Hi Alicia, I have just found this channel and thank you for your patience in making this delicious looking curd😍. The curds and whey in the nursery rhyme are the liquid and solid parts of milk when an acid like vinegar or lemon juice is added, as in cheese making . Another name for the curds is cottage cheese. This is what Miss Muffet had for her lunch!
I do enjoy a great curd! I don’t think I have ever had Blackberry.. how delicious that sounds! Blackberry Enthusiast here! 😊.. you’re a great Mama!! Really, you were made for this! 💜💖.. I may have to try this recipe! Thanks, Alicia!! ❤
WOW! This is the first time I have ever come to your Hot mess express channel, and I admire you so much for putting so much effort into a new dish! You have so much patience, and not just with children!! It looks delicious. I got here accidentally, so I hope I can find it in the morning to observe the result!
I'd say get a plain cotton tea towel (flour sack material; Walmart carries them in packs of 10, I believe) and put the pulp in that. Then SQUEEZE THE BEJABBERS out of it. That might speed things up, and also get you the most juice, so less waste...
I love when you have a cooking video. I made a lemon curd tart along time ago. I now wonder if I can make a blackberry one now. I bet blackberry curd would be great on scones. The color is beautiful!
Hello, that looks so delicious! That would be great as a filling for a cake. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. You know, i always like to have a little bit of filling to add to the whip cream in my cream puffs. Have a fantastic day!
Oh Alicia you have so much patience to squeeze the blackberrys. Thank you for showing us how to make curd. It's a shame Anna did'nt like it. By the way I like your T-shirt. ❤❤
Have never had blackberry curd & looking fwd to trying it ... something tells me it's worth the work. Luckily, the "Wild Mountain Blackberry" is a sweet berry that's native to the Pacific NW from the lush inland mountains to the ocean. They're everywhere lol. Ty Alicia!
Thank heavens I kept a tool that came with my older Kitchen Aid. I was unhappy to find it is no longer made. It's a wooden paddle that works with a sieve plate in a short open bottom bowl, a ring essentially. It had been a lifesaver many a time when I need to put something through a sieve. I'm guessing blackberries grow like weeds in New Jersey. You aren't called the Garden State for nothing.
@@SharonPerson-hm9dsHi, Thank you for the sweet comment. When I saw that it said 'Hot Mess' I'm like oh my goodness I know who needs that.😊 When I ordered it I thought it was thermal material . Then Alicia said that it is more like a sweater. She should be able to get some wear out of it. It does get cold there. Hope you're doing well. Cannot believe we are going into November already. Are you ready for Halloween? 🎃 Have a blessed day.
@Debbie25Brenham Hi Debbie. Definitely gets cold in New Jersey and New England, where I am. Crazy weather right now; usually in the 50's, but for a few days, we're having 70's before dropping back to 50's again. Last week flew out to middle grandchild's housewarming. It's their first home, so very exciting. Have been a little under the weather since our return, though. Put the Halloween candy into it's spooky bucket yesterday, but I'm not up to attending our neighborhood get-together before all the kids start trick or treating. 👻🎃🍬🍭🍫 Enjoy your day! God Bless.❤️
Thanks Alicia your prepare with as much love as you raise the girls and love Walt.! In my opinoin Bobby Flay cheats, he has not gone up against many who can be a channeling competitator. More slam dunks. I enjoyed your sham hot mess. Blessings to all.
Thanks for showing us how to make blackberry curd. I want to try. I have blackberries in the freezer that we picked. You might try cheesecloth and squeeze them. I do that for jam. Just make sure you wear gloves so not to stain your hands
I’ve only had Lemon Curd and there’s a brand you can purchase in the grocery stores called Bonne Maman Lemon Curd. Bagels with cream cheese and Lemon Curd are delicious!!! And now your Blackberry Curd looks and sounds delicious too!!!💕
You might try mushing the berries up in a blender or processor and then put them through the strainer or try to find one of those handy dandy “food mills” that are used for jam and jelly making, sounds delicious but I don’t know if I have your patience (I know I don’t)😂😘
Alicia. I saw a video today that i wanted to pass on. Take an apple and cut off about 1/4. Put a popsicle stick in the rest of the apple. Cover the cut part with peanut butter and cover that with chocolate. I thought you might use it or some version of it. ❤
Made lemon curd..put it in a tart shell and topped with whipped cream .they look like tiny pies....delish...Blackberries are my fave, so will try it.great instruction, but I know me, and the berries are going in my blender...it will pulverize those seeds..guess that Magic Bullet would do the same..
Looks delicious 😋. I'm surprised you use the whole egg and not just the yolks 😊 but guess that works too. ❤ Usually you add the eggs in slowly while the fruit and sugar is cooking otherwise the eggs scramble but you found an easier recipe. I watch alot of cooking shows 😂.
Would it have worked if you had gently heated the fruit over a low heat as quite a bit of juice comes out that way then pass through the sieve . But it looked absolutely delicious thanks for sharing xx

I have never tried making churd, thanks. I will try now. we have a bunch of bushes ❤❤ they grow wild here in Northern California
I had wild blackberries near the woods as a child living in South Jersey too.
Omg.....soooo much work !! Lol. 😮😮😊

You stick a spoon in and if the curd clings to the spoon and you can swipe it with your finger then it's done 😊
Perfect pancakes
Towards the end…….. you can squeeze the seeds through several layers of cheese cloth. To get every drop.
I'll have to remember that! Thank you🤗❤️❤️
I used to have a recipe for Meyers Lemon Curd
Would it have worked if you had gently heated the fruit over a low heat as quite a bit of juice comes out that way then pass through the sieve . But it looked absolutely delicious thanks for sharing xx
You can put the remaining black berry puree on yogurt or topping for ice cream
If you are going to do a cooking segment you might want to speed things up!
Left-handed is the right way ❤❤❤
