This Bulgaria travel vlog we start the trek from Vihren hut, the best place to start your treks and hikes from in the Pirin National park near Bansko. As full-time travelers, we like to escape the City when we can and get into nature. We are always looking for wildlife and came across what we thought was a hummingbird, instead, it turned out to be a hummingbird hawk moth. The Pirin mountains have lots of lakes and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this if you travel Bulgaria. These are some of the most underrated treks in Europe.

The hovering insect was a Hummingbird Hawkmoth, Macroglossum stellatarum. The "Beak" is
the tongue. Hummingbirds only occur in the America's.
Please, whenever you drink coffee (like you did during your stay at Vihren Hut) bring your own drinking cup and ask them to pour the coffee in it. We already have severe problems with trash disposal in Bulgarian Mountains and having a environmental minister who cares only about big companies interests doesn’t help the situation any further. It’s up to us to consume responsibly and to protect what has left of the beautiful nature in this area of the world. Thank you!

The free fresh mountain spring water is available across most of Bulgaria including Sofia.
Brilliant footage of the moth, guys . Great advice re how nature can help with depression, I too find a long walk helps, as does lying flat on the ground and gazing at the sky, you can feel the earth spin and it helps reset your body rhythms x

Go for it! Didn't love Sofia but then again we didn't spend much time there.. however we can definitely vouch for the countryside, food, and prices 👍
Is transportation expensive?
@@TheMarvinChronicles We didn't get too much transport around but the 3 hour bus from Sofia to Bansko cost us around 8 Bulgarian Lev each way - which is about $4.50

At 5:25 that is what is called a "humming moth". It looks much like a hummingbird and mimics it's flight and hovering behavior, but it is an insect. Amazing little creatures. They sip nectar from flowers just like hummingbirds do. Nice find.

Even the smallest villages have at least one of this free water fountains it’s called cheshma/чешма, and they can also be found around villages on strategic points for the farm animals to drink when they’re on pasture

As I see in your next episode you did not hike up to some top in the Pirin Mountain and you missed really a lot. I know this mountain very well and it is one of the most beautiful mountains in Europe. Next time try to hike and see more.
Bulgaria has over twenty mountains...which mountain? i know based on the name of the hut...but this is really not helpful. you can also give details about the route too
Hi, i'm from Bulgaria. Rila mountain also have dope places. Thare are ravens, alpine chough, last years there are also many chamois. It's very very nice for astrophotography.

Hi Emma, ditch that sports bra when it's hot, give those puppies their freedom, they will thank you for it, you may have some muscle aches at first but they will soon strengthen and support the weight, after all the bra was not invented until the 20's and the BYT's rejected all forms of corseting and support.
