For those who know, separating cows from calves in the pens can be a rodeo. The Sonne team made it look like a walk in the park. Fun to watch those who are great at what they do….hope cattle prices soar🍺🍺🍺
Shout out to Tami for the status on Ellie which she is fine. Maternal intern seems to be doing well and that's a plus. Brian and Jeff comedy still makes us chuckle thanks to the group.
This, @13:46 is what is called an "IRISH TRAFFIC JAM" along the countrysides of Ireland. Even better when a shepherd is moving his flock of sheep from one field to another field. And all you can do is shut off your car in the middle of the road and the sheep surrounds your car as they are walking past your car to the field.
Thank you for all your do for us to live vicariously through your RUclips channel. You are in our thoughts and prayers daily. Before every thing gets crazier. Have a Happy Thanks Giving and Christmas Holidays.
Thanks for another great video Cole and Brian. You and your dad and uncle Jeff are we the finest herdsman around the Midwest. Sincerely appreciate the way you care for your herds. The processing setup you now have is one of the best around. Like that scale in your processor so you get the weight of your calf. Nice setup. That rubber mat you have is nice also. Your herd of calves look real nice. Great herd. You and your dad have a herd to be proud to for sure. Good to see tiny dog. About it and thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Your chisel is what we call in Oregon, spring tooth. Moving cattle down a road, that's a favorite where I am, though not done much any more due to inconsiderate drivers.
And uncle Jeff brings his little red lunchbox🤫🤫😂😂😂?? Nice one BRAIN,NICE THINGS 😢😢. Sorry Jeff the BIG VALLEY brings back nightmares😂,I can still hear it rattling !!!! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!
Beautiful set of calves for sure! Your set up is fantastic and the addition of the scale to the squeeze is awesome! You guys are always upgrading your place and reinvesting in it which is great to see.
Watching ranching sodak & they have a calf gate (about 3' high) so calves go under but cows do not. Great way to sort cows & calves. Very nice lookin' calves! Nice rubber mats.
If you are going to use the Airequip set up again will you show us more weights of the cattle. That’s a new addition & I’d like to see more of the cattle weights. Great angle on the chisel video. It was cool that you all were petting the calf in the chute. Really cool.
Man, all that hard work paid off in spades with the chute. What a slick operation. Three guys to work 60 head that fast was impressive. When I was your age and younger, it would take half a dozen cow hands and the same amount of horses to get that done. We would ear mark and brand though, so that’s going to take extra time. Were you using rubber bands for castration? And was your dad slipping that on behind the calves and doesn’t get kicked? That’s double tuff! Great video, thanks for sharing
Great job you did there guys that’s pretty awesome. Some good looking calves in that group for sure. God bless you all. And peace to you and your family. I hear you about the ibuprofen. Glad it’s there just for those times for sure. Brian I hope your toe is feeling much better.
Working cattle and ground on a cool foggy morning. Having great working facilities is great. Nice to see Jeff and Brian. No deer hunting? I tell you, Sonne cattle sure look good and healthy. Still to short Cole. Great video.
This is for Brian and his hands. My thoughts from the tractor seat. These hands. I was belittled in an attempt to humiliate me over my hands, they said I had sausage fingers and rough, ugly hands. I don’t know why, but I was embarrassed about it. Then kind of irritated and offended at the remark. I got to thinking… I have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. My hands have done so many things, there have been a few things I’m not too proud of, but for the most part they have served me well and been used for well doing. Although now I’m starting to feel it, as arthritis is kicking in and my joints are beginning to remind me of all the abuse I’ve subjected them to. As a child these hands played with Tonka trucks and tractors in the dirt, climbed trees, and held the handlebars of everything from tricycles to motorcycles, the reins of pony’s and crazy broncs and mules… they’ve resisted pencils, papers and school books, and instead have enjoyed baiting hooks and throwing rocks and sticks… They learned to repair motorcycles, automobiles, and tractors. They’ve stroked and petted animals with love and tenderness… and have been bitten a few times by them too. I’ve learned how to care and nurture animals with them, sometimes against their will, and dug holes to bury the ones that didn’t survive. These hands have learned how to use wrenches and hammers, saws and all assorted tools, in spite of a few mishaps that occasionally left scars and blue fingernails. They’ve learned how to finesse both pocket knives and gun triggers. My hands have both broken and repaired, built and destroyed many things. These hands of mine have held newborn babies, and tenderly consoled children…they’ve held the hands of the elderly and the dying. My hands have felt the warmth of the only woman I ever loved, and the bitter cold of steel on a frozen winter’s day. They’ve clapped with joy in celebration, and have helped to lift the fallen, they’ve wiped away my tears, and held my face in sorrow. They have built a life and a home, and provided a living for my family… Being a farmer they have planted seeds and nurtured crops that have helped feed millions from all the hard work they’ve done. Looking back I’m not ashamed, but rather proud of what they have done over the years… for they’ve done far more good than they ever have evil. Looking at a mans hands is the first chapter in the story of his life that only he can tell. Ephesians 4:28 …but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. What will your hands do??
Seems like you all go from big project to big project constantly without any break I saw some fancy Angus cattle today Hopefully you can get some free time before the little man arrives
Great video Cole why don’t you do an interview video on your Uncle Jeff ? That was a funny joke your Dad told your uncle lol also you should probably interview both of them together I think it would be great 👍

