Chloe's character is so tragic. Nothing ever goes right for her. She loses her father and she loses Max. She meets her new best friend, Rachel, only to lose her as well. She Get's Max back, only to either Sacrifice herself to save her town, or lose everyone she knows and loves except Max, including her mother. There is no happy ending for Chloe. It's such a shame that we won't see these characters again.
I kinda freaked out when they were digging for the treasure, because the last time we saw them digging something up... Well. Instead of happy memories, they found tragic ones.
@@avacodosrlost1569 Im watching this specific video for the first time cause i kind of only watched lis 1 and 2 lol but every other vid of the lis games ive watched lol
I love that Jack isn't scared to show his emotions. He sobs and has fucking feelings for characters. It is SO powerful when you can relate 100% because the person isn't forcing it.
for real i mean i know i tend to cry at stuff like that because of how emotional it is but its nice to see someone who even like jack is so charismatic and upbeat still sob after such a sad part in the story. It just goes to show how good the game is for the story to affect you that much.
AlTHOUGH...at the beginning of Life is Strange 2, the game asks you if (a) you have played the original game and (b) did you sacrifice Arcadia Bay or not. If yes, then at one point the LiS2 characters pass by the ruins. :(
spoilers Robin! jeez some people might not know its still somewhat new, and there cant be a "after the storm" cause theres a choice ending there'd have to be two games
The unaltered time line is kinda depressing. Basically at the same time as Chloés dad dies, her best friend leaves and stops contacting her. Then some asshole starts dating her mom (as she never got to find out that David wasn't a bad person), but she makes a friend and things start looking up. She gets expelled, and goes into major debt. Her new friend goes missing, and then Chloé gets shot, and dies alone, thinking that everyone she cared about had left her. And don't forget the time line where William doesn't die. She either dies slowly from the damage done to her body, or dies by assisted suicide. Or the countless times she died in getting to the alternate time line. The only happy ending she gets, is when basically the entire town dies for her. This game shouldn't be called life is strange, it should be called life hates Chloé.
If you consider the unaltered timeline, then it makes you feel even more depressed...Chloe is shot and dies alone in a bathroom, not knowing her best friend is back. Her life completely crumbled. Weird, I feel empty
Basic Thought More like Dontnod made us cry. Damn, this episode alone hit harder than the whole Before The Storm main story. Wish they come back for LIS2
I got flashbacks of whenever Chloe and Max were digging up their treasure. It looks a lot like whenever both of them were hurriedly digging with their hands just to discover that Rachel was buried in the scrap yard. Then their faces whenever they found the treasure.
That ending, just tore at my heartstrings.... Everything just falling down around Chloe, losing her best friend on the day of her Dad's Funeral, while also having to fit in at a new school, where she doesn't have anyone.... I will Always choose to save Chloe.......
RT Rollo I didn't have the chance to play the game, but I've watched Jack play it; I'd definitely choose to save Arcadia Bay over Chloe too. I love Chloe, but there are hundreds/thousands of people who have lives just as important as hers. I'm sure at least a few of them (considering the numbers) had even more tragic life stories than Chloe did, if that's what we're basing it off of (according to Daisy Rose). Sure, call me callous, but when I think long and hard, the only real option is to sacrifice Chloe. I'm not sure I could do something that noble if it were in real life with my real best friend (we're all more selfish than we hope we are), but in a game situation, I certainly would.
Anony Paws by the end, I think they had more than just being best friends, at least that's how I felt when I played the game, so your RL bias would be even stronger. I'm the first to admit that I didn't play this based on Logic, or what's right and what's wrong........ I played that ending by emotional connection. Its not about how bad Chloe's life was, that just adds fuel to the fire, and this bonus chapter made me cry, and feel reaffirmed in my choice of picking Chloe over Arcadia Bay. Aldo Frakulla She already wanted to leave Arcadia Bay for a long long time, so losing her home was already something she was contemplating. As for her mother, am I the only who feels like its not right for a parent to have to bury their child? When it comes to so many other people there, I'm choosing wrong, I admit it, but again, I played the ending based on how I was feeling at the time (I tend to throw myself into stories, even when watching them on TV).
I'm truly sorry if I was a bit gruff earlier, I've been dealing with some infuriating people in a days long thread elsewhere on the net... And I do like some of the people at Blackwell too, I Really hope that Kate's Family left before the Tornado came in.
Ok how Chloe's life when downhill 1: max says she's leaving 2: William dies 2: Nathen Kills Rachel 3: Arcadia Bay get destroyed 4?: (possibly) EVERYONE dies
If you REALLY think about it.. in life is strange if you chose to sacrifice chloe.... that would mean the last time that Chloe ever saw max was at Williams funeral. She never saw max again after that day.
What’s even more sad is, max stopped contacting Chloe.. and when she moved back.. she neglected to even tell her she was even moving back to AB.. it’s so sad to think about.
