  • How to overcome excessive daydreaming as a Christian. In addition to this video, I recommend my video on "How to conquer your intrusive thoughts." I walk through the concept of how to take captive of your thoughts, which might also help you in the context of maladaptive daydreaming. :)

      And that’s the crazy thing! A lot of the time it’s not until later in life that we get the understanding for the things we went through and why we reacted in certain ways. Im glad this video could come across you and God bless you through your journey 🫶🏽🩷

      Thank you so much for writing this! I’m glad it did and that you were able to see it! Sometimes I’ll get intrusive thoughts like “ehh this video isn’t gonna actually help people” but then God brings people like you and I know that He has a very intentional purpose for each and every one of you and this channel❤

    i’ve had this question for a really long time, is shifting realities a sin? because it seems a little similar to what you’re talking about in this video.

    it's very difficult to deal w it sometimes. for me i am not happy w my current day to day life and find md as an escape and all the goals i have in real life, i instead carry out in those daydreams and then realize at the end of the day that i did nothing for myself and then that ends up making me sad but then since i used those daydreams as an escape i would sometimes just go back. also i feel like what if i don't get the life that i would typically want? like i trust God and i know i should because His plans are better for me but i feel like in my daydreams everything is so perfect to the point i would come up with random problems so it seems more realistic also when i daydream abt relationships i feel like "what if no one will love me that way or find me funny or beautiful" to the point i literally would alter my entire face, skin complexion to be more morena light skin looking, alter my entire body and then when i would stop daydreaming for a few minutes or hours i would look in the mirror and realize i hate what i see and i disliked my features one of the reasons being how it was so different to how i had imagined it in my daydreams and my daydreams were going on for so long and i had made it seem like it was my reality. And currently bc of all this i don't rlly like what i see in the mirror sometimes and when i do my brain thinks well Ur still not conventionally pretty or that the guy i had been daydreaming abt would still never go for me and how I'm the ugly fat friend in friend groups.

      This sounds like me, but in a different way, I also dealt heavily with my self image and not liking the way I currently looked. For me though, it was Snapchat filters. I got so used to seeing myself in a particular unreal way, that it was really hard for me to like the natural/ real version for me. One of the best things that helped me was falling in love with myself, and banning myself from the things that would distort my self image. I would get myself looking cute and look in the mirror and make myself see the things to love about my natural self. Because don’t be deceived you ARE beautiful, you were literally handcrafted by a God. The beauty standard is created by unintelligent human beings, look in the mirror each day and begin to point out the things you can love. God can help you through the rest.
      Also one more thing!!❤ sorry this is long. But dreams are amazing, they are gifts. And if they motivate you to be successful and do what is needed to be where you dream then that is a good thing. But be careful because the enemy always has traps, and keeping you down in real life could be one of them while you live your best life in the dreams. Take little steps of improvement each day in real life that will take you to where you need to be . God says to have faith in Him but we also have to meet that with action, taking the necessary steps towards Him!❤

    Is day dreaming itself bad? Because I have something similar but I never had any trama or bad experience, I just sometimes let my imagination go wild and do whats similar in the video, but not necessarily to "escape". I'm just asking genuinely because i do this pretty much every day where i let my imagination get the best if me and make fake senerios where im in my favorite show for instance. Its kind of a habbit everytime I listen to music or just in general.

      That’s a great question! No, it is a normal and beautiful thing to dream. It only becomes a problem when they’re sinful. For instance, dreams of lust or other things like that. When it goes down the evil route, that’s when it’s time to take captive of the thoughts, other than that, you’re good.

    Is maladaptive daydreaming a life with God good?

    • @themelaninblueprint
      @themelaninblueprint  4 дня назад +2

      Yes, as long as it’s not taking you away from having one in real life too!
      The whole thing with maladaptive daydreaming is that it can take people away from their real lives and fulfilling their real purposes in this life.
      However, if you are functioning okay in and out of the day dreams that’s okay. We just want things to be healthy ❤ and that goes for spiritually too :)
