Went to the Piet gathering at Broadhead in 2014. I was amazed at the wide variety of Piets there. Continentals, corvairs, even the odd model A ford. Some amazing workmanship. Those guys were having way too much fun. I'd love to fly one. I'd hate to be a front seat passenger. You must have to be a contortionist to get in the front cockpit.
You prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tips you can give me
@Terrance Byron Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi Janet, That motor mount will have to be custom-built either by you or for you. The dimensions of the mount for the Pietenpol will not be the same as any motor mount you will find at any of the aircraft supply houses such as Wag-Aero or Aircraft Spruce. Take heart Janet, a motor mount is not that difficult to fabricate. Good luck. 🙂
It's not a replica, really. It IS a Pietenpol. It's simply a Pietenpol with a Continental engine. You can stick just about any engine that'll fit and it's still a Pietenpol.
I always thought putting the radiator for the model "A" Ford motor squarely in front of the pilots forward view to be such a questionable decision that I never trusted the overall Peid engineering. Are the struts strong enough and in the right place? Who did the welding for the early examples? I mean the radiator in your face on an already disadvantaged tail dragged. OK then.
Amazing! Are the fuel tanks in the wings? If not it probably needs a fuel pump :D the DR400 plane i train with needs to have the pump switched on each time the plane pitches up even slightly.
@ 10:00, #1 ground observer asks, "Did he get a full static run-up on it?" Doesn't appear he did, eh? Fuel-control or ignition issue? Still, sweet plane and nice project. Props!
Hi, ... you are using a modern flat 4 engine, why? ... that engine has way more power than the original engine ... & to keep it looking original, ... where is the overhead radiator ?
Hi talon55130, your very insightful comment is truly eye-opening. Please forgive this oversight and we will try to do better, until then, thanks a lot. Sure hope to see some meaningful content on your youtube channel very soon. 🙂
@ Hi talon55130, By all means, little fellow, please take that video of your cat, edit, and post it to your channel so that we all may enjoy video genius on full display. Really, I am looking forward to your mentorship. 🙂
@ Hi talon55130, Are you well little fellow? I have heard that some people with the Corona Virus suffer from high fervor, night sweats, and delirium. Take some Theraflu and a large shot of whiskey, any brand will do, and get a good night's sleep. Go see a health care professional tomorrow if you are able. I am really starting to worry about you, little buddy. If there is anything I can do to alleviate your suffering please, let me know, ok? 🙂
@ Hi talon 55130, It's way past your bedtime little fellow, so go hug your mommy and toddle on off to your Harry Potter themed bunk bed, climb in with your teddy bear and go nighty night. 😴
Hi Kevin, the old girls paint is in sad shape but she is a very well built little Pietenpol. We hope to get the engine issues cleared up soon so that we can fly off the phase 1 flight test hours. We hope to use her for a lot of young eagle flights when we get her into phase 2. You are right, her mags are Eisemann AM-4's. We will be looking at them soon. Thanks for watching. Marc
Hi Glen, thanks for watching. Forgive me for being slow but are you asking about the spelling of Pietenpol? Let me know, OK. Again, thanks for watching.
Nice looking pietenpol, sorry had issue, good piloting got her down safely well as pilot.
I especially like his landing with that late flare, a three pointer with no forward motion left a real short landing without flaps.
What a lovely little plane. It's so good to see unusual models still being cared for and kept going.
Thank you Stony.

@Terrance Byron it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
@Brooks Maddox No problem :D
I like the pietenpol and always have
but it would have looked better with a J3 cowling, maybe not as original but better....Have a blessed day....
Nice plane

Hi Dwain,
Where can I get an engine mount for a Continental A-65 for my Pete?

Somebody got scorned by ATC 😧
the original had a radiator up front so this is a modern replica. OK, have fun and be careful

I understand that the fuel is gravity-fed so no pump is needed.

Either that or after 15 years of sitting it's needs a new carburetor.
@@lodjaboy If you have a good carburetor.
Did you ever get her flying????? Cheers

Ya mag on? It’s running ! It pulls power, what else?
Please where can I get a Honda reciprocating engine
Hi, ... you are using a modern flat 4 engine, why? ... that engine has way more power than the original engine ... & to keep it looking original, ... where is the overhead radiator ?
They are reliable and it is his airplane that is why.
The radiator " in your face" is probably in a museum where it belongs.
Did you end up replacing your 1/4” fuel lines with 3/8”?
The camera man needs to remember he's operating a camera.

Good to see an old Piet getting attention. What mags, old Eisemann's ?

Do you mean 'Pietenpol' with an el at the end?
Hi Glen, thanks for watching. Forgive me for being slow but are you asking about the spelling of Pietenpol? Let me know, OK. Again, thanks for watching.
Oh, I just discovered the spelling error and have corrected it. Thanks Glen.
Hi Dwain- How are you doing? I see your spelling is now as tight and right as your cool little airplane....
Did they do a fuel flow test?
First thing. 🙂
In Russia, the pension I can not do such a thing. It is a great pity.
It is a shame. My friend's father, 30 years with Aeroflot as Commander, US$75.00 maybe $100 per month pension. I make this per hour of flying.
This seems affordable: ruclips.net/video/GtCGPpF3juU/видео.html

why is there no footage of the plane flying? should be the bulk of the footage. fake
John Orabone he said it flew for 20 seconds in the first 30 seconds of the video
John Orabone please take your medication. LOL
Were you born stupid...or did you work on it a good while? :)
What in hell would be the incentive to fake it.
