After hearing both sides, Jesse seems to win over Corn in this situation. The main defense for Corn's story that he didn't emphasize enough is the job security, where he would get a lot of benefits as a cop but working for Jesse it can be risky. The reason I'm with Jesse on this one is cuz according to him Corn didn't do anything to deserve a raise. If Corn had the motivation for this whole youtube thing, he would've worked a lot more and put his heart in it and also make his channel a big thing and probably his career in the future, but he had no motivation.

Rewatching 7 years later. seeing all the extra bonuses. Corn was a little greedy but realistically 36k a year with no benefits and as an independent contractor really isn't much. Plus what I will say to Jesse. Trips aren't a benefit if the person doesn't care about going. Vidcon isn't a bonus if they don't want to go to vidcon. Jesse talks about oh I gave him a 500k youtube channel. That isn't a benefit if the person doesn't care about being a creator. Fame isn't a benefit if they don't care about fame. But knowing corn was getting 7.5k for a few months and an extra 6k when the series ended. Yeah he was greedy but he was right about needing more money because he didn't see a future with Jesse. He was giving up potential promotions for jobs he actually wanted to film for Jesse. Both people were in the wrong for different reasons.
This happened 8 years ago. Making that much a month was really good! You are definitely thinking about recent years, yes that isn't much but 8 years ago it was really good. And plus depending on the state, could be more than other states avg! So yea, you need to think 8 years ago not today!!

Your looking at 36k a year in 2024 versus 36k a year in a 2016 New Jersey.
If he didn’t see a future with Jesse he should have quit earlier. Regardless of how much you’re getting paid, to constantly attempt to go against a contract you signed with your employer asking for more benefits and money is ridiculous.
I’d also like to point out 36k a year in 2016 is roughly 46-48k in 2024

I know this is a really old video at this point, but corn was completely living above his means. Dude needed a reality check and a punch to the gut. He was living extremely comfortable with the job he had.

I don't think Jessie understands Corns side, even corn said don't go hating on Jessie and he even said he didn't really want to explain why he quit. Another thing, Why would Corn tell people how much he makes, I wouldn't want to tell tons of people how much I got paid! Jessie seems like he's kinda avoiding the entire idea of corns explanation. We don't even know if Jessie was accepting Corns calls, maybe Corn tried to call Jessie first, but Jessie never answered, who knows. Corn as well was only speaking his mind, unlike Jessie, in this video Jessie is speaking in cover, he's not speaking his mind. I'm just very annoyed by this, Jessie seems like a lot of what he says Hollywood is, he doesn't even understand how Corn, was sorta pushed into having a RUclips, and a Twitch, do you think he would do RUclips or Twitch if he never got hired from you? Jessie also didn't realize he did this job because at first he thought it would be great! But than he realized he didn't really even like the job, he is trying to make money, plus he had a contract? How is he suppose to end a contract ? He was struggling to like doing it, Yes Jessie has a point he is trying to make money, maybe he could have been more excited for a fun exiting trip, and maybe Corn kinda did screw Jessie over at the last minute, but Corn still has reasons he did it, there's just so much to talk about.

I live in Jersey too, I'd be a camera man, I'd participate in the series. Very entertaining and genius. Something you need everyone to be committed to and proud of.

franPT69 actually it's not that good. It's $36k a year, which really puts you right above poverty level; not making enough to not be able to afford personal insurance, but still too much to be put on Medicaid and government help etc. Not worth it.

Yea like moving his laundry 3 times or a few heavy fan mail boxes have you ever helped your parents with groceries well that's pretty much the same a KID could do that he acted like 20 lines the whole series and held the camera and gets more than 2x his salary is supposed to get in which he agreed to for 2 years and breeched it an hour before Switzerland honestly this is one of the easiest jobs ever he's just greedy what was Jesse supposed to do not pay anyone else and not get paid himself to give it all to corn just to do simple task 3k is what they signed for and Jesse gave him a raise to 7.5k and he didn't even appreciate it so corn is too greedy

Watching this again, I have to say I'm on Jesse's side. Corn read the contract. He knew what was in it. He signed it. Throughout the job, he's giving Jesse a shitty attitude and demanding for more money. All these days off and making lots of money, I have absolutely no idea why Corn would take that for granted. If I were Jesse I would have fired him prior.

To sum it up......
Corn is now with Jessies old GF. She got caught fing another girl on J's bed. Corn wanted more money to film that. Corn complained that he worked 2 years without a single day off, and was expected to do housecleaning and laundry. J spent alot of money to build a wall around mexico to protect his pool, for his vids, so J had no money to spare. Corn was forced to live in that gaming room as he was on 24/7 call. He had no where to live when dad knocked it down.
Corn didnt want to do laundry in Switizerland so he quit.
I don't know if I can trust Jesse with everything anymore tho 🤔

looking back at this 6 years later it’s pretty clear what is the issue was. When you have a friend and you offer to pay them an hourly rate for them to help you do a full blown job it’s usually does work and they should appreciate the opportunity. But when the job has the potential of becoming largely successful and the money becomes larger than ever anticipated it does affect relationships. It’s a fine line between what people think they “deserve” and what they get. The issue is the animosity between corn doing a job and just lending a helping hand towards Jesse. I think it’s imminent that when corn sees the popularity and success of the series and in turn the money, he would feel as he deserves a much greater cut. I think eventually if corn had put his head down, accepted the reality of the job, as it being more of a friendship aspect he would’ve gotten paid a large sum by Jesse like the rest of the actors got.
Parker is gonna be a lot better than corn jesse don't worry!! I'm excited for the future with our new camera man XD

I work 35 hrs a week for a little under $2k a month. I live with my parents like corn and paying a shit ton in student loans and I'm doing fine.
Wish I made that much. I work 40+ hours a week and I'm only making $800-$1000 a month. I'm getting married in 3 months. I have $20k in student loans and I don't have even have my degree yet. That's good money. Corn could have been a great deal more patient and understanding there.

May I just point out that when there are issues with people who have a massive fan base it is very different to people who don't really have a fan base. Just don't comment when you don't know the whole story or when you have no idea what the truth is. That's the problem with a lot of these comments
well it looks like jesse wanted to keep it private, but corn posted his side of the story. had jesse not responded, he would have just allowed corn to have people hear only his side of the story. both parties might be exaggerating some parts of the story but that is our job to determine the truth, details that match up from both stories

i've watched all three videos now, and i gotta say.. Jess, you're a really cool, easy going, TALENTED and absolutely professional guy. You take care of people around you without taking it on as a struggle but rather a passion and that's a gift. Corn is a totally ok guy, but money's worth has to be restricted at some level and i guess he hasn't really found that limit for himself enough to really appreciate the things around him yet.

See the thing is, it's jesse's business. Ofcourse he's going to be making more. He's the front man, who has to conduct all the business deals, and well take the responsibility. If you want to make the huge money of a company then you have to make one. What Corn was making is really good all things considered. In my area a good job is considered 2 grand a month, and that's after taxes in shitty working conditions.
I see this pay as fair, and the raise he got was generous. I wish someone would cut me a check for 7 grand, I could live a year off of that with just bills. I started my own business so money is at a premium.
