    Gents, do you like the background music?
    This is my first time trying it, so please hit reply and let me know - yes or no?

      The background music is elegant.

    • @foxbatmotorsports
      @foxbatmotorsports 8 месяцев назад

      Yes, the background music is definitely working, for reasons I can't explain it adds a certain elegance to an already elevated video quality.

    • @awalton9024
      @awalton9024 8 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, it works. Even though you are standing in a semi-kitchen the video has an aura of polish. You're presentation matches with the music and the setting fades away. Without the music there would be a strange incongruent contrast with the setting.

    Classic English wear, western workwear, and American prep are the only styles I wear and do mix some styles with each other. I never knew I was subconsciously imitating Ralph Lauren. I'll have to pay more attention to him and his brand.
    Blue jeans with boots or suede chukkas, a rugby or polo shirt and a Barbour or guncheck tweed jacket are my go to daily wear. A real three in one!

    For me I find what works best for me is a blend of J. press, Brooks Brothers, and Ralph Lauren. It’s timeless elegance in pieces I’ve had for forty years that pair seamlessly with something I bought just yesterday. I was 17 the Year Ralph Lauren launched his business so therefore I have on a very real sense and personal level grown up with him. I’m lucky to have seen his evolution as a designer and style influencer first hand over the years. I must commend you on your taste and personal style, it’s heartwarming to see a young man who appreciates and values great style and the art of being a gentleman. Someone who will carry on this tradition long after Ralph and I and others like us are gone.

    I am a Gen X, so older than your demographic. I suppose I would say my preference is classic American style. Oxford button downs, grey flannel, chinos or khaki. Also, in the last 5 years, I have gotten away from anything with big logos.

    I much appreciate Ralph Lauren's clothing...however, if I had to define and describe my personal style and taste when it comes to men's clothes I would say I consider myself to have a blended aesthetic, my wardrobe consists of vintage pieces as well as contemporary style barring anything that falls under the category of being trendy! The background music was pleasurable.

    Could you do a video about eyeglasses?
    I’m eager to enhance my intellectual look and would appreciate some recommendations for stylish eyeglasses, even though I don’t actually need them. I’m currently shopping for glasses but I’m not sure which style would suit me best. I’m aiming for an ‘old money’ look that pairs well with turtlenecks and suits for lecturing at University, something versatile and sophisticated.
    Excellent video as always!

    We develop personal style over many years. Trial and error. Classic designs last the test of time. You do not need a lot of clothes or shoes. Donate what no longer suits your personal style. I am not a fan of tweed. I have one that I can wear when it gets cold. Otherwise it is wool. A couple of linen blazers for summer. These can be worn with contrasting trousers or a very similar color for a monochromatic look. Crew neck sweaters can be your friends.

    Dear Gent,
    Something you didn't mention about Ralph Lauren is that when you are at his social level no one is going to argue with your dress sense. If I were to go out wearing a dinner jacket over denims, I'd get sectioned.

    Living in Miami means casual warm weather duds. I bought Ralph Lauren Polo short sleeve shirts almost exclusively for 33 years because they're worth it. You get a style bump of street cred but the essence of those shirts is not that. Their quality cannot be topped in the hundred buck range. Sometimes they'll last me and keep looking great without fading or sagging for10 years in hot weather with blazing sun.
    The problems with buying them began when I moved to South America. There is no legit store for them in my city so I began ordering them on line and what I got was a rude awakening as to authenticity, fit and durability. I'm flooded with fakes and even from Amazon which normally I'd swear by. I can't be bothered to try to return them because of the hassle involved in doing that here. I just move on a bit more disappointed and cynical than before. Amazon really needs to tighten up the ship in this regard.

    Make him Ralph "Smith" and put him in that tux and jeans and we laugh as we pass him by. His head is too big, his shoulders too narrow and that confidence is spelled "$". Sure its personal preference but being outlandish only works if you have the bank account to be awed. Hero worship is so passe". Be you, it's easier and authentic.