@@samburwell8612I might be remembering wrong, but I think Chloe casually mentions having some awareness that Max was back in town going to Blackwell. She just felt so ghosted by Max she didn’t want to face the possibility that Max wasn’t her friend anymore(on top of all the tragedy she was already dealing with) so she was waiting for Max to approach her. Kind of fits with this episode, Chloe delaying Max from talking about moving to Seattle because she knows Max doesn’t like having those difficult conversations.
The entire Life is Strange series is only 9 episodes Crazy how they can fit so many emotions, nostalgia, situations for people to relate with the characters into a game in just 9 episodes. This is no doubt one of my favorite games ever made. Thank you, Square Enix.
I feel like the the sewer adventure thing was foreshadowing how Max gets rewind powers later on, like how jack kept going back to get a better ending. What do you think?
I saw his like lip quivering and I was like. “Is jack..tearing up?” And then he started like wiping his eyes and I was like. “Yep he’s crying” and I was crying with him 😂 😭💕
Annika R he started biting his lip. Then he started wiping his eyes and sniffling and that’s when I realized he was tearing up. Then I started crying with him 😭❤️😂
Honestly THIS is the prequel and the Chloe and Rachel series is the bonus story. This had everything I feel like the audience was looking for. A background story about the friendship between max and Chloe. In the original series we see they talk alot about their friendship and we get plenty of glimpses but I think it's nice and heartwarming to see just a genuine moment of fun and adventure before the storm starts.
I read a theory saying that the tape was made by future Max. I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but that thought makes me feel a little better because I know Max won’t ghost Chloe anymore
@@tjat69 the tape is from Hannah (Max's VA), who felt so bad for Chloe, wanted to leave her genuine comforting words for her. It kinda doesn't add up story wise with Max, but the actual "meaning" behind it is that after all of Hannah's amazing acting work making LiS as special as it is, she deserved to have her final moments as Max ending their canon story with her personal goodbye to Chloe. It also wasn't acted, the emotion in her voice and breaking down into tears are real.
I know. The actual game had so much potential. While I liked getting to know Rachel, there was so much that happened in between that wasn't even touched upon. Like Rachel and Frank hooking up for example. The whole "Rachel's mom" story felt so unnecessary. It was also poorly written and the choices were absolute bull (more so than usual), especially in episode 3.
I cried almost every ep, I feel so attached to Chloe and Max. They are so cute, especially in the future, when they have feeling. F off Rachel, Max and Chloe ALL the way
I never knew I would get so attached to this game, I actually felt like I was max since me and Jack chose the exact same thing, it was fun, sad, happy, sometimes boring, but over all it was a good game. Now we need a Life is Strange: After the Storm
1:30:04 I actually broke down crying at this part, like, full on ugly sobbing. Cause Max leaving her a message reminded me of the time when I had to leave my best friends and hometown and shift to another country because of my father's job. I dunno, memories with my frnds flooded all of a sudden and I randomly started bawling my eyes out. The music didn't help either. This episode was wayy better than the other three combined tbh. Gg.
The message is also actually genuine. After Hannah Telle bonded so much with Max throughout the making of Life is Strange, it wasn't just Max's goodbye to Chloe, but her personal goodbye. Her breaking down into tears at the end was real.
there are a few very well placed bits in this episode that are refencing the future of Chloe and Max...like when it mentions that "they always never fail to save each others lives" and i was like oh god...that nearly made me cry
" Poor Chloe, she went through so much " I felt the same way after Farewell and I used that as my motivation to replay the first season and change my ending. Chloe is one of the strongest characters I have seen in video games and I treasure her so much.
@@anthonycur8630 I agree. Immediately after playing before the storm I got SO ATTACHED to her character. Its hard not to. She has been through so much shit and life has just been so unfair to her. And yes I'm saying this 6 years later because I will defend Chloe until my last breathe lol
This really was an incredible episode. There was also tons of references to the other games (the deer watching over them like Rachel, the pirate towel, the picture max uses to rewind time sitting on the counter etc...). But like a lot of other people I’m not even going to try to express how this game makes me feel cause I’m not even sure how it does. Thank you Deck Nine.
I can't believe how easy it is to jerk some tears out of people just so they forgot that they've wasted an entire hour of their life roaming around a house doing a pointless quest and talking shit with a couple of cringe-inducing characters while also not learning anything new about them in the process.
