    Correction: 9:14 The expression for Pcr should have Le squared in the denominator, yielding 12.3 kips for Pcr, and 4.39 kips for P.

    the effective length should be l/✓2 instead of 0.7 L cause in general formula of Effective length it should be with Pi so convert 20.19 into approximation of (2pi)^2

    I have a question that I could do with help on: "It is desirable to know the length of column which will first buckle at a load which causes the material to reach its yield stress given that the member is a 10mm square section. The youngs modulus is 215GN/m^2 and its yeild stress is 250MN/m^2. At what length is citerion satisfied? (fixed - free condition)

      If force over area causes an axial stress equal to the yield strength, the column will yield. Solve for F.
      Substitute that F as the critical load in Euler's Formula with the effective length of a fixed-free end. Solve for L.

    sir i need your help regarding above buckling subject,i am coffee processing machinery manufacturer in india ,i fabricated one coffee storage rectangle silo for our client with 12 no colum of 200mm i section length 2.5 meeter ,and abobe on this colum there is approximatly 30'length x 20' width x 19' hight coffee storage silo mounted (aproximatly it store 250 tonne of Raw coffee) , which is not filled yet before filling i have to check about bickling please help me ,i wll send drawing if you share mail id

    in the example at the end, I am not getting the same result. my Pcr is around 7900 instead of 49 kips.... i am using the exact same formula and values, so am i doing something wrong?
