Would like to have heard him sing "Valhalla" from Black Sabbath's "Tyr" when they reunited for "Dehumanizer". The singer on "Tyr" was Tony Martin who was brought in for his resemblance to Dio's singing. Flip the equation and you have a missed-as-fuck opportunity for some good live material. "Headless Cross", "The Shining" and "Valhalla" should have been part of the Dehumanizer" set-list instead going back to "Iron Man", "Paranoid" and "War Pigs".
@@troyevitt2437 I agree. It isn't fair to Tony Martin that he's been written out of sabbath history. However Ozzy fans would have gone nuts without Ironman, Paranoid...
@@AH-nu2py Seems like the Ozzy diehards would have enjoyed hearing him singing Iron Man Paranoid and War Pigs with Zakk Wylde on that No More Tears tour, with Geezer in the touring line up, than Iommi playing 'em with Ronnie James Dio singing. Dio singing that stuff just took us back to "Black 'n' Blue". The craziest thing about that was Dio being on the same tour as Robbie Krieger. Blue Oyster Cult had recorded a cover of Roadhouse Blues ("I Woke Up This Morning and I Couldn't Get Me no Breakfast"-they literally sang that!) and every night, Krieger would come out to throw in with BOC. I know, Right?! As if BOC didn't sound awesome with three guitarists, imagine them with FOUR! With Dehumanizer, Mk-III Sabbath Sabbath had 3 CDs under their belt, Appice being on 2/3rds. They didn't need to do anything but Dio-fronted material, but, like I said, if they had a woody to do any back-catalog, Martin-fronted material would have been perfect. While Ian Gillian was Dio's SUCCESSOR in B/S, creating "Born Again", Tony Martin was Dio's true REPLACEMENT. "Headless Cross" was a shameless callback to the song Heaven and Hell even using the same triplet gallop. I liked the idea Geezer and Tony had of calling the Dio/Appice lineup "Heaven and Hell" vs. "Classic Sabbath" with Ozzy and Bill Ward. (Who is that drummer that handled most of that last Black Sabbath tour?)
Troy Evitt I knew Ronnie my whole adult live. Worked for him on and of. He would not have shared the stage with Ozzy. And Ozzy would not have wanted to really be directly compared to Ronnie. Ozzy is an entertainer, a one trick pony vocally, staying within one octave 99% of the time. Funny story about Tony Martin. He’s a great singer no doubt. We were I think it was in Oklahoma, sometime around ‘95. They had an all day indoor event. Not a festival but bands playing all day. Sabbath was on before Dio with Tony Martin. There was another band between them, if I remember correctly Smashing Pumpkins, don’t quote me on that. Sabbath did their sound check. Whoever it was between them, they were late, so DIO did theirs. Martin who was Ron’s engineer at the time used Sabbath and Tony Martin as a baseline. Ronnie often warmed up with last in line because that song has clean vocals and gets raspy after the intro. He connected his mic and starts singing, the next moment we were all holding our ears screaming for Ronnie to stop. 😂 So I’m still saying Tony Martin is a good singer, but Ronnie was so much more powerful. I still miss him.
This was the last concert of Dio I attended. GREAT it was! I was so hopeful I'll see him again as Heaven & Hell this June in Sofia but... R.I.P. Ronnie! You'll be always in my heart and soul!
It pleases me to say , this man is amazing and he is love by so many , he,s not gone . Because his memory will live in me forever and ever, keep on rocking Ronnie.
You know why Dio rules with such unquestionable authority? Take away those Marshall stacks, he's still Dio. That's how. You can never unplug the power of Dio's voice and presence.
I've seen dio live 4 times, maiden 5 times, Sabbath 3 times, ozzy 7 times, pantera twice, anthrax 3+ times, been to many a concert and dio will always be one of my favorites. DIO, priest and scorpions are my top 3 concerts. maiden/anthrax was a close fourth.

