  • Hi. I like cider and I like making the John Bull cider kit as I like the finished cider. Appley, slight scrumpiness, dry but not over dry, a good level of acidic bite that gets the mouth watering.
Once made and bottled, its best left for a few months to condition in the bottles, but if you like it a little sweeter, you can add some sugar just before you drink it or use a sweetener just before you bottle it.
Anyway, whatever way you like your cider, give this method a go.
Here’s a link to the full video we made a few years back - • John Bull 2 Can Kit Ex...
And heres a link to the tasting video we did years ago too. Perhaps I’ll make a new one once this batch has been brewed - • Tasting John Bull 2 Ca...
Oh and here's a link to those kits on our website - www.brewbitz.c...
    Cheers & Happy Brewing.

Hi!! Do guys fancy doing a ginger beer on here? There is a lot of videos out there, but after trying quite a few of your recipes (with success) 👍🏻
I would rather go with whatever you would do 😊

Ooh, there are some awesome craft beers out there. I never drank beer until I found craft beers. And some of the sour beers are out of this world amazing.

Wish Id known about you guys when I lived in Frome before moving back to Scotland 6 years ago . To say I developed a taste for West country Cider while living in the shire is an undertatement. Sadly I find all the Cider up here too sweet for me and Im gagging for a natch or something a bit chewier. So I think im going to have to give this a go.
Im assuming this aint going to be toe curling dry like youd get from a certain farmyard down Wedmore way ?

Hahaha. Hope its not to cold up north. Northern cider has always had a sweetness to its recipe. So does yorkshire bitter.
The 2 cans are dry, but not dry dry. Very applely, and not vinegary acidity either.
A good west country style cider

Hi, can you add finings to clear the cider before bottling or will it clear naturally and if you did add finings will that stop the conditioning in the bottles .thanks jim

Hi Jim. Yes you can add finings to cider once it has finished fermenting, so remember to check it with a hydrometer.
If you want it to be fizzy and therefore adding extra sugar to each bottle, then there will still be some yeast in the cider but very few. This will mean that the secondary fermentation in the bottle will take much longer and this secondary fermentation will still create some sediments. In my opinion it’s better not to fine it, but to leave it to naturally clear for one to 2 weeks, then bottle with your sugar. This will mean it has had time to naturally clear, will still have live yeast, and any particulates that are still floating around will cement together at the bottom of the bottle in a firm layer which will not be disturbed when you open the bottle.
Saying that, if you don’t want it to be fizzy, then yes fine it, wait till it’s crystal clear, then bottle.
      Cheers and hope this helps.

@@Brewbitz hi thanks for your reply and help, you confirmed my suspicion. Iv only made a few batches of beers and just got a cider kit, the first beer batch was made with out finings and was nice and lively and the second batch I used finings to stop the bottle sediment was a bit flat but still drinkable. So thanks for your excellent advice to a newbe and from now on I will follow the instructions to the letter 🤣 Jim

Hi guys just a question can you add pectolase to the cider to make it clear or does this brand become clear anyway? Do you rack this cider. I’m a newbie to this but fancy making some. I made your blackberry wine in the summer and it was superb but I fancy a cider now

Hi. No need to add pectolase to these kits. They will clear. Cider doesnt usually need pectolase as you dont boil the fruit, just squeeze it out.
You might want to watch the full vid - ruclips.net/video/S6dthJQmdO4/видео.html as we go through racking, etc. it was a few years ago we made the video, so probably time we updated it.
      Hope this helps
