In his sophomore album, Public Life, Joshua Lee Turner weighs his life as a touring musician against a newfound appreciation for time spent at home. Turner embraces imperfection and limitation, choosing to record the album almost entirely to 4-track cassette and producing, mixing, and filming it in his apartment. With stripped-down arrangements, intimate lyrics, and virtuosic guitar playing, Public Life blends 1970s sounds with 2020 contemplations of home, friendship, work, and social media.

I struggle for words . . . I've watched and listened to you for over a decade now and still I'm unable to express how that seeing and hearing makes me feel. You are at once a virtuoso on guitar (and pretty much every other stringed instrument you get your hands on) , a gifted singer with a voice that continues to season and mellow beyond expectations, a modern minstrel/troubadour, this generation's cultural poet laureate, and an obviously genuinely nice guy who attracts other gifted musical artists like moths to a flame. I'm old, so I won't get to see how far this actually goes. But, it will clearly go very, very far. What you do is undeniable and unstoppable. I'm honored to bask in the generosity of your gift to us all. Thank you.

I always enjoy listening to you because I can hear influences of the classic greats like Glenn Campbell, CSN and many others. Thank you and please keep it coming. You are very talented and seem to be a very good person as well.

@@dianarichards4499 I was also thinking about them and in particular Paul Simon after the break up. l I love listening to Josh because I'm reminded of so many of them.

So beautiful and relaxing, I can listen to this on repeat all day long. Sorry to say but I find this a lot better than Unamericana. Carson has an amazing voice but I feel he's kind of stuck......in a day gone by lets say. I think he's holding you back from what/where you really should be heading. All the best Joshua.

Can we just appreciate how good he is at producing? I mean, no fancy record label to get all the thousand dollar equipment and place it in the right spots and spend hours editing, shifting the lights, combining all the instruments with the right amount of volume. This is spectacular, I can't imagine how much patience and knowledge you must have to record all these songs with such precision alone. Cheers.

Like the last guy, Don and many, many others, I celebrate Joshua. I had so much fun playing music, this kind of music, with friends I met along the way. Within these tunes I found friendship, community, joy, kindness, truth, hope, sadness and humanity.

Ugh. I am in awe, I am stunned, and I am just soooooo jealous! Can't help it. I feel like burying my guitar in hole - with me in it. Like a short guy watching Michael Jordan. It will be an interesting life for you young Josh, hope it's all it should be. Practice managing being famous! Regards, Chris Clarke