I'm usually a emotionless human as almost no video game story has ever fazed me. But this episode's ending made me cry, an honor that is shared only with Mordin's death scene from ME3. The themes of friendship and loss are so well portrayed here that even if I don't have the same life experiences as Max and Chloe I felt involved somehow. After watching this I will have to play the first game again, I cannot let the characters go like this. I will have to watch Max sacrifice Chloe to save arcadia bay once again. Sigh. This explains why Chloe is so broken on the original game. She lost her father and Max the same weekend, then she loses Rachel. To make things worse she dies on the canon timeline alone and unaware that Max is nearby crying. Super depressing story, but it made me fee like a human again. 10/10
I don’t really subscribe to the notion of there being a canon ending as such, but just to point out... There’s going to be a continuation of Max and Chloe’s story in a comic book set after Arcadia Bay’s destruction starting this December. If I had to choose an ending to be canon, it’d be Chloe’s surviving because of that (we could get into how it just doesn’t make much sense to me for the narrative conclusion after two full games of making us sympathize with this character being for her to die with no closure, growth or resolution, without ever meeting Max, but that’s a whole other argument and more subjective).
dude you match so much with me. I too only cried these three times in gaming (apart from the two you described, other one was in Mass Effect 3 too, when I thought Grunt died)
Anyone else also realize that since they only texted each other after, that voice message might've been the last time Chloe ever heard Max's voice? Since Max went back to when Chloe got shot, they technically never met up again after the accident. :(
M: Okay, take a step right. (Chloe goes to her right) M: No, no, the other right! C: My other right or your other right? M: My other right. C: Wait, what? MyyGod I love Life is Strange :)
halfway through i realized exactly what day it was... the rest of the playthrough i just had this sense of dread especially during the bit where they were digging... just makes you think of the last time they dug something up
"Farewell" has a double-meaning, I think..... Its a farewell for Max & Chloe and its a farwell for us players, cause I don´t think, that we will see Max or Chloe ever again in Life is Strange. The Story of Max & Chloe is over...... which makes me sad. It made me sad to walk around that house and know, that we will never see it, again......
It frustrated me that he seems to know nothing about Chloe’s life considering he played it all. Like he didn’t know Chloe was a low key genius and super dedicated
@@maddijasnyy yeah and he didn’t know that she liked science THE FIRST THING YOU SEE IN THE EPISODE IS CHLOE BLOWING SOMETHING UP and I think she got into Blackwell with a science scholarship
Seeing everything Chloe went through right before Max left and then before Max returned justifies picking her over the whole town at the end of the first game.
Starbucks is the scariest place, All of the people there are just on their laptop, Doing their homeworks, Is it a coffee place or a library? Nobody knows!!! -jack2018
A farewell from both Max and Chloe’s dad. I cried so much. I had a feeling when Chloe questioned why her parents weren’t home it was because of William’s death.
I know I'm late on this, but I just want to say I find it ironically poetic that the Life is Strange series was made in "Reverse Order" from the original game to the Chloe Prequels in before the Storm, and then to this Episode "Farewell" in the spirit of Max's time-powers. That, and this episode broke my fckn heart. This series has meant so much to me for the past 3 years. Thank you Square Enix, Deck Nine, Ashly Burch, and Hannah Telle for making this beautiful series as Grand as it was.
@Vortiac Yes, she went on strike as a voice actor, but contined to write for them. Also if you played Fortnite Save The World she does the voice of the robot
Chloe is actually really smart, this was especially shown in the alternate timeline where they saved Chloe’s dad William. The combination of her dad dying and Max moving made her become the rebel we all know today. She gave up after all of that. Plus David didn’t help matters much.
Very true. Even with her dad dying, if Max had stayed or at least stayed in contact with Chloe, she might have turned out as a better person. Also, idk why people hate David so much. Sure, he wasnt her actual father and he was strict, but he was a good guy and he meant well. And many times he actually legitimately tried bonding with Chloe
MrFredstt I always thought David meant really well. He just didn't know how to deal with the situation. He wasn't a bad guy. I ready think max is the villain here for not keeping ib touch with Chloe. I'd love to know why she didn't.
Yeah, Chloe was always supposed to be a smart girl who just didn't care enough about schoolwork And some other commenters said that Max, after moving away, didn't know how to approach Chloe after losing so much in such a short time, so she stayed quiet, which made it even worse since the silence would make it even more awkward to start a conversation, and it snowballs from there.
No Chloe wouldn't have ended any better even if things were different. She is already reacting very poorly to the bullying she experiences at Blackwell (ie tampering with a classmate Bunzen burner to get back at her for calling her poor) and when confronted about it, she calls that a minor thing and BLAMES Max for not being there to stop her (wtf ?). For a 14 years-old genius, she has VERY strange pastimes (blowing up her old dolls instead of just throwing them or maybe donating them). And she consistently belittle and puts down Max, her supposed beloved friend, all throughout the two games, be it in her dialogue or thoughts. Also she reacts badly to tense situations and/or betrayal (PERCEIVED in most cases, real in some), going from worrying about Rachel to calling her a traitor after discovering she was in a relationship with Frank and almost giving up on the search... And lets not talk about all the loving support she gives her widowed mother... Nope with what we saw and know now of Chloe I think that even with William around, she would have gone down a dark path sooner or latter especially since none of her parents seem strong-minded enough to steer her away from trouble (William shifting the blame on to Blackwell and the other girl and her parents to Wells'face for the Bunsen incident). Let's keep in mind that what REALLY kept her from that downward spiral in the alternate timeline was THE ACCIDENT, not William's survival or Max keeping a little more in touch. The dialogue shows that her medical condition humbled her down, made her mature and become aware of her parents efforts and sacrifices... and dire financial situations. Original Chloe never EVER worries about her mother financial situation DESPITE being shown a lot of clues about it. She doesn't try to get a job, she doesn't even help around the house (doesn't even do her laundry) and obviously, whatever money she can find is used to buy more pot... which doesn't keep her from having debts, dangerous debts...
