Unironically my favorite Souls-type game. Going co-op with an A.I. companion as well makes it by far the easiest in the genre and gives you room for all kinds of fun. Great game.
Ah yes I remember the hyper aggro of Blade Bearer. Honestly drawing her aggro at all costs and moving to the other side of the arena out of Cannoners range was the best bet I had for dealing with her, just unleashing combo moves and gifts was the best bet I had. I think my build off the top of my head was... Blood code: Váli Weapons: the Executioner and Libertador Arts: Dancing Fireblade, overdrive, concentration, merciless reaper, blow of madness, Phantom Assault, Severing Abyss, and I forget the last one wether it was a bayonet attack or a castable ability. I don't remenber passives lol, but my whole strategy was just evasion and massive punishing attacks. Overall though i relied alot on the Lord DLCs to top off my builds. Váli is really fun for Dex/Caster builds. But I think my strategy was effected by the pain that the Lord challanges put me through tbh, and well I was caught off guard by Blade Bearer being so fast it definitely was better than some boss fights in small arenas.
Part of me really misses this game, especially the customization and music. It had so much more potential than just being Anime Dark Souls, but alas. I only completed it once (no one really to team up with for later playthroughs as soloing was nice, but co-op is always more fun), but I am glad I at least got the best ending. Anyroad, these two gave me trouble as well. As bad as they were, I think the next fight was actually worse for me. Yeah, I eventually beat these two, but something about the fight with Mido was genuinely frustrating me EVEN MORE than Cannoneer and Blade Bearer, but I can't remember what. My mind must be trying to protect me. Lastly, shoutout to Io. Best girl and best partner. Once she was available, I never went back.
Can I just say that Go Shiina is a god amongst humanity? like I think the story of CV is generally weaker than GE but dang does Go Shiina make music that puts me in the moment irregardless.
I have heard about this game. I think it is basically Dark souls but anime. My friend played lies of P on his channel. The fast Bosses are usually the worst. Because they're fast. At least you did it finally. Multiple Bosses are also the worst. I'm just glad I don't play souls games.
Love this game a lot But these two.... these two tested that. Especially on NG+ as well as the achievement for getting every ending counting the slight variation on the dweller in the dark ending where you restore every vestage except Io's. I got mixed accounts on if that was required or not and skipped doing it the easy way. Then just gave up cus I didn't wanna play through the game a 4th time and I was never getting all achievements anyways because of exalted reputation. It also really bothers me that you can buy the preorder content as dlc on every platform but Steam. Regardless tho. I'd really love if this game got a sequel.
Yeah I was hoping the DLC would give some extra story bits but it seems like it's just three new depths maps and that's it. And I heard it was pretty bad (I haven't played them yet I'm doing NG+ right now)
@@weaponsci The dlc bosses are a lot of fun. It's clear they put a whole lot of effort into them. But the rest is pretty meh. I do think they're lackluster overall. They do add to the story some tho. They each have a set of vestiges you can restore and do the whole memory walkthrough thing for some lore. The dlc I was complaining about tho is the preorder dlc. They eventually released the preorder bonuses as DLC, but for consoles and the microsoft store... and not steam. So there's a set of weapons, armor, and cosmetics that exclusively steam users can't get.
@PollexTheCat I noticed that too. I have the game on ps4 also and was able to pick up the god eater weapons, the harbinger blood code, etc. Unfortunately, Bandai Namco's track record with pc ports are less than stellar, so I doubt they'll care enough to add them in
It's good. Put it in backlog hell because I got sidetracked with other games, but it's decent. I might give the other souls games another chance one day soon. The only others I've played are Dark Souls 3 and Nioh, and I didn't finish either.
