The program is called "Drive Speedometer" and it is completely free. If you are wondering what the network monitoring utility is, that is called "DU Meter", which is not free. No problem. There are issues with the HDR mode not working properly as well as panorama - best to stick with the stock camera or try Camera FV-5. HD zoom and professional apks (Plugins) work fine for me. Please note that you should wipe the Oppo camera app data after installing additional plugins. Hope that helps! -MatixWriter

Camera next modded takes even better quality images, while retaining the original cameras design. The only thing it doesn't have is the 50 Megapixel function.

salins kumar Not entirely sure. Please check your camera application defaults and clear them out. This camera app is basically a better third party camera app than the default camera installed and just runs as a separate app. It does not replace the built in one. Still having issues with launching the camera? Please wipe the app data from both installed apps and try relaunching. Hope this helps!
I am able to follow all the steps bit still the image clicked is of 13mp I have followed all the steps (including the plugins) it shows in camera setting that the setting is for 50mp but when I click the photo , the size is not 50mp in the gallery ( its just 13 mp) I am using yu yureka based on miui 7 plz help @MatrixWriter

It should work on the OnePlus 2 if you are running CM12 or later. I have not tested it as I do not have that phone. Seen some users report it works. If it works, can you please let me know? Thanks!

+Kazi Azraf 1. Most likely yes since you are running CM 2. No idea, I would check XDA forums for that 3. It can be depending on what features you want to use, but you will have to reboot if you switch to different ROMs.
I actually took 2 snaps... One from normal cam and other one from 50mp cam... But I couldn't find any difference in clarity and detail...only thing I can find is the size difference... Can u post 2 snaps of same image using 13mp and 50mp and differentiate them?

Yes you can use both camera apps. It's like if you were to install third party camera app from the Play Store. I find the 50 MP app and just general shooting work so much better than the stock - it's faster and higher quality and the plugins rock!
There is no flash in these modes since multiple photos are being taken quickly at a time and either stitched together (HD mode, 50MP) or combining best exposure for dynamic range (HDR) - hard to take bursts of flash when 3+ photos are captured in 0.25-0.5 seconds. Hope that somewhat helps.
No worries. Please make sure to wipe the main camera app data if you install additional plugins (unless this bug has been fixed) so they will show up properly.
I had this issue it was because I was using ART for my runtime, for CM11S, you must use Dalvik for v1.7 and it states that on XDA, it does work on CM12 with ART (Android 5.0, default). To change the runtime in CM11S (enable developers settings first): Settings>>Developer options>>Select runtime -Your phone will reboot. Proceed to install the latest camera app.
It worked on my cm12 but not working on oxygen at all ... I mean software works it shows 50 MP but the photos are not 50 megpixel as cm12 .... any help around here ?
Hamed Fazilat I have not tested it. What build are you running? Few users have reported it works on build number is A0001_12_150403 Officially the camera app is not supported in other ROMs yet, so we will have to play the waiting game for now.
This is a separate camera installed - like you would do if you were to download one from the play store and it will not affect the stock camera. Pick which one you would like to use. Check under defaults under app settings to change cameras.
cjchico It has to with image interpolation, which in a nutshell is explained in the video description. Essentially lots of photos are taken and based off the algorithm of the new camera app, 4 best shots taken out of 10 are chosen and stitched together to create a 50 megapixel photo. And yes, the burst mode on the OnePlus One is insanely fast!! Chose or install the Normal Camera plugin and launch it. Hold down the shutter button and you'll see that about 10-12 full resolution photos captured in about a second (10-12 FPS)Now for camera quality:Most of it has to do with image processing and app development. For example, the main reason why the iPhone consistently takes better photos than most phone even though they have the same sensor is that the software and image processing and firmware as well is really good. For once I believe the OnePlus One takes better photos than the iPhone with this new camera app (even stock 13 MP). The stock camera app on the OnePlus One has so many issues for me as well as noisy images, shutter lag, slowness, and such. Another example is that Moto X 2014, which I own does not do very good photos even though it has a good sensor, the software isn't very good - I thing Moto needs to improve on that.Hope that helps somewhat, and thanks for watching and commenting!
MatrixWriter Hi Matrix. Even with interpolation, basically it is just an emulation that is happening here isn't it ? I mean stitching together parts of whole 13MP pictures of the same scene together will not increase the pixel rate unless the stitched parts are individual pictures of the stitched locations taken separately at closer distance and then interpolated in the big picture .... Or some like that ... I don't know if u can understand what I am trying to say .... But it would've been nice to see the 50MP picture and normal 13MP picture of the same scenery side by side so that the difference could be noticed.

