Me: does 25km and 3600m of elevation Also Me: can't move my legs for 2 days Kilian: does 60km and 7500m of elevation Also Kilian: "Not that far. Nice Training" :D
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Quincy Finnley thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I just started laughing hysterically by the music choice from 1:43 and how this crazy endeavour is framed as a playful event, haha! Looks like fun, if you are Kilian.
I was following along quite enthusiastically until around 3'55" when it started to get a bit scary.. Then at 4'40" a miracle happens and he is safe again...
Righttttt I wanted to see him navigate that hard part cause it looked like he was stuck with nowhere to go. Then edit and bam he’s safe on top again. Wtf
Always so awesome to see you move through the mountains Kilian. It make me think there needs to be an equivalent title for the mountains of "Waterman." For anyone who doesn't know the Waterman title is for those who can surf big waves to small, do other water sports (sup, kiteboard, windsurf, etc), fish, and sail (and/or open water paddle). Kai Lenny being one of the premier examples of a Waterman.
Very impressive and what a nice place! So you've got trail running shoes that are lever crampon compatible and stiff enough that the crampons don't roll off while you're climbing. Are they custom made for you? Please be careful Kilian, after Ueli Steck and David Lama we don't want to lose another one of our super heroes!
Kilian: I am tired, ha, when completing 60km with 7500m. Me: I am tried, ha, when doing nothing and thinking about a race in 2021 with this youtube clip.
Amazing as always! While I enjoy watching your movement through the mountains, I also have just as much appreciation for seeing the gear you use and how you modify it to best suit your needs. I am impressed you have gotten the Leverlock binding to fit on your running shoes. I need to be more patient and try to get mine to fit on my running shoes. Also, which white hoody is that? I can't find it on the Salomon site and it looks superb! Thank you as always for sharing!
Kilian, you're incredible! I'm dying to know more about what must be the smallest and lightest 'ice tool/axe' in the world. Is that available for purchase somewhere?!? Gracias!
lightest with certification (apt for climbing) are the idol from ice rock or the Blue Ice Hummingbird. Then like here I just cutted a upper part of a axe to use-it as a knife, but it is not homologated anymore
according to the picture he posted on twitter it looks like the Salomon Supercross Blast to me (all white). But he must have added kind of a lip or something to the heel, because he's using the Petzl Irvis Hybrid crampons which only work with a lip.
I'm interested in your crampon setup. They look like the Petzl Irvis Hybrids, but with the strap system of the Leopards? How do they fit with your trail runners? I've always felt side slippage with the Leopards while traversing. The cord system would also loosen as the shoe flexes making the crampon shift under foot. What is your experience with this set up?
This is impressing, Kilian! I know several of this summits, and this is not an easy run if you do not know the area. I guess @500fjell gave you some tips on the paths and shortcuts. Anyway, great video!
I saw Sondre’s post about when he did it and look at the map but I didn’t want to know too much ( like read the climbing descriptions or that) so it was more “discovering” than just follow the indications.
I have a question: in the video we see that you use semi-auto crampons, so your shoes need to have a notch in the back, which model are these? These also have to be very rigid for not moving and flexing inside the crampons, that would be dangerous, i didn't know exists a shoe with these characteristics for running (or maybe i should call it speed mountaineering)
Hi also ran in Hurrungane on friday (didn't see you), but only did Storen. Looking at the range around and wondering if it was possible to do all the tops and ridges there in one day. So thanks for fast answer to that, then we have a Strava route for next summer :) Which length on the rope did you use and only for abseil or did you find it necessary for the climbing as well going the route clockwise as you did?
Yes, +1500m or 5000ft elevation in Southern Norway is having glaciers and everlasting frost, only global warming will slowly and surely change it, Northern Norway seems a lot colder as I visited there one month ago.
Aúpa Kilian, are u training for road marathons?? Nice series u did in those roads? ;-) Egurre!! It'll be nice to see you in Zegama Maratoia 2021!!! Stay safe man!
Quina pasada de lloc!! Mol tecnic i mol guapo!!!
Inspiring stuff killian! Thanks so much for sharing. I'd be super interested in a small debrief/post mortem after! What went right, what went wrong, what gear you wish you had and didn't? What gear you didn't need but took? Thanks again!
Well, being there for the first time I get "lost" many times, like taking to many gendarmes on the ridge or not the best-easiest way...but that's what I wanted! And in terms of gear, it was more snow than expected so probably I would took the sense s-lab softground and a pair of crampons I have with overboots to not get wet feets, but anyway I'm injured so I needed the cushoning of the sense ride... Otherwise, I used all the gear (the cams sling not but that's something I take when going onsight to a place I don't even know the dificulties) and didn't miss anything.
Hei Killian, quick question about the cam's sling, is this just to protect a short difficult step you are soloing? like a daisy chain but with a dynamic sling or is this for another unexpected emergency. @@Kilianjornet
Yes, I'm using the sense ride 3 (because I love the grip and because now that I'm injured I prefer to go "safe" with more cushoning than a sense s-lab softground that I would have used if not injured) I use a petzl irvis hybrid crampon, it doesn't works normally but pushing really hard it enters well (with big preasure in the calcaneous) and with a good technique of 10 pointes and being carrefuly it works.
@08:27 kilian was like he just tired from doin some groceries and still drives home. Compared to most of us normal people, probably sleeping inside the car, dead tired, while someone drives us home😁💪 What Salomon shoes are those, Kilian?
@Quincy Finnley it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass :D
@Oscar Dallas you are welcome xD
My heart rate watching at 4:31 probably higher than Kilian's was.
If Kilian is tired you know that's a hard and long trail jeje
I just started laughing hysterically by the music choice from 1:43 and how this crazy endeavour is framed as a playful event, haha! Looks like fun, if you are Kilian.
its always a pleasure to watch kilian's films. so inspiring

His wife: Where have you been the last 10 hours???
Kilian: Oh I did a little walk in Hurrungane 😂
Next level. Love this guy.
I can do that trip twice Kilian. Easy stuff...expecially the part on the black snow!
3:13 i'm feeling dizzy watching this... be careful Kilian

Awesome day! There aren't very many videos that I watch more than once, but yours I often watch multiple times.
when you don't have to pack a bike lock and your ride is there when you get back :D

At 4.20 I thought your are calling it off to get down that steep and then you went brave. Simply great Lilian 🙌🏞️

And I really like what you do and I respect you a lot, you use siperwiew or wide white your gopro?

Incrível Kilian!!! ⛰🤘👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷
Speechless
How much food did you take on the adventure? And how much did you eat after? ;)
15 gels ( maurten 100) and 1,5 L of water. After I did eat a sandwich and the day after I ate normal.
Incredible but to risky for me 😅
I rather do trails around here in the Pyrenees. Beautiful landscapes that's for sure 💯👍

Inside joke. Goldblatt, He's got one!
What do you do whith your "two-friends rope"? 🤔
to protect a step, it is useful when going alone in a unknown place, so you can "belay" yourself to do a hard steep or to inspect the route...
He is nuts.