For those saying this episode is pointless, here's a little fun fact for you. This episode, as well as the whole prequel really, is based around a concept known as "dramatic irony". Commonly, this is seen in theater, but when done correctly can be put into almost anything. Dramatic irony is when the audience knows what is going to happen, yet the characters do not. Again, when done correctly, this can have a great impact, as did this episode. So yeah, you're MEANT to know what's going to happen.
47:55 "I don't think I could ever handle a real life murder investigation." Hate to break it to yeah, Max...but... Also, Gods damn it I started crying at Bongo. And then I realized this is shortly AFTER William left the house to "Fetch the Queen" to go to the store. When he left...and...was in the crash. And the moment Chloe mentioned "Let's go find something fun to do" ...JUST TO KNOW WHAT IS COMING UP! Did...DID MAX'S FAMILY LEAVE ON THE DAY OF WILLIAM'S WAKE?! Jesus that sucks REALLY badly. Like...NO! The parents could have left Max there to support Chloe. I know it would be a bit of a bother to drive all the way back to get her... BUT HER FATHER JUST FUCKING DIED! William was pretty much a second father to Max, Chloe was pretty much HER SISTER! Not by blood, but that love still stands. Yes, Max not ever contacting Chloe after this is really rude of Max (I can see where she is coming from, I get it) but...her parents could have kept her there for support.
I think max wasn't rude she was just shy and didnt know what to say to her. I think she felt bad that she left her bf alone at the moment where she needed her most. And you know max she is very shy.
Yeah I already wrote a whole comment on how I think Max’s parents have way more to feel guilty about for abandoning Joyce and not caring for Chloe and the connection their daughter had with them. I’m not gonna rewrite that whole rant lol but the more I think about it the more I get pissed at Max’s parents. Even in the first season they were kind of weird in the way they communicated with Max.
I FRIGGING LOST IT WHEN JOYCE CAME HOME and then during the tape I couldn't my eyessssss I don't want it to end...but that was a good ending...wow this game is great
I feel really bad for Chloe... she is being bullied before her dad died and her best friend moved away. I almost cried this is literally one of the most saddest video game's Ive ever seen. This action will have consequences...
Ahhhh! Got me in the feels! I love how they fleshed out William. I knew that that was the day that William was going to die, but I still cried when Chloe's mum turned up, because they made William and their family and friendship so full on, and I hate it how Chloe pushed her mum away already before she started going out with David.
Everytime they introduced a new character that was “bad” to us at first, they all turned good in the end (except for Damon he was just a dick in general) Nathen turned out to be okay in the end even though the only time we feel bad for him is his last call before Jefferson killed him
I guess farewell means the end to these characters Max and Chloe and others because they are having new characters for the next one. these characters were amazing and really enjoyed and made me feel for them made wanna cry even more😭
I wish they would give us a season 2 of Max and Chloe. It would be a great opportunity to show what happens after you lose almost everyone you love except for one.
thats what the comic is for im pretty sure, but chloe is destined to die. so whose to say the storm wouldnt just follow them and they just destroyed more towns out of selfishness just to keep one girl alive.
@@wibblywobbly7804 I thought it was pretty obvious that the storm was there to set the balance cause Chloe didn't die. So it's like, if Chloe stays alive the entire town gets destroyed and the balance is back to normal. Therefore the storm wouldn't go after Chloe again cause Time was satisfied after taking an entire town of people. Or you let Chloe die and there's no need for a balance to be set back to normal(cause the balance was never shifted to begin with) therefore there is no storm if Chloe dies. It's kinda like quid pro quo in a way.
I feel so bad for Chloe, first losing her father, then her best friend, then another best friend and then... Her life. ( If you decided to have her be killed by Nathan. )
wow. I'm pretty sure my brain just destroyed the memory that that was an option.... her life did suck with that ending. I love Arcadia but.... I could never bring myself to choose that ending... even if it is the "right" ending
nisa rojas Problem is I don't care about those characters at all. The game purposely pushed the relationship of Chloe and Max. Yeah it sounds shallow as fuck but honestly I hated the town, I hated most of the people in it. I could care less about anything other than Max or Chloe.
