This was my first time attending the festival and honestly not many people were excited when they announced Nooran Sister's name because although their songs were getting popular their names were pretty unknown to general listeners . But my oh my when they started blasting and went for about 2 hours with the same immense and unbelievable power whole stadium went crazy. People were dancing like they have been possessed including myself. By the time they reached this song 'Mast Qalandar' (which is a famous song in the subcontinent) I discovered I have no shirts on my upper body and sweating profusely from the sheer excitement and joy. Remember it was the winter season in Dhaka. I've listened to many artists and attended several concerts in my life but none of them matched that one gig and Nooran Sisters. Glory to them, glory to the music. Peace ✌️
Divine stuff. At 5:58 it seems like she kinda "improvised" the melody and showed the tabla player with her arm gestures how the beat is supposed to be. And then at 7:37 she goes to the same verse again but this time the tabla player plays the beat as she had instructed him previously. Love it!

I was at this concert, it was UNBELIEVABLE in person. By the end we were so mesmerised, such a build up to the end, everyone was on their feet with their hands to the sky in appreciation for about 10 minutes. Never seen anything like it at a festival, they really touched our souls in a way only Sufi singers can. Jyoti’s voice has a lot of power. The Nooran sisters are Sufi Muslims from Jalandhar, Indian side of Punjab so Punjabi is their mother tongue, they introduce the song in Punjabi, but this song is actually in the Sindhi language. This song belongs equally to Pakistan, India and Bangladesh as it’s beloved by all 3 nations and famous artists from all three countries have covered it with their own excellent versions.

These two sisters are remedies for whatever stress you have. They are sent by God to flaunt what he can create. They should live forever. If you try to describe their singing, you can't and you shouldn't. Just get immersed in it.
