I just wish the comments were easier to read. Maybe you can use the same shaded box you use for the artist/title for that part too? I think two things that majorly affect peoples first impression of a song is their expectations going into it (never have extremely high and unrealistic expectations) and the mood / environment the listener is in, that can change how they perceive the song at the time.
Also their music taste based on exposure - I didn't like twice, astro, or any super cutesy groups for the longest time because it seemed dumb to me. Seventeen slowly eased me into cute/fresh concepts & now I appreciate all those groups.

Lol, yeah I had a hard time choosing a song for this video. Hoenstly if I hated a song on first listen, chances are I still don't love it. In the end I picked that one, which I loved from the get go, just the rap part that threw me off initially. After reading the lyrics I got that they intentionally made it like that, then it started growing on me :)
This does an amazing job of triggering me. Edit: I am a Once, seeing twice's songs on here as well as some of the others that were Bops in my opinion pisses me off and it's okay. Maybe there are people that agree fully with the list, I don't blame either the channel or the people who picked the songs. Glad to see people shared my opinion.
I love twice but signal is a song that was hated by many at first but then people started to love it after a while. I mean the whole point of this video is songs that people didn’t like in the beginning but then love it after right? So technically they all considered it bops but after a while
I guess i am more attracted to "experimental" song vibes, because the song that I know on this list I love it on the first listen. Strange to some other non-experimental songs I will need to give it a few more tries.
I had a great dislike for ‘Kick It’ until one day I listened to it on my headphones and heard all of the building harmonies in the chorus…. Not it’s one of my fav songs of there’s vocal
I think one of the best things about k-ville is that some songs on the chart really grow on you. I bought some albums for songs that I didn't like until their 6th or 7th week on the charts and there is a lot of songs that I would never have heard in the first place without you guys!
Trust me when 'KILL THIS LOVE' came out everyone in the kpop community was talking so much shit about it, they were like its just a recycled version of D4 and i was wth.... I mean just because its edm pop doesn't mean they are same , if u r musically trained you'll know how much diff they are. But as time passed by, just when 24 hr was over it became fastest MV to reach 100M at that time, it started growing on ppl and then the song was completely hooked in ppls minds and that lil gun choreo was everything
I'm not usually a big fan of Blackpink, but Kill this love literally had me from the start. It's the one song by them that I loved from the first listen and still really enjoy, so I was a little shocked to see that so many people had difficulty enjoying it...
I loved Kill this love from the start, but it has almost identical member line order. Only difference is second rap is half Lisa half Jennie instead of all Jennie. This doesn't matter a ton, it's odd that it happened but it doesn't make them the same. But I think seeing and hearing the members in the same order made fans (especially international fans who don't speak Korean and can't differentiate the lyrics) equate the two as the same.
Kill this love was the song that got me in kpop (before I listened to one of my friend fangirling over BTS but I never really tried to search up their songs)
Kill this Love was actually the song to get me into Blackpink (and Kpop in general). I love it, but I can also see how it could be similar to d4 for some people.
I relate with Signal When I first heard it I was like wtf why did they do this And then during the whole day I had it stuck in my mind So I listened to it again And before knowing it I was doing the dance and it was in my playlist-
Well for me personally most cute type songs also known as bubblegum pop have a certain sound to them that just isn’t my thing. So I think it’s more on what the song sounds like than the visuals. Also everyone has different tastes and sometimes cute stuff just isn’t their jam.
@@bizzarelilly2495 Exactly, I like pop and cute stuff myself, but “bubblegum pop” is just too much for me. It’s kinda annoying, especially arisong. Maybe I’ve just been hearing bad songs that make bubblegum pop seem bad?? I dunno…
VIXX’s Voodoo doll is a revolution for kpop, great masterpiece. No one did such concepts before VIXX And l really don't understand why a lot of people hated Closer, even mv have а few views to compare with Fantasy
I never classify music as bad or terrible right away, I take a break and most of the time I get used to it and it becomes my favourite. The least I want is my mind saying "Didn't you say that this song was weird?". My mind is sometimes mean to me.
the fact that there's no ateez songs on the list speaks volume. everybody will love their songs even on first listen. anw, i'm still shocked with hellevator? i mean i can't get over that song after hearing it for the first time and it made me stan skz.
Not me searching for a comment which mentipns ateez o.O Also i also agree abt hellevator, its like one of the few songs from skz that i will happily replay until i die
I also grew to love Kick It! I liken it to a winterguard show. The moment towards the end when everyone comes together on flag and spins together is so immensely satisfying and makes the whole show… similarly, I think Kick It is a little scattered but it finally comes together in the last chorus with the added vocals and that moment alone makes the rest of the song worth it.
so many people weren't a fan of Itzys icy and that baffles me cause it's my favorite title track of theirs. Tbh, all of their other songs took me a while to get used to/ to love. But icy I loved from the first listen.
