- I bought this Honda XR600R from FB marketplace in 2019 and finally finished up this project in the winter of 2021. I rebuilt the engine from the crank up. I painted the frame, added all new plastics, graphics, red-orange gas tank, tires, headlight mask and LED headlight, seat cover, tool bag, etc. I basically gave the whole bike new life. I enjoy bringing life back into these old beasts and keeping the history alive! Enjoy!

These old war horses will out live any double camed modern junk so comfortable to ride there like wheeling a armchair😂
Sharing an easy mod for chain guide, took out the stock guide and replaced with 2 x full bearing roller blade wheels and 1 x behind front sprocket, smoother power delivery, made a world of difference onroad and offroad.
Got an 08......also a 97 with a GB500 self start engine in it

Heads up, replace the seal in the side cover that fits over to the crank shaft. That internal seal being bad is usually what eats the big end out of these. Also replace the little black O ring on the oil pump.
I replaced both of those seals with OEM Honda parts when I rebuilt it!

God dang that bike is GOOD! Giving me inspiration my friend, just brought back an extremely clean but needing everything 87 xl600r from out west . If you see this can I ask what the symptoms for the stator was ? has is Ricky stator lived up to the hype ? After doing exhaustive research it seems that Ricky stator is the only company to buy a stator from. I wish I only had that single carb I'm currently jetting the old dual carb setup and it's a pain in the ass
Great build!, wheelieing would go easier with 2 tooth more on the back sprocket although that 60 tooth is ridiculous,
oem is 14-48, topspeed is not important on these XR's!

Nice bike! I'm currently redoing an 87 model. Is the led headlight bulb bright enough for night riding?
It’s ok, nothing absolutely amazing but much better than the stock candle light
The LED headlight is nice0 where did yo find it?
I found it on Amazon. It was an “AC” LED size BA20D for the Acerbis Elba headlight mask.
