The reason that log over the stream isn't rotting away is because it is still very much alive as evidence by all the new branches growing out of it. It was probably felled by high winds but never fully uprooted.

If you have live oak on your land, buy some tennis balls. Cut em in half, then fill them with potting soil, top soil, what ever good kinda soil you have. Then attach them to branches, and give it a couple weeks and then you can cut the branch off where you have the tennis ball (home made root ball), and then you remove the tennis balls, and you can plant the branch. (Look up on google how to use a root ball, to get the specific information on how long you need to let the root ball sit on the limb. And to verify if you need any rooting compound or anything else.).
You could also get a post hole digger, and use that too dig the holes for your tree's. (There are the ones that mount behind your tractor, but I use the ones that have the 2 blades, you slam into the ground, and pull the handles to pinch the blades together and it grabs the soil for removal. )

Your sinkholes are intriguing. Was there any WW2 activity there? If tanks were abandoned they eventually because of their weight they sink into soft ground and submerge in Water. Forget the $500.00 cable and buy a Drone. Tony & Kathy

@@Ants_Pants Obviously, we would all enjoy a view of the family property via a drone. The new road seems to go into the woods from behind the main house and circle in a counterclockwise arc to the grass downhill from the 128-year-old house. Won't continuing in that direction mess up the grass you didn't want to drive the tractors on and the lawns nearest the living areas? I guess I don't understand what the purpose of the road is. I should watch the video again. I watch you every day as I run on my treadmill. Maybe I should slow down and pay attention.

When i was a boy, my grand parents lived in WI in an area with 3 spring fed lakes and they were surrounded by trees like that, maple, birch, spruce, walnut, mulberry etc... but in the area surrounding, it was all corn fields. I always tried to imagine the native americans who lived there the kickapoo and maybe some others. i think way back when when the entire state was full of trees and forests for hundreds and hundreds of miles. I was like u, i wandered those forests for hours and hours picking blue berries, mulberries, black berries, raspberries and all diff kinds of nuts. It is as beautiful as ur area but it dint get as cold as estonia. I miss those days as now i live in the south where its pretty much ash, oak and cedar and not much else cept cactus. Thank you for sharing with us, it brings back so many wonderful memories. As far as you getting biden to get u an air craft carrier....u'd have a better chance off flapping ur arms to fly to the moon. He doesnt know his ass from his elbow and thats not exagerating lol. They set up a speaker near the side of the lake that had the sound of running water playing and the beavers built a dam in front of the speaker.

Make the trap by putting leech sized holes into large coffee cans with plastic lids and place raw chicken inside. The leeches can get in but can't get back out due to the sharp edges. Start drinking coffee because you'll need a lot of cans.

Kind of surprising that the Pike hasn't done much on that front.
I learned growing up that Pikes eat pretty much anything. Including smaller Pikes. But they generally keep the water they live in clear of most undesired stuff.
Meaning that in a lake etc. with pike, you usually end up with a smaller number of them overtimes but the ones who survive get huge.
So logic is fish some of the bigger ones out and the population of pikes in a lake would shoot up for a while and with great quantity comes great consumption.

Oak is really easy to grow from acorns, collect a bunch of them in the fall and put in buckets with dirt and you'll have a bunch of sprouts in the spring

That Clay house - in English it would be described as "Wattle and Daub" - Wattle being the walls made of woven tree or shrubbery branches, and Daub is the mud or clay mixture used to pack it and seal it up. Usually it was mud, mixed with manure and straw, and surprisingly very strong and weather-resistant! And YES - it IS definitely medieval technology - it's been around for thousands of years!
We have that same type of swampy area here in Canada - mostly in the northern part of the country, and here it's called "Muskeg". Many years ago, a railway was built on Muskeg in Northern Alberta - they built it in Winter when the ground was frozen, but in Spring when the ground thawed out and all the ground melted - it actually Swallowed a TRAIN - WHOLE. The entire train was lost in the muskeg! I think you were right to NOT walk in the swampy area!

Wattle and daub houses are very resilient because they’re insect and rot resistant and can last for decades. But only as long as they stay dry. Probably the part of that house that was gone was because the roof got destroyed, the walls got wet and the clay returned to nature.

I don’t comment often, well, nearly never. RUclips since 2006 here until Google pissed me off and I deleted all of my videos. I don’t see comments because I watch YT via Roku on TV. I’m here via the YT app on this iPad and it doesn’t show replies. Much thanks to you and to all of Estonia.

Trim the wheel guards on the wheelbarrow and it will fit.
And you should make a tree attachment for your excavator instead of the bucket, that presses a pipe with 45' bend at top. So you just push the pipe in and lift it up and then put the tree in the hole. Each time you push it the last holes dirt will extrude out the top of the pipe.
If you hook up a thumb you could have that put the tree in the hole, but just a pipe to dig the hole is easy and fast.
You could do it on your bobcat as well.

Nice change of pace and i liked your fishing story with your grandfather. I enjoyed being taken for a 'walk and talk' around your property. You've got a lovely property and live in an area that reminds me of my home here in Eastern Canada. Even the weather seems similar even though you live further North then I do. Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable vid. Cheeeeers!!

Not sure if you will see this or not but, I'm a new subscriber and wanted you to know this is quickly becoming my favorite channel. That is saying a tremendous amount because Andrew Camarata has been my favorite channel for years. I think you are the hardest working, most resourceful, and funny person I have ever watched!! Hope this message finds its way to you, and looking forward to many more videos 👍

I agree wholeheartedly, AntsPants! I follow Camarata, Sam Holmes Sailing, LetsDig18, Sampson Boat Co, Wild Wild West Trucking, Diesel Creek, Pacific Northwest HillBilly, Cutting Edge Engineering, and a couple more, and you and Jax from wild Wild West are tied for 1st place on the funny meter! You sound just like one of the most original and hilarious characters on Bill Hader’s amazing dark comedy on HBO called Barry. You are like super cool and down to earth version of NoHo Hank! Love your videos man!
