I have to agree with him , as much as I hate playing tank most of the time it’s the only role that’s satisfying to me. It’s terribly hard at higher ranks but that’s part of the reason it’s fun to me
I'm not sure how people have fun on Orisa other than absolutely spicy ults, but Tank is probably more fun than DPS on lower ranks where you can just diff people without being hindered by everyone playing optimally and meta.
Orisa is fun asf for me, I just stand their in front of their tank and snipe their back line, feels so clean hitting a javelin and all head shots on a widow or ana half a mile away
I'm always confused why people don't find Orisa fun. Especially since everyone praised her rework when it came out. Mini gun with infinite range, long range sstisfying wall impact stun, "Fuck you" button to the most frustrating abilities in the game, and a movement ability that doubles as damage. The only time I don't have fun on the character is a mirror match-up but that's basically all tanks at this point
For me personally it makes the game feel like im on easy mode since all you really gotta do is not run into their team while cycling the cds. Yeah the javelin is cool but fortify just feels cheap to use. Its likely just bias tho since i play rein, doom, and jq so obv i wont like to play against her. Ill never complain when gettin speared out of a cd or ult tho since thats just on me making a mistake
damn it's almost as if we are all individuals who find what's "fun" about anything, different from one another. it's actually not a hard concept to grasp, let alone be "confused" by- it's okay to state you personally do not like a hero and their play style, you do not need to bring other's ppl opinions and act all "confused" as to why their opinion(s) are what they are, it's unnecessary
I’d say the other improvement this guy made after switching to zarya was that he stopped going to war with the opposing tank. He added more value picking off squishies
No wonder Sombra is a menace, everytime they are on the team, EVERYONE looks back at sombra and acts like she's a junkrat tire that can't be shot, causing everyone to fall back
I watch these videos whilst in the gym or when im playing ow and I find them so entertaining, I also started listening to the advice you gave for about certain characters and I’ve started using them in game now :)
I wouldn’t say Zarya is a great choice just cause they have an Orisa, but she great against an Orisa who just walks straight into you while you’re full charge and doesn’t use over and tries to use javelin spin to counter your beam.
This person looks like they are used to how tanking works in an MMO. Having a high uptime on defensive abilities is good in WoW as a tank (situationally) because the AI won't specifically be looking for windows where you don't have them. People do.
19:49 As a Zarya Player it bothered me to much, that they didn't right click to high ground to poke the mercy and Mccree. They just let Mercy pocketing the Hog the whole game.
5:40 if you're not gonna hold that Orisa, she's gonna walk all over your team. If teammates were shooting her too she'd fall over. Damn I haven't had a good game like this in ages, but they used to put up a good fight and block you from walking past them to their backline and I used to do th same. It feels like a titan battle lol. Stressful but also enjoyable. Can't have that in other roles
I have an insane replay of me playing Orisa on this map and absolutely dominating the entire enemy team. I wish I had someone to share it with though. 😂
As long as a character isnt meta i find them to be fun. Horse can be fun to play and fight against as long as she isnt in every match you play. That being said i will still be playing reinhardt like a chad to the end of days
I lose interest in playing dps after like 1 or 2 games of playing dps. Meanwhile, i can play tank and support for many hours without an issue. I find dps boring. It's either i have good games or i have bad ones and that's all there is to it. There's not really much nuance or decision making that impacts much at all. I like things that feel like they have utility or multiple ways to use things to help your team. Mei, sym, sombra, maybe ashe, and ig cassy are the only ones that feel like they have any utility that has the potential to have impact outside of just damage or getting picks. I feel the same with some support heroes too. I don't play illari much because she feels really damage and healing heavy. Lifeweaver feels very heal heavy. Which just gets boring. Where as ana, kiriko, zen, lucio, and brig feel like they have a purpose outside of just healing or just doing damage. I remember playing dps on qp with some friends and even after getting potg like 4 times and having 30 kills each match, i just wasn't having fun and would need to play music or yt videos in the background just to stay focused in games. This isn't a brag by any means. It just really doesn't feel rewarding or even that engaging most times to me to do good on dps. Which could be a me issue. Just figured id explain my perspective on it
it's a personal preference like anything else. it doesn't mean there's something wrong with people who love playing dps, and it doesn't mean there's something wrong with not liking it. it doesn't mean playing dps is Objectively Fun or Objectively Not Fun. I wish more people understood that "fun" is a completely subjective thing. just because a lot of people think something is fun or not fun doesn't suddenly make "fun" an objective concept.
Even considering the struggle of Solo-Tanking, there's just something so gratifying about having 2x to 3x the amount of HP compared to other characters, canceling out damage, and still being able to output substantial damage.