I figured out the timeline of this and what was happening early on. I figured that the game was going to be around for William dying, but I didn't quite realize that this took place AFTER he left to get Joyce until Chloe said something about her parents not being back yet. It sort of explains why Max lost touch with Chloe, because on the one hand, it's a shitty thing to do, abandon someone who is going through all this shit--I don't mean abandon by moving away, but just not being there and not talking to her, returning texts, returning calls... that was a shitty thing for Max to do. But on the other hand... just what do you say to someone going through that? You don't know what to say. You don't know what's the right thing and what's the wrong thing. Chloe had, basically, three bad things happen at once, all on the same day... finding out that her parents knew about the thing with Marisa (and just feeling bad in general about being treated like crap by Marisa), her best friend moving away (granted, she knew about it before, but the mood got all heavy when Max told her), and then Joyce comes home to tell Chloe that her dad was dead... and then... Max leaves. I mean, what was going on that her parents couldn't stay a few days longer or couldn't allow Max to stay a few days longer? But all this going on, and Max doesn't know what to say about it, then a few days go by and Chloe texts her asking where she's gone and then Max feels guilty for not staying in touch and letting so much time pass, which makes it even HARDER for her to keep in touch with Chloe because guilt just piles up on itself until you feel like you can't even move sometimes. It's a horrible cycle. And we barely see Joyce in this game (no speaking part), but when she reaches for Chloe at the funeral and Chloe pulls away, it's like... you can understand Chloe's reaction, but at the same time, Chloe isn't the only one to lose anything. Joyce has lost her husband as well, and who does she have to lean on? No one. She needs someone, and no one is there for her... until David. This game... I mean, you have to know that the ending isn't going to be shiny happy or anything like that, but I didn't expect it to be so devastating. Cried so hard. :(
In the time-travel rewind in the original Life is Strange, Joyce wasn't there when the picture was taken. Max popped into the past right at the point when the picture was taken. Joyce did give Max the picture, and she said something like that it was the last picture that William had ever taken, but she wasn't there.
Life is Strange is such a great game, and it's the main reason why I'm going to university for game design. I want to be able to make an amazing game like Life is Strange which provides a strong emotional connection to the characters. The music fits the story perfectly and this game is truly a piece of art. I will create a game like Life is Strange, that is my sole aspiration in my life.
I'm not nearly as close to uni as you, but I feel the exact same way. I feel so inspired by games like this and it's so amazing how emotionally invested and connected you become to not only the game itself, but the characters. This is a dream job of mine in the far future, good luck to you also! I hope you make your dream come true!
Dang it... this broke my heart. It took me back to 2014 when the police came over to my mom’s to tell us my older sister was found dead from suicide. I’m bawling my eyes out right now. Losing a loved one hearts... especially when it’s unexpected 💔
I empathise you with your feelings, it's true losing those we love or even when we loved someone and turned out to be 100% fake, it crushes you and breaks the walls we spend so much time to build, least from darkness those who truly are worth all the love, even if they don't feel like they do, are those who are fighting the dark and brightens up the world, such as yourself, jack and many more. I'm so so sorry for your loss I think that was what the ending did well to show realistically, how tragedy can occur at the most randomest of times. After playing this, I actually gave my parents a big hug
my mom passed away in november 2016 from a stroke. i woke up to her lifeless body and never got to say my goodbyes, our how much i loved her before she left. i love her so much
And when Max looks at the book in Chloe's parents' room and says, "I don't think I could handle a real-life murder investigation." Oh, you will, girl. You will.
When Max picked up that photo from the kitchen counter I instantly realized what was about to happen and I how much I was gonna cry. I feel so bad for Chloe and how it all just came crushing down in an instant. Life can truly be so unfair.
Wolfy Fox Gaming Yup. If you look closely in Ep.3 of the 1st season, you can read Max's file in the Principal's office, it says that she was in "IEP" (I think it's Individualized Education Program in English, but i'm not really sure) which is a program for people having some sort of "issues", such as being socially anxious, or having depression etc.. Which is probably why Max hadn't kept in touch with Chloe :/
Just tell urself that in the end, despite how depressing and relatable the game is, it is just a game, it's not real The magic of video games that they can make us feel all of these emotions in the comfort of our chairs and it's a good thing to let those kind of emotions

I knew what was coming but the visuals broke me. I haven't cried this hard over a videogame in a long time. A fantastic game, sure it had it's moments of being imperfect, but the story is great and you get so attached to the characters.
I'm not crying - I'm just cutting up onions here! 😭 The Polaroid picture in the kitchen let's you know that it's was William's last day. It was the last one he ever took, before he left home... for the final time.
