I met Mike in 1990 when I worked as a monitor engineer for a band he was playing in. Before that I was still thinking about persuing drumming as a career. Shortly after meeting Mike I sold my drums and decided to do live sound as a career. I knew that I would never reach the level he was already at. Thanks Mike for helping me with that career descision and now can you give me the kick.
Alle die, die für Mike Thrones Arbeit hier mit Corkentellis den Daumen runter gegeben haben, sind einfach nur neidisch. Ich bin ebenfalls Schlagzeuger und er bekommt von mir einen Daumen hoch. Klasse Arbeit Mike!!

Still amassing mike. I came here today to take the link to show my friends in a Swedish music group at FB. See ye next autumn in Gothenburg. So long until then :D Damn i forgot to comment the part in the video at 5:30 and I did see it the first time I watched it 10 years ago... No more comments needed... ;)
Nice going with Saga! When I drive to NYC at night, I like to hear On The Loose when going over a bridge. It must be awesome playing it live ...with Saga!
I know all the songs by SAGA but this Corkentelli is the most demanding piece of music, Mike Thorne must have practiced this piece like a donkey to play it so perfectly, I also mean the electric guitar and keyboard have reached their limits, everything has live like one Swiss clockwork matched, error-free, respect to all musicians. SAGA, it was a very good choice to have Mike Thorne as drummer. He fits into the band very well, at the time I thought, who should replace Steve Negus my role model. Brian Doerner and Christian Simpson weren't bad, but I couldn't get used to them, I'm more than satisfied with Mike Thorne. I don't know how the other SAGA fans see it. You are welcome to give me your opinion.
I did saw this the first time it was published, forgot to hit the like button then :D So amazing...
Great playing, Mike. Congrats on the spot with Saga. Good luck in the future. - Alamu Andel, percussionist with Afro-Fusion trio "Alamu"

Amazing Mike. You make it look easy. I love how casually you lost the stick and got another and kept playing. Nice touch!
I love that he picks the hardest and flashiest Saga track of all time. And my favorite actually. Insane! Congrats!

Nice!!
If you don't get the gig, there's something wrong with the universe.
With all these drummers on RUclips the site should have a handicap sticker.