I had to force myself to listen to "Simon Says" a million times before I decided I liked it LOL. Now I can appreciate how iconic it is in the NCT 127 discography! The dorky line "bless me, achoo" is also very iconic!
Shinee's Tell me what to do, superm's jopping and momoland's wrap me in Plastic are great songs. It surprised me to know people used to hate these songs.
I'm the one who picked Tell me what to do, and I can tell you I never actually hated it :) There honestly aren't any songs I used to hate and now love, so I picked the closest I could manage for the theme - I initially didn't like the off-beat rap, but now I love it.
SNSD Oh! was the reason I got into kpop.It was used as a background music for some video and I kept listening to it not knowing it was "Kpop".And half the songs here are what kept me in kpop.
Love this video! I found people's reasons for changing their mind so interesting. I feel like there are a few main categories that most fell into: - The song was so catchy, so they kept hearing it and eventually got over whatever intially bothered them - Disliked because of a bias against a certain type of music (cute, EDM, experimental*, genre bending kpop etc) and then got over the bias and liked the song - Became biased for an artist and then liked the song - Dance practice or performance made them see the song in a new light
@@xkittyxxkatx For me, initially I hate it even more because I'm annoyed that it is stuck in my head. However, years later, the song becomes nostalgic and brings back memories of that time and then I love it :)
3:21 I just sneezed and that part played... and now I can't stop laughing... am I just dumb? or such a coincidence would make anyone laugh ps: my sneeze was similar to Tae's sneeze, and nothing like the cute "Ah-choo"
Kick it was something that I had to listen to a few times and really just appreciate the vibe not really the song or the video. I liked Killing Me right away but still had to listen to it for a bit to get used to it. Voo Doo doll was instant fire for me but the Closer took a minute. It was different for them. Honestly, that whole Greek God triology was something to get used to but never could say that I hated them. I can see why the list is created because the vibe could be different for the group or like someone said, the expectation especially if its your group
Kick It was my first NCT 127 comeback, and I was a little disappointed at first because the chorus wasn't sung, but rather shouted. That's not my style of music, which is why I don't like a lot of hip hop-style kpop songs. But I love how it gets people pumped up, and seeing so many idols dancing to it and having a blast listening to it has made me like it more!
@@Kingdom_Of_Dreams its great exercise music. Gets me pumped lol. I do get what you mean. Musically it was ehhh but the dancing sold me and the production too. We really come to see them dance anyway lol
from descriptions to song choices i'm getting extreme "got into kpop early 2016" vibes bc some of these are v accurate to my opinions as well intitially
A friend of mine told me that she always made a point to listen to the songs and the lyrics before watching the music videos to be able to judge the songs fairly and I think that’s good advice
The first time I heard Hellevator I absolutely loved it. I always sing off key because I'm incapable of singing lol. Simon says is also a bop 😶. And Jopping.... When I saw Bling Bling, who u are, and Tell me whay to do my heart hurt a bit

Bet Bet - NU'EST : I kinda like it...needs more listens I'm Da One - Jo Kwon : Not my taste but... i am willing to give a chance Chewing Gum - NCT Dream : Not my taste... Willing to give a chance
You know, I actually can get why most of these are on the list but seeing "Gottasadae" made my jaw drop as hard as it did the first time I heard it. At least they realized the brilliance eventually!
When Tear-BTS just came out i didn't liked it, after seeing the live performance in that Dior outfits i realized it's power and i wonder what the hell i had in mind when i skipped it
I love Red Light, but I also know that it sounded weird to a lot of people, so I was expecting it on the list. I was surprised that 4Minute Hate wasn't on the list, because a few didn't like that at first, and I thought that RV Rookie might make the list since it was divisive, but a lot of people have come around on it. I know Ah-Choo was underwhelming to some, but the soaring chorus and the funny MV make it one of my go-to feel good songs... The biggest surprise was Psycho. I thought it was epic before I was halfway through the first listen :)...
This video is gonna trigger a lot of people but I don't mind bcoz some of the songs on this list I like and some I've grown accustomed to liking them but some i may never like, I guess it all comes down to what you like listening to or what music goes along with your taste
I want to thank Eplyrata for choosing a song by BewhY because... and I‘m ashamed to say... this masterpiece just flew by me without ever hearing anything from it... and I found that his music is EXCACTELY my cup of tea and I love you now and am forever indebted to you! *bows*
Hellevator got me to Stray Kids & it's still my favorite song ❤️ I never hated this song It's a legend forever ♾️ Like the Rap Parts, the Vocals, the synchronised choreo and The EDM DROP CHORUS The sentimental feeling And the cool name of the song The cool name of the group What can I hate?!