This makes me kind of sad since it hit so close to home for me, me and my best friend thought we were gonna hang out every single day and everything was gonna be fun but then i moved a few miles away and our friendship got all screwed up and now i go over to his house once every 2 months and we rarely talk anymore so i know exactly what kind of pain she goes through
New characters just doesnt compare to the first life is strange I could never get immersed I'm srry id take rewinding time over picking up objects with my mind any day
I cried at the end too. It hurt to see Chloe in pain. This episode was beautiful and cutsie and adorable. Also I enjoyed your singing at the beginning :)
Me too. I mean, they obviously knew Chloe's parents and were friends with them, and they knew how close Chloe and Max were. Moving away would be hard for the girls on its own, so why would they move on the day that Chloe needed Max the most? Did they not care about the funeral of a friend?
I really wish that the other ‘Before the storm’ episodes were set like this one. I feel like this would have been way more interesting, and I honestly enjoyed this part so much! I could tell Jack did too, he had so many heartfelt smiles here! 😇
Thank you for bringing us on this journey jack.together we cried we laughed we cringed.and many more!this game is so small but effective i just fucking love it Jack this is not the end While another company *deck nine* was working on the prequel the real one is producing a s2 Who knows when it will be published but it's not the end!
Also I agree that this episode was everything that BTS wasn’t. It was heartwarming yet heartbreaking all at once whereas the BTS was just a rushed stand-in where all the emotions felt forced and awkward.

At least, they won't cause even more suffer to Chloe with the sequel. Let's just think she is happy with Max.
I kinda freaked out when they were digging for the treasure, because the last time we saw them digging something up... Well. Instead of happy memories, they found tragic ones.

I need Life Is Strange: After The Storm
André Marques no the storm happens at the very end of the first one
and now there is life is strange 2 which is kinda looks like chronicle
Life is strange 2 isn't the chronicale of the original Life is Strange. It follows a completely different story.
I couldn’t get the thought out of my head that little Rachel amber is out there somewhere during this
Omg YESS
Lol same! I wish we got to see her as a kid!
Lol same
I just wanted to see rachel and chloe mk out
3Point Tuber kinda weird if that’s all you wanted
That's pretty deep
Yea Chloe had it pretty rough. It's a shame. It just goes to show you life isn't all fun and games. Life can be dark and horrific.
This is so true, it makes you feel bad for Chloe.
Oh no :,(
I always kill an entire town for Chloe, because 99.9% of the town is full of assholes.
If you consider the unaltered timeline, then it makes you feel even more depressed...Chloe is shot and dies alone in a bathroom, not knowing her best friend is back. Her life completely crumbled.
Weird, I feel empty
I just commented about this, god, it's so heartbreaking to think about. She needed someone so badly.
she just needed one person. i swear i can't stop crying
I'm starting to think the creators like torturing poor Chloe.
Not if you chose to sacrifice arcadia bay like me, bae before bay
Nathen is an asshole. Kills rachel (actually his friend) and chloe.

Sameee
exactly what i was thinking
I THOUGHT THAT TOO I THOUGHT JACK WOULD TOO
That ending, just tore at my heartstrings.... Everything just falling down around Chloe, losing her best friend on the day of her Dad's Funeral, while also having to fit in at a new school, where she doesn't have anyone....
I will Always choose to save Chloe.......
was I seriously the only one who killed the hell out of Chloe? It really feels like it.
I agree.
Ok how Chloe's life when downhill
1: max says she's leaving
2: William dies
2: Nathen Kills Rachel
3: Arcadia Bay get destroyed
4?: (possibly) EVERYONE dies
in The Canon ending Max goes back in time and lets Chloe die......

@Watcher yep
I dont think I could ever bring myself to sacrifice Chloe... no matter if it is the "right" ending
@@ma-0xff0000 I don't think he means cannon, rather that would be what would happen if Max didn't have the time travel powera

She should've written the rest of Before the storm tbh. Maybe then it would've had more of a point.
Wow. That's crazy
Diamond Beau Lol, what? If a parent is strict that means they’re evil, according to you?
MrFredstt I always thought David meant really well. He just didn't know how to deal with the situation. He wasn't a bad guy. I ready think max is the villain here for not keeping ib touch with Chloe. I'd love to know why she didn't.
Yeah, Chloe was always supposed to be a smart girl who just didn't care enough about schoolwork
And some other commenters said that Max, after moving away, didn't know how to approach Chloe after losing so much in such a short time, so she stayed quiet, which made it even worse since the silence would make it even more awkward to start a conversation, and it snowballs from there.
I reconized the picture Max picked up then I knew it was the day William died and wow my feels I'm so close to crying

At that point in my playthrough I let go of the mouse and keyboard and sat there for a minute realizing what day it was
For those saying this episode is pointless, here's a little fun fact for you.
Of course light yagami would teach us literature techniques xD
I literally was taught this last month
Light Yagami you are dead
Light Yagami I Love Death Note!!
