    Love te SSL12, on my 4th now. I also like to program it and use it dawless as a summing mixer. Very nice. Is it possible to sent cc or sysex to change its parameters via midi? 4K/lpf on of etc.??

    Hey guys, could you please make a video that shows the complete process for sending outputs 3 and 4 with a piece of stereo outboard gear, and then back in, to print the processed signal. I’m missing something about this process and just can’t seem to get it right. Thank you so much.
    🙏 😊

      Use 2 TRS to XLR cables from 3-4 out and put them into the inputs for 1-2. Make sure you’re sending the audio you want to print into 3-4 inside of your daw.

    I'm running SSL 12, Pro Tools 12.8, and with no tracks inputs enabled, I'm still hearing my guitar input, almost like a mix knob that's not set correctly. If I use an amp sim, and enable the track input, I'm hearing the processed and unprocessed sound? What's wrong here?

    Hello bro, great video.
    SSl 360 is only for ssl UF8, SSl12 and SSLUc1?
    If I have ssl2+, ssl360 is not for this?

    Hello from Dublin,
    I hope you are well
    I hooked up my Bass Guitar to my new SSL12 today and connected it to my DAW (pro tools artist) and monitored it via Headphones.
    Unusually, while the Bass tone sounded really great on my headphones prior to hitting “record” on my DAW, once I actually started recording, the Bass Tone changed significantly and emanated a very “hollow” sounding tone.
    Even more unusually, I went ahead and recorded anyway, and during subsequent playback, the tone sounded great again, exactly as it did prior to the recording.
    So I’m wondering, why does the great SSL12 tone that I’m hearing in my headphones reduce in quality, once I engage the record switch on my DAW?

    I just got mine today. Is there not a way to use loopback through the DAW and monitor it without the feedback?

    • @brianboyer9383
      @brianboyer9383 Год назад +2

      This was covered in the video in the Loopback section but you actually have two options. Although the naming might be different, these steps should work for most, if not all of the Loopback functions of any audio interface and its accompanying mixer software.
      1) You can do as they suggest in the video and, on the Loopback channel, MUTE the outputs from your DAW that feed the L/R Bus and directly monitor the computer audio source through the PLAYBACK 1-2 inputs in 360, which will naturally feed the Main MONITOR out (L/R). This way, you prevent the DAW stereo out feeding back into the computer L/R audio (source audio for Loopback input).
      2) You can route the Loopback channel into outs 3/4 (5/6, 7/8) of your DAW, which would show up in PLAYBACK 3-4 (5-6, 7-8) in 360. Disengage DIRECT on that channel so the audio routes through the Main MONITOR outs of the SSL 12. Also in 360, press the CUT button on PLAYBACK 1-2 (and turn the fader down for good measure) to avoid phasing of the audio from the directly monitored 1-2 audio and the slightly delayed 3-4 (5-6, 7-8) audio running through the DAW. This method works best if you need to hear the audio running through your DAW's plugins.

    Why no mention of the front two line level inputs? I assume the SSL12 has 6 simultaneous analogue inputs right? Strange that they aren't set up in software in this tutorial.

    • @marekgitarzysta5193
      @marekgitarzysta5193 Год назад

      The from HiZ inputs are not separate inputs but are "interchangeable" with rear 1 and 2 inputs

    • @jamesbatcho
      @jamesbatcho Год назад

      Well that's not good. So it's just a 4 simultaneous analogue input unit then, not 6.@@marekgitarzysta5193

  • @CheesyMcBeard
    @CheesyMcBeard 8 месяцев назад

    Why would I make seperate routings for each input to monitor output in a DAW (for instrument and vocals) when I could just sum the master output from my daw to the Monitor/Headphones output just like any other regular interface. What is the benefit? Almost zero latency?

    Help! I cant hear the metronome and the main output at the same time through my headphones in ableton. Its either one or the other?

  • @stefankarl4059
    @stefankarl4059 Год назад +1

    sadly, I understand very little of what you are saying.. I have the SSL12 and am using ableton. I have a doubling of sound on the headphones, as I don't know how to just get the monitoring from the DAW, rather than getting the monitoring directly from the SSL. What I mean is this: When I plug a guitar into the SSL I immediatly can hear that guitar via the SSLs direct monitoring. However, when I open Ableton and now play the guitar I hear the guitar twice, as I cannot disable the direct monitoring from the SSL (or don't know how to..). Can somebody help me here?

    • @Mikas_Emil

      Yes you should use the 360 software and actually mute the direct signal from your guitar input on the SSL. Does that make sense to you?