Definitely hard to explain the process of image interpolation, but essentially a bunch of photos are taken together and then stitched together. This increases the pixel density, which then in turn increases the megapixels if I am understanding it correctly. More stuff is available on the web and probably someone has made a nice video on this process. Definitely something out of my scope for now.
MatrixWriter thanks bro ... I checked both pics ... There is considerable difference ... But not upto 50MP for sure .... I think it's more about image sharpening techniques than a pixel merge. But yes ... There is visible difference and its surely worth a try ...will post pics once I try it out.
Abhi Patel While the camera app port was designed specifically for the OnePlus One running CM11s / 12, you are always welcome to try the app on other devices and ROMs to see if it works. Most likely it will not work, but stay tuned to the original XDA project as future ROMs and phone could be supported.

This should work fine on CM13 for the OnePlus One only and maybe the OnePlus 2. Definitely does not work on the OnePlus 3. Other phones are not supported.
+Lucky Lozano Yes it can be done on a nonrooted device. Just download the app and side load it your phone (connect phone to USB and install it on phone).
No idea man. I think OnePlus might implement maybe something official with it? Otherwise stick with CM11S or CM12 as the camera works great with it - rooted or non-rooted.
but tell me one thing that is superzoom HD picture app really gives you 50mp photo. Because if lens is 13MP inbuilt in our phone then how is it possible
hemant sarpotdar The 50 MP photo is done through image interpolation where a series of photos are stitched together to create a more dense photo. In this case, the phone takes between 4 (at least) up to 10 photos and chooses the best ones and then stitches them together. The amount of photos varies depending on lighting condition to get a fast enough shutter speed, otherwise your photos will be blurry. Not recommended in low light situations. Hope that helps!
To my knowledge, it does not work on anything but CM11S. Please do keep updated with the XDA forums as other ROMs may be supported in the future hopefully.

Just a tip of best photo experience: you need to be slightly steady holding the phone since the camera takes lots of phones in succession and stitches the best images taken (4) to create 50 MP photo - image interpolation. If you try the burst mode in the normal mode of the Oppo Camera you'll see how fast it snaps photos. Almost as fast as the iPhone 6/6S, if not faster. Try it out!
MatrixWriter this thing is awsome! just tried it, yeah very fast snap shots. I also like how it pumps up the birhgtness automatically when you use the camera app, very useful when taking photos in sunlight.
Hello, can you provide me details with 55Q update details as I do not see it on the OnePlus or XDA forums. Is 55Q Android 5.0 / Lollipop? If so, the Oppo Camera does not work currently with it. The latest update I know of is XNPH05Q and the Oppo camera works with that. Please try wiping the camera data or reinstalling. Try the camera app without the plugins installed as well.

Hello everyone, I get lots of questions if this will work with other phones and OSes, it is just an APK. Please download the latest one (links in the video description) and install it on your phone. It works or it doesn't. Really, this app is mean for Oppo blob-based devices but feel free to experiment around and post if it worked for you. You can't break anything. Uninstall if it doesn't work.

+Troy Condorato I'm not sure what might be happening, but I would try reinstalling the camera APK and the HD photo plugin. Then wipe the camera app settings before relaunching to clear out the cache. When you launch the HD photo plugin and take a photo, you will get a loading circle as the app is taking and processing the photos taken. Also make sure you are on CM ROM as other OSes are not supported.
Amandeep Singh Which OS are you using as well as Camera App installed? For me, I am still using CM11S and Camera App v1.7 - both have been rock solid. If using CM11S, make sure you have ART disabled for runtime as this does not support it. You must be on Dalvik runtime. **Your previous comment was removed since it contained an email address. No idea! If you are willing to test it out for me and update me, that would be valuable feedback. I know the camera app works on CM12 fine. Oxygen OS might have slightly different framework so it could make or break this camera app. Let's hope the mods and developers on XDA provide support. Hope that helps!

