At least it was a local con! The net profit might not be amazing but the effort seems to be super minimal so that’s good. Personally, I don’t mind events like that as long as it doesn’t feel like a waste of my time (like I had to sacrifice something for it) or as long as there wasnt a better event happening at the same time. Money is money! Lol
Exactly! I've come to learn over this past year that even if I hit 1k in sales at a local event, it's a win 👍 and sometimes I'd be okay with it too if I traveled 1-2 hours for an event, as long as expenses weren't too high! I'm trying not to put myself down too much, cuz yes! Money is money 😅😅
I saw you at collective con and was able to get 2 mini prints and one of your ouran pins! I'm so happy with them and the vlog has been so fun to watch :)
Do you do cons full time? Or do you have an extra job along with it? I'm a young artist and I really wanna be able to do conventions full time when I'm older. I recently did my local comic con and just got into a Fan Expo, do you think it's plausible?
Congratulations on getting into Fan Expo Philly!! I'm currently doing this full time while running my online shop and RUclips, but I used to have a full time job as an art teacher while running the business. There's a big chance I may switch back to doing cons and running my business part time, though! It's possible to completely do this full time, but it's heavily recommended that you have a good amount of money in your savings account in case you need it during low-income times (such as months where you don't have events or if you see a dip in sales during a given month). So planning things out before doing this full time when you're older is the best route!
