Also west of the Sphinx Observatory is the 2,970 metres summit of the Schilthorn, lying above the village of Murren. The four stage cable car which starts at Stechelberg, passes through Gimmelwald, Murren, Birg, then to the summit. The Swiss construction company who built this in the 1960s had to set up an agreement with the Russian government to use Russian helicopters to construct the uppermost buildings on the summit. Some of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service " was filmed here. The Schilthorn's buildings include a restaurant, Piz Gloria, that slowly rotates and it's the beginning of the Inferno ski race to Lauterbrunnen.