Make sure to allow third party application install under security settings. Menu > Settings > Applications and make sure “Unknown sources” is checked. Also do not use ART but must use Dalvik --- see XDA forum about this support for the camera app. Hope this helps!
Do you mean as install? Please make sure you can install 3rd party applications (I should have shown that in the video as a step...) under security settings. If having issues coping it to your PC, make sure you have the correct drivers installed if using Windows, but it should work without the drivers as MTP is natively supported in Win7 and later versions. It does show 50mp but when I check on quickpic details says only 13mp 2.66 mb aprox...
I actually took 2 snaps... One from normal cam and other one from 50mp cam... But I couldn't find any difference in clarity and detail...only thing I can find is the size difference... Can u post 2 snaps of same image using 13mp and 50mp and differentiate them?

Yes you can use both camera apps.
It's like if you were to install third party camera app from the Play Store. I find the 50 MP app and just general shooting work so much better than the stock - it's faster and higher quality and the plugins rock!

How come there's no flash in HD picture, HDR and a couple other modes?
There is no flash in these modes since multiple photos are being taken quickly at a time and either stitched together (HD mode, 50MP) or combining best exposure for dynamic range (HDR) - hard to take bursts of flash when 3+ photos are captured in 0.25-0.5 seconds.

No worries. Please make sure to wipe the main camera app data if you install additional plugins (unless this bug has been fixed) so they will show up properly.

I had this issue it was because I was using ART for my runtime, for CM11S, you must use Dalvik for v1.7 and it states that on XDA, it does work on CM12 with ART (Android 5.0, default).
To change the runtime in CM11S (enable developers settings first):
Settings>>Developer options>>Select runtime
-Your phone will reboot.
Proceed to install the latest camera app.

This is a separate camera installed - like you would do if you were to download one from the play store and it will not affect the stock camera. Pick which one you would like to use.
Check under defaults under app settings to change cameras.

cjchico It has to with image interpolation, which in a nutshell is explained in the video description. Essentially lots of photos are taken and based off the algorithm of the new camera app, 4 best shots taken out of 10 are chosen and stitched together to create a 50 megapixel photo. And yes, the burst mode on the OnePlus One is insanely fast!! Chose or install the Normal Camera plugin and launch it. Hold down the shutter button and you'll see that about 10-12 full resolution photos captured in about a second (10-12 FPS)Now for camera quality:Most of it has to do with image processing and app development. For example, the main reason why the iPhone consistently takes better photos than most phone even though they have the same sensor is that the software and image processing and firmware as well is really good. For once I believe the OnePlus One takes better photos than the iPhone with this new camera app (even stock 13 MP). The stock camera app on the OnePlus One has so many issues for me as well as noisy images, shutter lag, slowness, and such. Another example is that Moto X 2014, which I own does not do very good photos even though it has a good sensor, the software isn't very good - I thing Moto needs to improve on that.Hope that helps somewhat, and thanks for watching and commenting!

MatrixWriter Hi Matrix. Even with interpolation, basically it is just an emulation that is happening here isn't it ? I mean stitching together parts of whole 13MP pictures of the same scene together will not increase the pixel rate unless the stitched parts are individual pictures of the stitched locations taken separately at closer distance and then interpolated in the big picture .... Or some like that ... I don't know if u can understand what I am trying to say .... But it would've been nice to see the 50MP picture and normal 13MP picture of the same scenery side by side so that the difference could be noticed.

