    Good info! It would be helpful for people to see both a fertilized and non-fertilized to compare. This is pretty easy to tell, however people who are new to looking at it might not know for sure what they are or are not seeing.

    loving that "Greene" screen! 🤣 This may be a silly question, but is it possible for the bullseye to be on the bottom side of the egg when it's in the bowl, or do they always float to the top so you can see it?

    • @MyshireFarm
      @MyshireFarm  Год назад +1

      No on side is normal. I just got lucky

    Do you wash/clean/sanitize eggs before you incubate them, or do you recommend anyone do or not do it?
    Obviously a lot of it has to do with the conditions they're laid into (such as being either on wire racks or out in dirt, etc), I would assume, but looking online this seems to be such a viciously divisive subject that has so many people disagreeing on so many things about. It almost sounds like it doesn't matter what you do since everyone claims great hatch rates after "This one simple little trick"-esque stuff.

      No not necessary at all.

    I just looked up some similar info yesterday. I wanted to know when fertility STOPS, what age they are? My "old" hens are still laying a lot. But are the males with them still fertile too?

    • @MyshireFarm
      @MyshireFarm  4 месяца назад +1

      Males start slowing down at 8 months and very little to low fertility around 13 months

    Thanks for this info, Zach. When is a good time to incubate? Is this something you can do all year? I just want to be sure the babies are comfortable.

    I have 7 birds, 6 female 1 male. To maximise fertilisation, should I be keeping my male separate from the female for periods of time or are they ok to permanently share the coop?
    I'm incubating my first ever batch but i think only 2 of 16 are fertilised.

    Could you put the eggs you want to incubate in an egg turner just to keep them rotating before you start the actual incubation? Or is it best to move them twice a day by hand? Thanks

    • @MyshireFarm
      @MyshireFarm  Год назад +1

      No reason to turn the eggs until they are placed in incubator

    Please I want to know if you are incubating eggs which are different days old in an incubator for example a 500 capacity incubator when it's time for lock down for some eggs and you increase humidity will it affect the egg which are not up to lock down.

    My chicks (7) are a week and a half old, the chicks (some)are laying all around with their legs stretched out sleeping. The temp is about 78 degrees are they trying to get warm or are they to hot or just chilling?

  • @dream88power

    But how do u check fertilization without cracking the egg during the early stages of development?

    • @MyshireFarm
      @MyshireFarm  Год назад +1

      It is not necessary to check fertility if you have the room put them in the incubator. If you have 5 hens to 1 male and 3 quail per sq ft then fertility should not be an issue
