    In 1981, I bought a brand new left over 1980 RM 125 for $1000. I only weighed about 125 lbs at the time and it was the most awesome dirt bike I've ever ridden. It's like it didn't even know it had me on it. Super fast would take hard hits, and jumped awesomely. My first brand new motorcycle. I was tired of working on other people's used beat up crap that I would buy. Now I have a gas gas EX250 two stroke and it sure is bringing back some memories. 60 years old and still having fun. 🛵

  • @davebarlow6457
    @davebarlow6457 4 месяца назад +1

    Amazing , as you say , still quick even by today's standards. The 81 RM 125 was the game changer though , I think I've seen one on this channel before. With it's water cooled engine and full floater suspension system nothing could get close to it that year. For me 1981 seemed to be the year all the serious development started for all the manufacturers. Some of the late eighties 250 2 strokes would still be competitive if raced today. As far as I know the very latest YZ 250 2 stroke engine isn't a million miles away from a 1989 model , I may be wrong though.
    Keep up the great work guys featuring all these amazing bikes.

    In my 20's I used to wonder how someone could buy a 69 Vette, Ferrari, whatever, and just park it. I would not have had the willpower to not go smoke that f'er. In 69ish old cars and bikes were old cars and bikes- they were not going up in value. In my 40's I started to wonder; how did some people have the foresight to know something would increase in value, or cost at least, so exponentially? A 1962 Ferrari 250 GT was like 7K new and the record auction price in 2018 was over 44 million. Had that RM125 been mine, it would not look like it does....
