The cold weather is making ice here in upstate NY in the Adirondack Mountains and we are so EXCITED!
Roger and the girls took the 1-hour challenge to catch their dinner and then take it home and make one of their favorite recipes, BUTTER PERCH!!! So yummy!
It was a great time and the bite was on.

yep they were not planning on gettin skunked. and they really caught most of those perch on their own. this is the first year they are really into it. they even wanted to go out this afternoon even tho it was -8. so we went for a hour.

Oh yes! early ice is always good action. that was last week. its has slowed down already, but some new lakes are frezing up now.. it was -13 last night. i see you are doing a little "ice" fishing too :-) nice work on those cold water Bass!!

Great to see the girls out there having some “reel” fun putting food on the table. Man the flasher screen was loaded with Perch. Those babies were seven and going to frying pan heaven. Nice ! Butter perch with some lemon pepper with a little extra Heat for Dad.

Nice video...sure is nice watching your girls get into fishing..solid perch bite keeps the lil ones entertained..i actually started frying most my fish in butter too...been deep frying for too long.. obviously the air fryer or simply baking it is a little healthier option but it's hard to go that route after you grew up eating deep fried fillets
Yes! its hard to bear the good old fry oil. but it might get us eventually, but then again. maybe the good feelings it brings counteracts the clogged arteries. My grandmother refused to change her diet because food made her happy....and she lived to 96. eating a stick of butter a day!!!

yep we gave the eagle some dinks, but he would only get so close. im sure he had them gobbled up as soon as we left

@@RogersRigs we actually propped perch up in a snow mound and filmed eagles snatching em up...not sure if we technically violated state law or not..bored entertainment..lol
ha ha. we did a similar thing last week. but the eagle was shy. he would only come so close... till we left
