One of the most beautiful cars ever built.

My favorite year. I always loved the style and lines on this car too. The all chrome front is the icing on the cake for me. True beauty!

No one makes 'em like this anymore. Studebaker was WAY ahead of its time in styling and power.

My first car was a 55 Studebaker Presidential Starliner. Amazing the grille is all chrome. Had a 53 Commander for a little while. Acar ahead of its time, especially the styling.

Love these cars. Agree 53 and 54 were better looking. Seems they always say we gotta do something. 350 is not an issue for me. Would love to have owned it.

My Dad had one of these. What a machine! I'd love to get my hands onto one of them (unfortunately there don't seem to be any left in South Africa)

Was it a front-heavy with that big engine? The lines of the car are beautiful. The original "foreign look" '53 two door hard top was the most beautiful version by far. After that, they just kept adding gingerbread, and junked it up. The 4 door models of this design era all looked awkward. But the sleek 2 door models were perfect except for their later excessive jazzy chrome treatment.

All good, nice job, but a 289 Studebaker V8 would be a better choice. I have a rare Lark convertible..body off frame restoration...with the original 259...and an electronic ignition, split master with front disk...wish this was the same, has to have a Studebaker 'heart'...but what a beautiful job it is ... nice work.

Studebaker never had gotten the credit they deserved for their innovative styling. The mustang fastback, barracuda, camaro and firebird had used this similar roofline styling

These Speedsters are commanding a lot of money lately .. But with out its original 289 4 barrel carb this one will be considerable less money .. Beautiful cars but not my color choice that is for sure ..

As comfortable as a buckboard and just about as good looking. Most everything on the car was an add-on, after the fact, and usually did not stay-on, for long. This one, I am sure, has all the inherent gremlins removed.
