The Futur recently got a big intresst in logo design after making one for a schoolproject. Found one of the old ddc videos and got futur as recomended.
I really hope one day I can afford to bring some good business the way of Blind, just as a thank you to you, Chris and your team for the impact you're making on so many designers.
Am so glad I didn't miss this video...oh!mg I almost did. I like the much fun Yo displayed in her presentation. Lot of information she shared are really inspiring. Thank you Futur for this. Chris Kudos!
I have. That interview was one of the first videos I watched on this channel a few months back. Its awesome listening to her go deeper into her journey/thinking in this one.
lol no no, Chris is actually very positive. Chris and the Futur gang are helping me to improve my design and business skills so that I dont have to work for Fiverrrr or upwork but for higher tier clients. Positive company indeed. Just need to find people like this here on the east coast too, call me greedy.
That was awesome, thanks for the video, great stories, a lot to learn from. It would be awesome to actually meet Yo in person, she seems like a lot of fun just to be around and learn from her experience. Cheers.
Is it okay to be presenting yourself as somebody who does brands when you're a graphic designer and really don't have a business degree? BTW your channel's content is spot on.
Hey Chris, in your next Q&A? Can you tell me whether or not, despite all of the available online - sometimes free - resources, you believe attending Art Center (particularly Entertainment Design in my case) can be, in 2017, one of the most valuable investments you ( I'm 20 ) can make if they're serious about the quality of jobs they want to be apart of in the design business? Can you discuss the strength of the education and it's payback benefits weighing the cost you experienced? How long did it take you to pay off your student loans? Does the increase in knowledge and confidence allow you to pay off debt quickly because you're a design super star by the end of the rigorous program?
i think i've covered this in the value of design education. i paid off my student loans in less than a year. but the economy and opportunities vs. cost of tuition was very different back then. when I started, tuition was $3700/semester if i remember correctly. art center is one of the best places to learn entertainment design, especially through the industrial design program. i would suggest that you speak to some people working in the field like mark goerner.
I've filed onto educational leave at my current school to create a portfolio and be transfer into Spring semester 2018 or fall semester 2018 if I'm not accepted this October for spring semester. The school does not have much to speak about because they claim it is really early to say much of what to expect from spring next year. I assume it's best to keep pushing forward because of the dream. The concept artists I know of that come out of art center are finding fantastic job placement. I sent Mark a FB message. I want to find a paid mentorship opportunity from hopefully an alumni or even a faculty member - maybe an industry professional - to help build a portfolio to be accepted as soon as possible. I've seen your episode on the topic you referenced. I hope you still will teach by the time I'm in LA. I'd love to meet you in person. I'd wonder if maybe someday by the time I graduate your company may need concept designers for something. Who knows what could happen. Regardless thanks, Cheers