I recentley learned about that type of irony so im glad i learned it and realised it was dramatic irony
So when done correctly, can it be put into pizza?
47:55 "I don't think I could ever handle a real life murder investigation."
Hate to break it to yeah, Max...but...
Ill be honest im a big relatively tough dude but i lost it at the end i cried for what seemed to be hours
@Exotic Butters proof?
Her life. ( If you decided to have her be killed by Nathan. )
Brendon Metten fuck that I always choose to save Chloe. She went through more shit than all of Arcadia combined. Fuck that town it's a dumpster fire.
wow. I'm pretty sure my brain just destroyed the memory that that was an option.... her life did suck with that ending. I love Arcadia but.... I could never bring myself to choose that ending... even if it is the "right" ending
FlengeHopper but that option kills her mom, Warren, and the few good people in Arcadia Bay
nisa rojas Problem is I don't care about those characters at all. The game purposely pushed the relationship of Chloe and Max. Yeah it sounds shallow as fuck but honestly I hated the town, I hated most of the people in it. I could care less about anything other than Max or Chloe.
FlengeHopper *couldn’t
The timeline is actually fucked up in this episode.
The photo was taken, yet Joyce was there
The photo of Chloe and Max, you mean? William took that picture. I'm not sure which you mean. Not denying that the timeline could be fucked up.
I was thinking about the one of Chloe and Max, that William took.
The one Max used when she came back in time and saved William
In the time-travel rewind in the original Life is Strange, Joyce wasn't there when the picture was taken. Max popped into the past right at the point when the picture was taken. Joyce did give Max the picture, and she said something like that it was the last picture that William had ever taken, but she wasn't there.
No she wasn't there. The reason William died is because she called home, and asked for him to pick her up.
1:16:28 that’s the way Chloe sat with Rachel in her truck when Rachel was listening to Chloe vent 😢
Good luck man!
Devesh Varma thank you :)
BritePlays Good luck!!
Thanks guys, Jack's comment sections are always so positive xD
Dang it... this broke my heart.
Hang in there we never walk alone friend :)
Sorry for your loss, hang in there
sorry for your loss
I'm so so sorry for your loss
I think that was what the ending did well to show realistically, how tragedy can occur at the most randomest of times. After playing this, I actually gave my parents a big hug
my mom passed away in november 2016 from a stroke. i woke up to her lifeless body and never got to say my goodbyes, our how much i loved her before she left. i love her so much
anyone else think of them digging up Rachel in the junkyard during the treasure hunt?
Keith Pelsinski Yeeeep
i wish i had a friend like them DX
YES !! i got chills
And when Max looks at the book in Chloe's parents' room and says, "I don't think I could handle a real-life murder investigation." Oh, you will, girl. You will.
That wouldnt make sense continuity wise.
"Guys this videos gonna get demonitized from all these insults"
Jack: *FUUCCK*
*THAT’S ANOTHER DOLLAR FOR THE SWEAR JAR!*
hella dude yeah I don't get that lol she always got on to him for swearing but she did the exact same thing 😂
*YOU MEAN YOUR COLLEGE FUND*
my fucking beans
hella dude "You're bankrupting me!"
When Max picked up that photo from the kitchen counter I instantly realized what was about to happen and I how much I was gonna cry.
I feel so bad for Chloe and how it all just came crushing down in an instant.
Life can truly be so unfair.
Jack:Oh No Guys They are saying bad things to each other this video will get dimonitised
*Literally a few moments later*
Jack:FUCK
LOL. I noticed that.
Demonetized*
This whole bonus episode was like its own game. The whole thing, especially the end, gave me some feels. This whole game series is totally underrated.
Didn't Max stop messageing Chloe for years and Chloe would keep messageing her?
Evan Thordarson: thats sad af
You are correct I kept thinking about that
Wolfy Fox Gaming Yup.
Ynnej x Thanks for the inside on the thing! Didnt know about this
Hurgoth Amderson You're welcome !
That fork joke was hilarious and you know it. This gave me so many feels.
hi yes can someone tell me how to emotionally recover from this game
Just tell urself that in the end, despite how depressing and relatable the game is, it is just a game, it's not real
The magic of video games that they can make us feel all of these emotions in the comfort of our chairs and it's a good thing to let those kind of emotions
Silent Mochi it’s been months and I still can’t recover
It's been TWO YEARS and I can't stop crying 😭😭😭
Think about magic unicorn
@@tohidsabagh6089 yikes
the life is strange series makes me cry and depressed. and when I watched the first one and found out Rachel was killed I didn't think much of it like didn't make me upset, then before the storm came out I watched...then meeting Rachel getting to know her and Chloe dating her and me falling in love with Rachel and Chloe+Rachel I got sooo upset that I almost never watched the 3rd episode and even bonus episode. now I'm always depressed thinking about it.
