christmas. And yes I did know it was made in Mexico, I did my homework while looking for a guitar. I played a lot of guitars in my price range($500) and just liked the way it played. The quality seems to be up to the Martin name. It doesn't have a lot of fancy extras, but I just wanted a nice sound for the money. Besides the factory tour, they have a great museum with an amazing number of historical guitars. Also off of the gift shop, they have a room with a number of great guitars which you can play. For any guitar player, I think it would be interesting to take the tour. The sound of guitars are different for everybody, which ever sounds good to you is the right one.

      Mans Oldford I learned how to play at the age of 5 years old. It was a J200 hand made by craftsmen before they started production of them. My understanding is they hand crafted about 5 j200's before production.

    @TheXXXDB Not really. They make top quality instruments with extreme care given to fit, finish, sound and playability. I own a D28 for about 20 years now and it just keeps getting better. There's a lot more to building an instrument than the type of wood and glue you use. Martin has proven that many times. Check their museum for examples of multi-wood and synthetic material instruments. There is a reason people pay that much money for a fine instrument. Do some homework.

    "Austria then emerged into the 19th century as the Austrian Empire, a part of the German Confederation until the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, after which Austria continued as the Austro-Hungarian Empire. When this empire collapsed in 1918, Austria was reduced to the main German speaking areas corresponding to its current frontiers and adopted the name German Austria."

    they're guitars are made in the USA and not in a factory in asia somewhere where people earn a fraction of what someone in the states makes. that's where the price comes from.

    He mention Martin and the Spanish American war but never mentions the Civil War. Seems a bit strange, to me anyway. I'd be interested to know about Martins history during the War. Did they try and stay neutral or support one side or the other ? Put money into the war effort ? I'm a Canadian and don't know as much about the Civil War as most Americans I suppose but Penn was a Union state I believe. Where the Moravian sect like the Amish of Pennsylvania and did not believe in war and fighting? I'm getting sidetracked I know from a great documentary but it makes me wonder.

    i recently bought a agibson j185 and a martin hd-28,,,,they both suck . I might was unlucky and bought dud ones. Crazy thing is my 85's yamaha 441bl FG destroys both of them, adding to the insult when i was in the US i played every high end acoustic there was , an hd28 and an ovation were the only that impressed me but still the crappy yamaha destroyed all of them. TRUE STORY

    • @rawmark
      @rawmark 7 лет назад +1

      I don't know how you could buy a dud Martin. I suspect that HD28 was not the right guitar for you. Sometimes what sounds great to one person sounds horrible to another. So your mistake was buying the guitars without trying out others, or in your case, buying them at all since you had no others to test out.

    @TheXXXDB Yeah, do your homework. Nice resume wherever you made it up from. Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about. You can play on any hundred buck ax and make noise, but to get a quality instrument you need craftsmanship. Martin, Gibson and Taylor are factories that have figured out how to make them right without contracting a custom luthier for twice the amount. If you can't hear that you have a tin ear which explains why you haven't done better.

      Dev9172 He mentions the street fights and crimes that were in the area. I never heard him say anything about black people. Actually, he was talking about all people. You don't see any banks in the middle of the ghetto do you? There's a reason for that.