Victim's unbelievable is such an underrated song...and so is ACE's Cactus... Amazing songs but super underrated... Honestly wanna see more viby songs like such.
I got sooooo mad when i saw Red moon by Kim Wooseok, only because i think it is one of the best kpop songs that i have EVER heard, and also no one can hate Kang Daniel, thats just impossible

I love twice but signal is a song that was hated by many at first but then people started to love it after a while. I mean the whole point of this video is songs that people didn’t like in the beginning but then love it after right? So technically they all considered it bops but after a while
im also a once but i’m not going to lie, i had to listen to signal to get used to it, and now it's definitely one of my favourites
I'm shocked at some of the entries...like who hated "Voodoo Doll" or "The Chaser" or "Hobgoblin"? Those arr bops
Ikr
I agree about the VIXX one
AGREE! Yo I feel kinda sad(?)
well they like the songs now sooo
I used to hate hobgoblin for a hot minute and now I wonder what was wrong with me
I guess i am more attracted to "experimental" song vibes, because the song that I know on this list I love it on the first listen.
I bought some albums for songs that I didn't like until their 6th or 7th week on the charts and there is a lot of songs that I would never have heard in the first place without you guys!
i’m not cool - hyunah
i lowkey hated it at first but then i saw the performances and well... now i love it
THE CHASER ??? I mean ??? REALLY ??? HOW ??? But since the person loves it now I guess I can forgive.......
An amazing song!
Blackpink - Ice cream
Thats my choice
Its actually catchy after a few times
Yesss
Yeah I like the song but the lyrics are kinda idk 🤷♀️
No
Seventeen-BoomBoom, Dawn-Dawndididawn,Wayv-love talk,Ikon-killing me,Seventeen-Home;Run,MCND-Ice age
How can someone hate this AMAZING SONGS😭😭🥺
@@__lorii oh wow I just commented almost the exact same thing as you XD
I relate with Signal
When I first heard it I was like wtf why did they do this
And then during the whole day I had it stuck in my mind
So I listened to it again
And before knowing it I was doing the dance and it was in my playlist-
I staned them after hearing signal
The amount of yall hating a song for no other reason besides it’s ‘cute’........
Well for me personally most cute type songs also known as bubblegum pop have a certain sound to them that just isn’t my thing. So I think it’s more on what the song sounds like than the visuals. Also everyone has different tastes and sometimes cute stuff just isn’t their jam.
Yeah, it's almost as if people have different tastes in music..
i like some cutesy songs but not all i like more of girl crush, soft, upbeat, sad, meaningful, powerful, and rap
@@bizzarelilly2495 Exactly, I like pop and cute stuff myself, but “bubblegum pop” is just too much for me. It’s kinda annoying, especially arisong. Maybe I’ve just been hearing bad songs that make bubblegum pop seem bad?? I dunno…
I Love You by TREASURE was the reason why I stan them, but yeah, everyone has their own music taste
I mean my music it is like "going crazy" and that song was my intro to treasure but I freaking loved "I love you" from the first listen
When I first listened to Red Velvet's Psycho it soundes so boring but now it's one of my Fav Songs :D Such a powerful Song
Itzy Mafia in the morning is one of these songs for me.
ME TOO
VIXX’s Voodoo doll is a revolution for kpop, great masterpiece. No one did such concepts before VIXX
And l really don't understand why a lot of people hated Closer, even mv have а few views to compare with Fantasy
Found you 🙈 I thought there's no one commented about VIXX here 😅 But yeah I love Voodoo and The closer so much 🥰
Omg me being a Starlight, Shawol, Inspirit, and those are exactly one of my ultimate fav songs of them 🤡🤡
How ironic Voodoo doll now are my favourite, because now I love creepy stuff
I love you by treasure is such a bop. I could write an essay on how much I love the song
me to
Mee too I also love this song very much 💕
Killing me by iKon. Completely dissed it and now listen to it almost everyday. IKon is good at making you love their music.
i never hated, i absolutely love their music!!! We're all different:)
No one hated Oh from SNSD... it was literally a bop back then....
I never classify music as bad or terrible right away, I take a break and most of the time I get used to it and it becomes my favourite. The least I want is my mind saying "Didn't you say that this song was weird?". My mind is sometimes mean to me.
