    They should have never gone to the WWF. Vince turned them into cartoon characters like he did everyone else. He ruined more careers than he ever boosted. WWF/WWE sucked then and sucks even more now.

    • @mackredsnapper
      @mackredsnapper 6 лет назад +2

      I couldn't agree more. When they went to the WWF back in the day I almost passed out. There were so many wrestlers that I remembered before they went to the WWF that were just circus acts compared to what they were before.

    • @Vulcan5911
      @Vulcan5911 6 лет назад +3

      mackredsnapper; exactly. They were so badass before they went to the WWF. It just killed their mystic and turned them into cartoon characters. I never liked the WWF because of that. It was more for little kids than any other wrestling organization. Couldn't take it serious. It was a joke, and still is worse today. I did like the attitude Era though.

    • @Koolazzmike
      @Koolazzmike 6 лет назад +2

      mackredsnapper I hated, and I mean I hated the red shoulder pads and that crappy, "oh what a rush!" song. And the fact that Ellering didn't accompany them in, Vince made them over and watered them down.

    • @damagedradio
      @damagedradio 6 лет назад +6

      I agree BUT their first run (putting Rocko out of my mind) really wasn't bad and it allowed them to be the only tag team to ever win the titles in the big three leagues. So that said, I think it was a good move, if for nothing else... legacy. Now clearly they should have never gone back, and never allowed themselves to be used by Vince as they were during the attitude era.

    • @Koolazzmike
      @Koolazzmike 6 лет назад +3

      Damaged Radio Going back is what really hurt them. Vince really embarrassed them.

    I first saw The Road Warriors on TBS Georgia Championship Wrestling on Saturday's in early 1984. I flipped out! These guys were ruthless and vicious, hitting the ring and just destroying everybody in their path. I was hooked from the get-go as they had more of a biker look back then.
    Sure glad ESPN carried AWA Wrestling because when The Warriors jumped there, I could watch them unleash their destruction on a regular basis. When they went back to the NWA and Crockett I was happy. The Road Warriors were too good, too real, and too serious a tag team to be
    competing in the cartoonish WWF back in the mid to late 80's. They would of fit better in The WWF a decade earlier.
    Hawk and Animal with Precious Paul! Every time they came to Grand Rapids Stadium Arena I made my old man take me downtown to witness The Greatest Tag Team...EVER!!

    I don't blame the Road Warriors turning down Vince during the 80s. They might get either buried by Demolition or had a lackluster run like in the Attitude Era.

    • @jonathanturbide2232
      @jonathanturbide2232 6 лет назад +4

      Presley 17 Exactly, Demolition was created directly because Vince wasn't able to convince the Warriors to sign a deal.

    • @gammasmash1924
      @gammasmash1924 6 лет назад +5

      Presley 17 Yup. I thought they were a horrible knock off. In retrospect, Demolition was a decent tag team, but they weren't the Road Warriors, especially not to teenage me. The Powers of Pain were much closer to LOD, at least in appearance.

    • @michaelzoran
      @michaelzoran 6 лет назад +3

      The Road Warriors had every right to be upset with Vince McMahon. ... The list of people screwed over by Vince McMahon and his false promises is terribly long.

    If the Road Warriors went to WWE in the mid 80's we might have seen the dream match of Demolition Ax and Smash VS the Road Warriors. Not Smash and Crush. Seriously that was very disappointing but in the end the Road Warriors did make the right decision in not going at the time.

    • @kingjaekob
      @kingjaekob 5 лет назад

      Demolition vs LOD, not a DREAM MATCH! I would have Preferred BRITISH BULLDOGS VS ROAD WARRIORS, OR STEINERS (IN WWF) VS WARRRIORS, ALL THOUGHT IT DID HAPPEN A FEW TIMES IN WCW/NWA!

      They were 2 time WWE tag team champion and held belts 213 days between two title reigns. The puppet on Paul Ellerling might had hurt their image a bit but it didn’t matter by then that there was only 2 big time wrestling promotions at this point in states.

    Anyone who has a big painting of themselves has an obvious ego and puts themselves on a pedestal above everyone else.What is really sad is how Vince treats these guys who made him everything he has.the wrestlers should have created a union if one guy gets screwed they all come together and get the situation fixed but it isn't like that most of the guys stab each other in the back for positioning .they all are living their dream but could care less about another individual trying to live their dream.I have much more respect for the ladies rarely do you see an interview with the ladies where they are badmouthing the other female wrestlers .the guys are always talking crap about each other.

    • @PAPITOFLOW6969

      YES MCMAHON ALWAYS TREATS HIS WRESTLERS LIKE 2ND FIDDLE LIKE TRASH WHY DOES HE HATE THE WORD WRESTLING SO MUCH THO?

    • @TL2354
      @TL2354 6 лет назад

      Who’s been the one constant for the last 30+ years? Vince, he’s the only one. He’s made guys rich. If they had a union the Brooklyn Brawler would’ve been making the same amount of money as Hogan. In what world does that make sense? It doesn’t. The biggest draws should make the most. Get a clue

    • @ronsilvia8127
      @ronsilvia8127 6 лет назад

      TL2354 Vince is for himself cares nothing about human beings look at bobby the brain heenan Vince did nothing for him heenan was battling cancer.Hows this for a clue wrestling is a sinking ship it's glory days are finished and it wasn't Vince making the wrestlers it's the wrestlers making vince.Back in the day world class championship wrestling was the best wrestling and changed the industry it was the original sport entertainment they were the pioneers Vince stole a lot of ideas from them he's a prick.

    • @ronsilvia8127
      @ronsilvia8127 6 лет назад +1

      TL2354 the union I speak of is making sure these guys get something after the wrestling career has ended and are not spit out into the street and your statement as to how many wrestlers has Vince McMahon made rich perhaps you should ask that question to the late Owen heart

    If they had just handed over the trademark rights to WWE, Vince would've pushed them to the moon instead of burying them. They would've dominated the wrestling world in the 90s the way they wrecked havoc in the 80s. But they insisting on owning the rights themselves and Vince just buried them instead.

    • @MoniqueFromPlymouth
      @MoniqueFromPlymouth 6 лет назад +1

      You can't blame them for turning Vince down back then. They probably could not trust on getting the trademark back. Thats how Vince makes wrestlers' livelihoods much harder after they leave WWE. Just ask The Dudley Boyz.

    They were kinda played out by the time they hit wed. In NWA and AWA they were unlike anybody else. By the time they hit WWF in the early 90s wrestling as a whole was on a downturn. Plus people had seen big steroid fueled muscle guys with face paint countless times before. When I was a little kid in the 80s they were one of the few NWA wrestlers that interested me. Everything has a shelf life. For instance hiw people watch that shit now is beyond me.