DIO rules. Period. There is no one like him, never has been, and never will be. He has no equal. Who else could kick ass all the way to the very end BUT Ronnie? The man is a legend! He's always sang about the things I've felt, thought, and believed. His physical vehicle is gone but never his spirit. \m/ \m/
@straightme1 Yeah, men, his voice was even stronger!!! I saw him in concert four times, and I had also the incredible luck to meet him twice. As you can imagine, it was the most amazing experience in my life, to meet a God, and at the same time, such a kind human being!!!
Dio the best of all times! his lyrics are very enlighting! long live rock and roll!! Dio lives in us!!! Watch Black Paradox Band videos, a tribute to Black Sabbath Dio and Ozzy!!! 🤘
Hey, I like this too. Ronnie is amazing . He is amazing for a man that is in his 60,s and that is telling the young cats what they can do if they put their minds to it and I love this video.
I remember someone put this song up on RUclips but they did the video with sections of Conan the barbarian comics rolling on the screen while this song played over it was the first time I heard it and with the Conan imagery playing over all . Croms teeth it was glorious look it up
@heavy21metal It is I, you, everybody. It is somebody who has recognized his/her real strength and power. Who has recognized that he/she is more than just somebody. More than a human. Who is both a hero and a sinner.
39 seconds in.. When the main beat starts the thunder from within begins to ROAR those seeking the fight will find heart and to prepaire for WAR!!! Who else feels this strength when they hear this song!? \m/
@CPRpaintball Its John Bonham that's dead, not Jason. Jason is his son, and alive, and just played with Zeppelin on drums for their most likely final show ever at te O2 in London 2 years ago.
@KeenAnthony I think the song talks about individualism as in the Dehumanizer alboum there are these kind of subjects, computer god for worshiping technology and not putting it under man etc...
They're making a Dio song out of this. Listen to Ronnie's vocal inflections -- they're lower and more sustained. He performs different for Dio than for Sabbath. I do not usually prefer his live versions, but this is a rare one indeed.
some of the greatest lyrics ever written !!!!!!!!
" I " would have to agree.
I agree with this 100%
"I" think the same.
This is the song that brought me to my knees and cried, he was the voice of my generation and he was a true master.
Best one of the Dehumanizer songs. Glad he brought it into his own show!
The voice of thunder... RIP Ronnie...
DIO will forever be missed, a great creator of songs and melodies.
Dio doesn't die, he moves on to Valhalla to rock a even greater stage

Ronnie at 4:41-4:48 blows me away ever time. An artist he is.
"No Im a WHore" that line is a classic, I Love Dio.
One of my all time favorite Sabbath tracks. Second to none in intensity. Who could balance melody and power like RJD? You are sadly missed.
What a fucking badass. One of the all tim greats for sure
I, I, I, fckn miss you !!!!
And so do "I "
ME TOO..IMMENSELY ❤️
THIS is heavy metal

The awkward moment when Dio says "I'm a giant".
RIP Dio, you are missed.
Dana Tea not awkward for me?
@@lisafury419 Because he was not big physically I guess.
Spiritually and vocally though, less "Gigant" and more "God" if you ask me
A God, correct !
I wonder missy how tall are you and what have you accomplished ?
This gigantic voice keep us here at least.
@@fpostolache it was a joke I made ten years ago haha, also I am short which is why it was fun to me
@@Herebedragons991 good, got your point yet there are good and bad jokes (depends on the audience). Best !
His voices sounds killer here... just as good as the original recording.
I am anger
Under pressure
Lost it cages
A prisoner
The first to escape
I am wicked
I am legion
Strength in numbers
A lie
The number is one
[Chorus:]
I - I - I
Everything that I see is for me
Yes, I am giant
I'm a monster
Breaking windows
In houses
Buildings of glass
Rebel rebel
Holy outlaw
Ride together
Don't try it
The power's in one
[Chorus:]
I - I - I
I am standing alone
But I can rock you
I - I - I
On the edge of the blade
But the knife can't cut the hero down
I am virgin
I'm a whore
Giving nothing
The taker
The maker of war
I'll smash your face in
But with a smile
All together
You'll never
Be stronger than me
[Chorus:]
I - I - I
Right here on my own
But I still rock you
I - I - I
Don't follow behind
Just leave me on the outside
I - I - I
I am standing alone
But I can shock you
I - I - I
On the edge of the blade
But no one makes the hero bleed
(No, no, no)
I am hunger
Feed my head
All together
You'll never
Never make the hero bleed
(No, no, no)