~my life
if you watch LiS 2 with Sean then you cannot cry about LiS 1
When they said life is strange changed ur life, I doubted it. Until it actually changed my life.
I’m not sure what to do with all these feelings someone take them please.
Katie Dodson (take)
you aren't alone...i have cried more on this game than any other...but that is why it is why i love it
SAME. No matter how many times I’ve cried over something this game makes me cry harder than anything I wasn’t ready 😅😭
Poor Jack he actually was crying ♡
MaxMofo 1127 lol lil pussy i never cried XD sniff sniff who the fuck is cutting onions
ecipse [: lol
MaxMofo 1127 It's sad, but sweet at the same time. Ever since I started watching the Channel, I fell instantly in love with Jack's willingness to wear his Beautiful Irish Heart on his sleeve.
💚🤗🇮🇪🍀🤗💚
I knew what was coming but the visuals broke me. I haven't cried this hard over a videogame in a long time. A fantastic game, sure it had it's moments of being imperfect, but the story is great and you get so attached to the characters.
this is one of the few games that actually makes me genuinely cry, it hits home too hard. despite the obvious flaws i love this game to bits,
tIME TO BINGE BEFORE THE STORM THEN THE ORIGINAL GAME AGAIN WH O O F E E LI N GS
Same, after watching this live, I went and binged every single episode in both games
Lol I just did watch all of it. Almost 22 hrs in 3 days
Splitsy ikr
Watching before the storm then the original feels much better. You get more of the “ feels”
I was thinking about it, but I don't know if I can handle that hahaha xD
Ashly Birch writing it really makes a huge difference. This was beautiful.
she did???
@@cateebb yepper.
This just goes to show how much it is to take time just to spend the time you have to be with the people you love and care about. Love you all. ;)
Jack shadow123 So true. Especially to those that are those closest to you.
Love u to!! ;)
Hi Jack 🤗 thanks for the vids your my vawret youtuber😎
stop lying to yourself. No you don't
Love you too PMA
I'm not crying - I'm just cutting up onions here! 😭
The Polaroid picture in the kitchen let's you know that it's was William's last day. It was the last one he ever took, before he left home... for the final time.
This makes me kind of sad since it hit so close to home for me, me and my best friend thought we were gonna hang out every single day and everything was gonna be fun but then i moved a few miles away and our friendship got all screwed up and now i go over to his house once every 2 months and we rarely talk anymore so i know exactly what kind of pain she goes through
And not to mention he's 6'5" and I'm only 6'0" just like Chloe and Max
join a crusade instead, maybe it will get better
WE WILL TAKE JERUSALEM!
dang
The background music it's so classic
I always wanted to know what the music is called.
No the music the calm music Jack used in the very beginning of the video.
It's all good
Can someone pls tell me too
Jack: “she actually called it sharkie!😂”
Mr. Sharkie: “that’s MR. Sharkie to you!🧐”
It's so sad knowing this is the last time we see Max and Chloe, I love the new characters and all but dam I miss them I can't lie
New characters just doesnt compare to the first life is strange I could never get immersed I'm srry id take rewinding time over picking up objects with my mind any day
this was like my first game considering i played BTS before LIS
I cried at the end too. It hurt to see Chloe in pain. This episode was beautiful and cutsie and adorable. Also I enjoyed your singing at the beginning :)
Wouldn't Max's parents at least delay moving to let max comfort Chloe for a while?
I thought it was really callous of her parents to just leave like that.
Me too. I mean, they obviously knew Chloe's parents and were friends with them, and they knew how close Chloe and Max were. Moving away would be hard for the girls on its own, so why would they move on the day that Chloe needed Max the most? Did they not care about the funeral of a friend?
ImGomi exactly
"Life is Strange"
ImGomi It could've been a scheduled thing, such as them already having bought the plane tickets or something.
I really wish that the other ‘Before the storm’ episodes were set like this one. I feel like this would have been way more interesting, and I honestly enjoyed this part so much! I could tell Jack did too, he had so many heartfelt smiles here! 😇
I love how Sean says everything works out in the first game even though either chloe or the whole town die
Thank you for bringing us on this journey jack.together we cried we laughed we cringed.and many more!this game is so small but effective i just fucking love it
Jack this is not the end
While another company *deck nine* was working on the prequel the real one is producing a s2
Who knows when it will be published but it's not the end!
GhostPlay no max and chloe?!? Oh nooo
LukaszTheGamer9 It’s the end they said that they will have another life is strange but it will be with new characters
GhostPlay 🙏🏻😭😭
Also I agree that this episode was everything that BTS wasn’t. It was heartwarming yet heartbreaking all at once whereas the BTS was just a rushed stand-in where all the emotions felt forced and awkward.
goddamit, that's the third time i've cried because of this game.
DragonicQueen Xx me 2
For me, the 60tn.
Max RIGHT
You know a game's emotional when Sean starts crying