From someone who knows, yes, that was impressive. No more horses, just quads. It’s a modern world.
Brian is a hoot! Good to see Jeff again. Have a great week and stay safe.
“Why can’t I have nice things”. 😂. You all are a hoot. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks for sharing videos! This reminds me of me and my dad. He passed away 9 years ago.

At Sonne Farms, calf-banding means ... gonads to no-nads.
😂
Also heard it as changing their mind from a** to grass.
Good video Cole and Brian and Jeff !!
The bull said "I thought this was the line for the marching band".
Thanks for another great video Cole and Brian.

Some really nice looking calves you got there. Goes to show that taking good care of your animals pays off.

Good work on separating and working the calves from the cows. Have a good evening!
Hi good afternoon to all three of you guys from Indiana
After you put those rings on the bulls, they no longer go mooo!! They then say Meeeee!!!
I loved the look on Jeff’s face when Brian accused him of running out of cows. What the hell did I do now?
Beautiful set of calves for sure! Your set up is fantastic and the addition of the scale to the squeeze is awesome! You guys are always upgrading your place and reinvesting in it which is great to see.
You’ve got that sorting dance down pat. Nicely done 😃
The least you could do is give them an extra hug Cole - they're SAD!
The pad in front of the chute still looks new. The ground still is in great shape too. Perhaps put some around the tire water tanks.
Another great video! Keep up the good work!

Beautiful calves 😊
Your last couple videos give a new meaning to NN. Noises November. I know bad dad joke .
Nice video
7:22 So, ya ever regret making a steer, hahaha!🤣🤣🤣
nope
Yep, that's a lot of bawling, to be sure! Some voices sounded Hollywood-produced!
Song of the day = Keep on smiling. by Wet Willie. 😁😁😁
Seems like you all go from big project to big project constantly without any break I saw some fancy Angus cattle today Hopefully you can get some free time before the little man arrives
I found the video moo-ving... I'll get my coat.
You should record the bawling on a really good setup and sell the audio to the next big cattle drive western. :)
It's not Tuesday - it's Moo-day. :)
Hope it's a safe (and cleaner) one.
Ok fine, next video is 300k!
@15:42-that’s science!❤❤❤❤
Isn't every Sonne Farms video filled with Moo-Filled days...aren't the calfs always communicative?
Another great video!
Don't know if any parts of your herd make it as far as Virginia, but there's nothing like a Delmonico Steak or any steak - SO Thank You!!!!!
Uncle Jeff was flapping the crap out of them cows
You need one of those gates with the bottom cut out of it to cut them calves like Matt has at Ranching Sodac😊
Great video Cole why don’t you do an interview video on your Uncle Jeff ? That was a funny joke your Dad told your uncle lol also you should probably interview both of them together I think it would be great 👍
If you didn't laugh at Brian's joke at 7:22. You don't get farming. Good one. I'm using it!
Cole, Where's Ellie? Was there a peaceful transfer of power or something? Love the content and the values that show thru on the videos.
More Uncle Jeff!
thx
Those mothers are saying "finally, I get a break! My tits are KILLING me!" lol True story. I am fluent in Bovine. The calves were saying MOTHER! WHERE ART THOU? (they tend to speak like that until they're teenagers, all those religious people in the area)
