As a long time (lifelong) student and believer in the art music education, first of all, I love the message of Director- Robert Selaiden. His students are very blessed to have him in their lives. He is an absolutely remarkable teacher, leader, and inspiration to his students and all of us colleagues. This documentary should be shown in all music education universities. "It's not about trophies", he says. Bravo, Robert! You are so right, sir. It is about team effort, relationships, and most of all finding yourself, your voice, your confidence through hard, dedicated work. Way to go Leander H.S. Marching Band! (Don Haynes - Austin, Tx)
At 3:47 I see a wild me (the blonde guard girl) I still remember coming off that field in tears after finals, that show and the journey leading up to it has been crazy and a challenge but I'm so glad I went on the trip. :)

None of the students were alive in 99? Is it a band and of all underclassmen?
I'm pretty sure seniors and half the juniors should have been alive in 99
jirehguy just a hyperbole, no need to overanalyse :P
jirehguy I'm a member of the band. And actually I was born in 99. when they went I was just 11 months
jirehguy Yes the band is made up of entirely 9th and 10th graders only. Once you become a junior you get kicked out of band
it was a bit of an exaggeration