Definitely hard to explain the process of image interpolation, but essentially a bunch of photos are taken together and then stitched together. This increases the pixel density, which then in turn increases the megapixels if I am understanding it correctly. More stuff is available on the web and probably someone has made a nice video on this process. Definitely something out of my scope for now.
MatrixWriter thanks bro ... I checked both pics ... There is considerable difference ... But not upto 50MP for sure .... I think it's more about image sharpening techniques than a pixel merge. But yes ... There is visible difference and its surely worth a try ...will post pics once I try it out.

running CM11s / 12, you are always welcome to try the app on other
devices and ROMs to see if it works. Most likely it will not work, but
stay tuned to the original XDA project as future ROMs and phone could be
supported.

Camera flash cannot be used for 50 MP, burst mode, or HDR as they involve multiple photo capture.

This should work fine on CM13 for the OnePlus One only and maybe the OnePlus 2. Definitely does not work on the OnePlus 3. Other phones are not supported.

Yes it can be done on a nonrooted device. Just download the app and side load it your phone (connect phone to USB and install it on phone).

No idea man. I think OnePlus might implement maybe something official with it? Otherwise stick with CM11S or CM12 as the camera works great with it - rooted or non-rooted.

The 50 MP photo is done through image interpolation where a series of photos are stitched together to create a more dense photo. In this case, the phone takes between 4 (at least) up to 10 photos and chooses the best ones and then stitches them together.
The amount of photos varies depending on lighting condition to get a fast enough shutter speed, otherwise your photos will be blurry. Not recommended in low light situations.

Just a tip of best photo experience: you need to be slightly steady holding the phone since the camera takes lots of phones in succession and stitches the best images taken (4) to create 50 MP photo - image interpolation. If you try the burst mode in the normal mode of the Oppo Camera you'll see how fast it snaps photos. Almost as fast as the iPhone 6/6S, if not faster. Try it out!
MatrixWriter this thing is awsome! just tried it, yeah very fast snap shots. I also like how it pumps up the birhgtness automatically when you use the camera app, very useful when taking photos in sunlight.

Hello, can you provide me details with 55Q update details as I do not see it on the OnePlus or XDA forums. Is 55Q Android 5.0 / Lollipop? If so, the Oppo Camera does not work currently with it.
The latest update I know of is XNPH05Q and the Oppo camera works with that.
Please try wiping the camera data or reinstalling. Try the camera app without the plugins installed as well.

I travel to many places in the US, but I was in downtown Houston right before I made this video and discovered the 50 MP plugin and development on XDA.
I keep getting "App not installed" when installing the camera app. Anyone know what could be causing that?

Hello everyone, I get lots of questions if this will work with other phones and OSes, it is just an APK. Please download the latest one (links in the video description) and install it on your phone. It works or it doesn't. Really, this app is mean for Oppo blob-based devices but feel free to experiment around and post if it worked for you. You can't break anything. Uninstall if it doesn't work.

+Troy Condorato I'm not sure what might be happening, but I would try reinstalling the camera APK and the HD photo plugin. Then wipe the camera app settings before relaunching to clear out the cache.
When you launch the HD photo plugin and take a photo, you will get a loading circle as the app is taking and processing the photos taken. Also make sure you are on CM ROM as other OSes are not supported.

Which OS are you using as well as Camera App installed?
For me, I am still using CM11S and Camera App v1.7 - both have been rock solid.
If using CM11S, make sure you have ART disabled for runtime as this does not support it. You must be on Dalvik runtime.

Did you try wiping all app data for the camera? That's usually how to get the plugins to show up in the camera according to XDA forums.

Oxygen OS might have slightly different framework so it could make or break this camera app. Let's hope the mods and developers on XDA provide support.

Which version of CM are you running? They work on 11.1 and 12.1. No idea if it works on 13.1. Other phones are not supported or guaranteed to work.

Make sure to allow third party application install under security settings.
Menu > Settings > Applications and make sure “Unknown sources” is checked.
Also do not use ART but must use Dalvik --- see XDA forum about this support for the camera app.

Do you mean as install?
Please make sure you can install 3rd party applications (I should have shown that in the video as a step...) under security settings.
If having issues coping it to your PC, make sure you have the correct drivers installed if using Windows, but it should work without the drivers as MTP is natively supported in Win7 and later versions.
