    Your videos present a very unique problem.
    I work 9 nine days and I'm off for 5. When I'm off, I have a long list of things to do.
    So while I'm working I keep thinking that I'll put your video on and just listen to what is going on as I work.
    But, just like with this video, it's so interesting, and your playing is so good, that I stop what I'm doing to watch and try to play what you are teaching. I'm having a great time, especially the stories you tell. I'm not getting a whole lot done, but I love to hear you play.
    Thank you for taking the time share your knowledge and experiences with us, God bless.

    From one Cindy and Aussie mom to another, one of the first fancy songs I learned as a kid was House of the Rising Sun. It has plenty of hammer-ons, finger-picking, and even some Flamenco strumming. Geordie is another one full of hammer-ons. I love these trips down memory lane...Thank you, Cindy

      House of the rising sun. Such a great classic ❤️ I checked Bernice’s DNA. She looks just like an Aussie. I think she even has that Aussie personality but it came back she is half Bernese Mountain dog and the other half is poodle. I bought her because I was told she was a Bernedoodle- it was hard to believe so I checked her. lol she is a Bernedoodle.

    I'm having a little chuckle this morning. I first stumbled on your channel when I saw a thumbnail and thought, "Hey who is that lady that looks like me!!!" I've been watching every morning for the past month or so and totally enjoying your channel. Then this morning I learn that we grew up about 100 miles apart and the hammer on was the first fancy thing I learned too. LOL Kindred spirits maybe? Keep up the good work, it's a great little channel.

    Thanks for all the interesting videos you are making, I always enjoy them. The first fancy thing I learned on guitar was rolling a chord, it just opened up the sound of any chord I played. Of course I finished up rolling every chord I played, too much of a good thing can be not such a good thing.

    • @guitarnotions
      @guitarnotions  3 месяца назад

      The “rolling chord” is definitely a fancy start! Its a great technique to learn - definitely will help get that short roll when playing the chords for “the house of the rising son.” Thanks so much❤️

    First fancy thing I learned was actually on the ukulele. My dad taught me chords so I could play along with hm when I was just a toddler. My oldest brother got a guitar when I was seven and boy I wanted to play that thing! He made me a deal. If I could learn to play a flamingo style finger pick song on the uke, he would let me play his guitar. A few days later I played the song for him and he handed that treasure to me to play. Great memory!

    Good morning Cindy. Really like this video and you sharing your memories. My first "fancy" moment was when I could play The Pony Man by Gordon Lightfoot and make it sound halfway decent. You are also speaking truth> Start slow to become fast. Just like tai chi practice. Yes I remember nickel popsicles but, back the, I would not have been able to afford any of the guitars you or I own. I guess everything is a trade off. Thanks again. You keep playin, I'll keep watching. Cheers

      Gordon Lightfoot’s finger style playing in this song is not easy! You definitely found fancy 😀 great song to learn. “…Then down the road we gallop
      And across the fields we fly
      And soon we all go sailing off
      Into the midnight sky🎶🎶🎶” thank you so much for listening in!❤️