I mean he ain't wrong tank is hella fun(diamond 5 tank btw) tge amount of swapping and snowballing I had to deal with was insane but I played tank since s1 so I know what to expect and to adapt, is tank fun? Hell yeah
I like how there's some simple, unadulterated fun in that though. Like, you just go out and shoot flashy things into the enemy. You don't get this in any place where people play "properly", in a more thoughtful and organized manner. Having fun in comp is rare, at least for me, too much anxiety about making mistakes or not doing enough and being carried etc.
@@Iscoileachme yeah and it sucks when you want to play a certain hero for fun but instead you feel obligated to pick a hero you don't want to play as much, bc it's better for the map or comp
If you're not a strong PC player cause you hate the keyboard, Play with mouse/controller. It feels great after a little creative button mapping. Oh, just make sure you have a mouse with 6 buttons. And set the ui to pc or it'll blink when using both inputs.
you know we dont talk enough about how fun counterpicking on support is (as a support main). i fly out of spawn as a mercy main and then see enemy team is hog or lets say mauga, oh you bet im going back to spawn just so i can switch to ana and make their game as unfun as possible
nothing is more satisfying than using nade on every single one of enemy Mauga's cardiac overdrives lmao it's the ultimate "fuck you :)" I will also go Zen when my team is struggling to punish a tank who is getting away with being super aggressive lol the tank peeks, they get the funny purple baseball, and they get focused down by a zenyatta who is aggressively pinging them for their team
This is the stuff that completely fascinates me about overwatch. Dude is literally doing nothing but thinks he played good. Guys like this are why i say tank players are the dumbest, least aware players in the game. He has absolutely no idea why his team is winning or losing. He just marches to the middle of the road, hits all his buttons, and has no strategy or focus or general goal in mind.
11:46 I know Mercy was going to raz Orisa. Why stop trying to kill there Mercy and just let her go? I would have gone after her to stop the raze. First learn how to play overwatch, look around, watch were there Mercy goes and STOP THE RAZS!! Even if you're playing the tank or DPS..
as a Mercy player, yes but also no. I have a great time outplaying people who hyper focus on me. tunnel vision can be easily used against you because suddenly you have given me a very powerful tool to distract you at key moments when you REALLY need to be focusing on something else. I'm more than happy to die for an unnecessary res when it means the entire enemy team falls over or someone forgets to contest because I distracted them. don't get me wrong, sometimes stopping a res WILL be the highest value option and you should do it. a clutch, well timed res can turn a team fight. but also remember that a good mercy won't res in situations and locations that can be easily punished. you have to learn to weigh the costs and benefits.
Gonna sound like a dick, but it's so frustrating to have awareness and ability to observe, analyze and think, but no aim to implement, vs players with good reflexes, but, absolutely mindless drones. 0 awareness, 0 common sense, 100 arrogance, think thry carried the game by drilling the tank the while game, but in reality fed like crazy, don't understand cover, can't understand hp bar, can't understand los, can't see where their teammates are, can't understand a healer can't outheal dmg from 5 enemies. Nothing there. Good aim being useless, vs knowing wtf is going without the aim to do anything about it. Wtf is this sick "balance" I hate it
I have to say with the editing of this. I'm not a huge fan of the music in the background, it's nice and I understand its use but I'm confusing it for a random phone alarm or some weird ringtone going off and so it's giving me, well not quite ptsd but it makes my gut wrench and not in a nice way. I don't want to say it triggers me because then that triggers anyone who reads this and then they have to comment saying "grow up!" Am I the only one in this? Because the music is so low it shouldn't bother me in that way but then it spikes and I start to sweat. I think I need help. Help me.
Jfc STOP SHOOTING THE HORSE, this tank never created space or got any picks because he did nothing but pump damage into the unkillable horse. Tank is SO much fun but how this bum enjoys it with their terrible cool down usage and target priority... I have no idea.. cause I KNOW their teammates sure dont.
I can hear Flats screaming "stop shooting the horse".

I have a friend who mains Orisa, it is mostly the javelin and using fortify to ignore abilities.
Orisa is fun to play when you dont care about "playing her properly"
I never play tank, but I think it comes from the javelin? hitting a good one seems satisfying at least that's how I see it
The only fun part of Orisa is that feeling when you land a javelin on an ulting enemy, it's like a 'Yep Rock'. Satisfying af.
Orisa is fun asf for me, I just stand their in front of their tank and snipe their back line, feels so clean hitting a javelin and all head shots on a widow or ana half a mile away
