    I love how chill Hermitcraft is. There rarely is any screaming or swearing, all the members are friends and are respectful to each other, and the main point of the server is to build interesting things and have fun. You can put almost any of the episodes on your second screen and just play along, or watch them at the evening to just relax and lighten the mood. Nothing flashy, nothing too fancy, nothing vulgar - just Minecraft with good people

    Really the hermits have only started slowing down their edits this season, the last few seasons have been more and more heavily edited. But yeah, basically They’re a group of actual friends that all happen to be massive creators, they’d be just as successful, maybe even more successful in their own projects, but they choose to stick together in hermitcraft.

      It's why they ended up inviting skizz. Before season 9, skizz had very little chances of getting in cos before that, they were more focused on the analytical side of things.

    • @excubitor3440
      @excubitor3440 Месяц назад +13

      @@Cubecly I think Skizz was the perfect addition to this season. He's not the greatest builder (still above average) and not a redstoner (again, still above average) so his minecraft stuff is a bit more relatable than some of the others...but viewers can watch and learn with him as other hermits teach him skills to bring his projects to the next level, like his terraforming collab with...Gem iirc. Where Skizz excels though is his interactions and creating social situations, which given the slower pace of the season is playing a big part. Even Joel is like that, he's a great builder and decent redstoner but his social and interactions are what are helping raise this season to a higher level.

    • @didi81_
      @didi81_ Месяц назад +5

      @@Cubeclythat's just not true, look at people like tfc, JoeHills, xBcrafted, False, there's plenty more who never had the highly edited and stylised videos... it was never necessary to have heavily edited videos on Hermitcraft, or tons of subscribers, or even be a great builder or redstoner. They invite people based on what they can add and how well they think they'll fit in with the group.

    • @Cubecly
      @Cubecly  Месяц назад +4

      @@didi81_ Yea, I wasn't necessarily talking about every hermit, but Impulse, Skizz and Ren all stated in a podcast that in previous seasons, many hermits began trying to chase the algorithm more, and this season, wanted to move away from that. Of course not all of them did this, but esspecially for those with RUclips as their full time job, its almost impossible to not have done it at any point.
      Also, those who focus more on streaming like Joehills, would obviously be different as Twitch and livestreaming in general is completely different.

    Honestly what attracts me about Hermitcraft is that there is a reason the buildings are like that, you arent just watching a guy trying to haphazardly put together in 100 days, you are watching a building evolve as time went on. I could look back at one of the series and be like "oh hey the giant modern looking supermarket, Grian was the one doing the design while Mumbo built the complex system!" or "its Grian's Barge! It was such a small little platform and now it grow into one of the most popular market!"
    With alot of the more content farming vids, its just "WE BUILD THE BIGGEST MOST BEAUTIFUL SUPER DUPER ULTRA DELUXE PALACE!" Like sure it looks cool, but its just an oversized glorified mansion, we dont really see it evolve, having life breathe into it as the one who own it build it, expand it, adding history into it

    I watch docm77 since he had less than 1000 subscribers. When he came to the Hermitcraft server, I naturally followed. And as he interacts with the other hermits, I find that they make interesting content too. In one season I watch Welshknight build a castle while in another season I watch how Scar annoys Grian.
    I noticed that you like cinematic videos. I'm curious if you ever watched a doc video and payed attention to that. He also has story flows, underlying music and stuff like this. I'm quite the layman in that topic so I don't notice most of it. But even though he is mostly known for his crazy technology, he is quite the good storyteller, role player, networker and builder too.

    • @Cubecly
      @Cubecly  Месяц назад +15

      Yes, I've watched at least a few of every hermit, but obviously don't have time for all of them, so just follow a few.
      Docs videos I often put on in the background cos they're so long, but yea I aggre with U!

    • @NickAndriadze
      @NickAndriadze Месяц назад +2

      Doc is just a near-perfect content creator in my opinion. Whilst he'd only be second to Grian when it comes to my favourite Hermits, I do agree that he's a perfect package in every way. Not only is he an absolute mad genius and his projects are the most fun to follow and see coming into fruition, but he also excels in basically everything else. Just like you mentioned, phenomenal builder, storyteller and roleplayer, on top of a crazy dedicated grinder...
      I personally don't really enjoy how his videos are mostly near-uncut and on average last about an hour, as I *really* don't have THAT much time to say, catch up to a season I was late to, unlike most other Hermits that are very easily bingeable thanks to their 20 minute episodes, but it's just another great strongpoint in Doc - He doesn't care about retention or attention span manipulation or anything like that. He's just popular for the sole reason that his projects and creations really are THAT insane, smart and grand.

    • @benrex7775
      @benrex7775 Месяц назад

      @@NickAndriadze I wouldn't say he is near perfect in everything he does. But perhaps I'm still a bit "scarred" by the time between the world tours and season 8 where he was in a bit of a low. I also didn't like the beginning phase where he tried to get into roleplaying and did it in a way that wasn't to my taste. Also he likes to plan out these big strategies but then everything puffs away as he overcomplicates things and is too much of a softie. Because of that in conflicts or economical wars he looses to the simpler approaches of Grian.
      I don't mind the long videos as I generally watch long form content on RUclips.

    Love Hermitcraft, what a wonderful group of people! I do miss Mumbo. I know technically he's playing this season, but for the last few seasons it feels like he's barely around. Season 6 and 7 Mumbo was a part of just about everything and now he is barely ever in anyone's videos but his own. Come back Mumbo!
    Of course all the other Hermits are wonderful as well, I suppose Mumbo may have gotten to a point where he wants to live his life and enjoy it considering how well he's done for himself. The new Members Joel and Skizz also bring so much to the server. Can't say enough about the Hermits, they stick to making great videos for us and they also keep drama to a minimum which is great for their image

    To me the more recent seasons were a tiny bit stale. Not that it wasnt fun but it got generally kinda boring to watch over time. I wanted older seasons back. And this is what Season 10 feels to me. A return to what made it great. It goes without saying that "moons big" season was fun. Lots of shenanigans but just not enough to keep you interested. And then when Iskall uploaded his first episode he said "This is the best start of every season yet". I was skeptical. But then as it progressed I simply had to agree. The genuine amount of just normal interactions of friends goofing off. The "Roasting of the Dog" (Rendog) is still one of my probably favorite moments of all of hermitcraft. And it all happened just because Iskall did not want to cut out the goofy fun that they were having.
    Even his approach to other episodes or even Vaulthunter SMP was this way. Where instead of leaving out stuff that would have been just filler, he left it in for the funnies cause while it wasnt just "haha funny" humor, it still felt more organic than just skipping to the next point with a voiceover saying "Stress and me decided to go vaulting".
    This is for all intent and purpose a return to form for Hermitcraft. One with mods of course but one that is more enjoyable than before as the mods are simply there to enhance the fun and not change it out right.

I try to give newer MCYTs some views here and there but they're often cringey, dull, and not funny so it's difficult to watch. The 100 Days format became popular because Luke The Notable is funny. But many of those who copied his format missed that key point. Without the funny 100 Days videos are hard to enjoy. Same for SMPs...it's not the builds, it's not the pranks or wars, it's the funny.
