i hve been a fan since "Around The Fur era {97-98'} done bought the cd like 10 times because my dumbass scratched it all the time being an irresponsible teenagr yea Nirvana had their 4 yrs of fame, Courtney ended it because she was mad because kurt didn't wanna play the lollapolusia festival in 94' so we got the smashing pumpkins fast forward to a yr Deftones had released their debut album "Adrenline"{1995} and it grew from there this is an Awesome concert esp engine #9 w/chi screaming his ass off and their still kicking it in 2023 imagine if they had just given up aftr chi's passing that really affectd them emotionally and psycally anyways yes i agree 110% god bless, from New Jersey..#Deftonesforever #r.i.p Chi Cheng

LIZARD_1582 Adrenaline dropped ‘95, when I was in kindergarten. They have been performing live since ‘88. Deftones was the precursor to “nu metal.” I’ve been a fan since ‘05, when I was a teenager. Nothing weird about liking music regardless of age. Deftones was slightly before my time. “Older brother music,” though I never had an older brother and still loved the band.

one of my old festival days rarely captured on tv. that more than 20 years in the past. i cant believe it. deftones had been on of the most influancial bands at that time for me. no other band really interested me that festival. thanks to have it here...

Biggest regret of my life... I saw Chino outside a venue when he played a Team Sleep show and I was too nervous to talk to him. I've idolized Chino since the Adrenaline days and the one chance I got to talk to him and I blew it. That was the only time I've ever been star-struck. He is such a cool dude too, I'm not sure why I was so nervous.
It comes with practice you just gotta snap out of it and act cool. The worst that can happen is that you’ll be a bit awkward but they’re used to it. Act cool, treat em like normal human beings because that’s really what they are and then add in the “fan” moments in doses lol

I can see both sides. They definitely are well known throughout the rock/metal community, but in terms of commercial success they fall short compared to other bands during the era like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, etc which is a shame because they're probably the best and most unique one to come out of that time

I cant agree with that. I grew up through the 90s. I was 6 when 1990 hit and I remember deftones being among those like Korn and such. I remember the day when White Pony came out and all my friends and myself and others at the music store picking it up. Deftones was always mentioned within the same group when talking about all those bands. I still have my deftones tshirt from a concert I went to in 1999
+ADuB GAMING But compared to today it feels like the other bands I've mentioned seem to be more well known from the average person. I didn't grow up during that era so I'll have to take your word for it.

It was my first festival ever, I just turned 15 - the concert has been interrupted due to heavy rain after "Engine no.9" and was finished after. This concert literally blew me away and made me a lifelong Deftones Hardcorefan!

THERE ARE 4 ALUBMS THAT HAD A GREAT IMPACT ON THE WORLD TO OTHER BANDS AND WERE AHEAD OF ITS TIME AND PRODUCED OTHER BANDS TO THEIR STYLE... Faith No More's ANGEL DUST, MR BUNGLE Deftones THE WHITE PONY and you have The Dillinger Escape Plan's CALCULATING INFINITY and those 4 albums weren't really liked by their label at the time because it was different, but DEFONES AND DEP are not evolving, they sound the same every album, I'm not gonna recommend Mike Patton's MONDO CANE, but I would recommend Patton doing interesting things with FANTOMAS, and then a hip hop-tic PEEPING TOM, and a straight up rock band in TOMAHAWK (those bands also feature former and current members of Slayer, Melvins, Jesus Lizard, Philm, and Helmet. Chino started fronting Isis so I was interested but it sounds the same. And, I started with Adreline and Around the Fur, if I bought The White Pony first, I would think they sucked, same with DEP's Miss Machine, and I love watching this concert, but Chino playing guitar? I like him on his own with a mic, and DEP is blowing fire balls like Kiss on stage

Geez remember back in the days people had style. True skaters ,metal heads etc. Was fortunate to be part of it. Notice these days it's rare to see ,for example Chino's fashion. Basic but had a style . Miss those days.