I fell in love with Gottasadae at the first listening !
the fact that there's no ateez songs on the list speaks volume. everybody will love their songs even on first listen.
anw, i'm still shocked with hellevator? i mean i can't get over that song after hearing it for the first time and it made me stan skz.
Not me searching for a comment which mentipns ateez o.O
Also i also agree abt hellevator, its like one of the few songs from skz that i will happily replay until i die
Absolutely love Red Moon.
I like it too
2 summer songs, Not Shy and Icy and people liked Not Shy more than Icy :(
I like Icy more than Not Shy
@@Cheese_Doggy12 I like not shy and my fav of all is wannabe
I was really shock when "Hellevator", "A" and "Home run" was in the list
They are in my fav kpop song playlist lol
SNSD Oh! was the reason I got into kpop.It was used as a background music for some video and I kept listening to it not knowing it was "Kpop".And half the songs here are what kept me in kpop.
They are so many songs that I love sooooo much for example Night Rather Than Day, Bling Bling & Psycho
Love this video! I found people's reasons for changing their mind so interesting. I feel like there are a few main categories that most fell into:
- The song was so catchy, so they kept hearing it and eventually got over whatever intially bothered them
- Disliked because of a bias against a certain type of music (cute, EDM, experimental*, genre bending kpop etc) and then got over the bias and liked the song
- Became biased for an artist and then liked the song
- Dance practice or performance made them see the song in a new light
@@xkittyxxkatx For me, initially I hate it even more because I'm annoyed that it is stuck in my head. However, years later, the song becomes nostalgic and brings back memories of that time and then I love it :)
3:21 I just sneezed and that part played... and now I can't stop laughing... am I just dumb? or such a coincidence would make anyone laugh
ps: my sneeze was similar to Tae's sneeze, and nothing like the cute "Ah-choo"
Gosh, Cactus - bullet straight through my heart... 😭😁 I love all ACE songs.
For real 😳
When I heard Cactus for first time I loved it haha
OMG, I really love Nu'est 'Bet Bet Bet' since their MV promo release. They never produce any bad song for their single hits, I swear 😅✌
Exactly ❤️🔥
from descriptions to song choices i'm getting extreme "got into kpop early 2016" vibes bc some of these are v accurate to my opinions as well intitially
There’s a lot of songs that I don’t like on the first listen but then I listen to it 2-3 times and I start liking it
A friend of mine told me that she always made a point to listen to the songs and the lyrics before watching the music videos to be able to judge the songs fairly and I think that’s good advice
When I first heard "Bang Bang Bang" I hated it but now when I heard it again, I LOVE IT!!
I thought Emergency by DAY6 was really weird at first but i went through character development now it's so catchy and I'm in love with it
From the moments I pressed play Perfume has definitely been one of my favs of 2021.
Ok but i think all straykids songs masterpiece from the start, am i the only one?
The first time I heard Hellevator I absolutely loved it. I always sing off key because I'm incapable of singing lol. Simon says is also a bop 😶. And Jopping.... When I saw Bling Bling, who u are, and Tell me whay to do my heart hurt a bit
Jopping is such a bop

Hellevator has never been a bad song for me, like it’s so good
Me too, since I first heard, so far hellevator is my favorite song😃
You know, I actually can get why most of these are on the list but seeing "Gottasadae" made my jaw drop as hard as it did the first time I heard it. At least they realized the brilliance eventually!
Platonic love and ahchoo being here is painful
THE CHASER HOW
agreed
AS A BIG ASS INFINITE FAN IM SO SHOCKED TO SEE THEM HERE
THEY HAVE NO SKIPS
Being a BIG FAN of SNUPER, that was so painful!!!
And I also love INFINITE and Lovelyz!!! So I was crying!!! XD
Kill this love WAS A BOP and still is a bop😌💅🏻.
Am I the only one who has liked Signal from the beginning?
My brain automatically switches to chanting "Ring Ding Dong" and "Zimzalabim" during online classes. 😂
When Tear-BTS just came out i didn't liked it, after seeing the live performance in that Dior outfits i realized it's power and i wonder what the hell i had in mind when i skipped it
ironic that that is my favorite rap-line song lol
I liked it at first listen, since I was in hip-hop and Tear grew on me harder when I understand the meaning behind it
i love your ideas for videos💜
I love Red Light, but I also know that it sounded weird to a lot of people, so I was expecting it on the list. I was surprised that 4Minute Hate wasn't on the list, because a few didn't like that at first, and I thought that RV Rookie might make the list since it was divisive, but a lot of people have come around on it. I know Ah-Choo was underwhelming to some, but the soaring chorus and the funny MV make it one of my go-to feel good songs... The biggest surprise was Psycho. I thought it was epic before I was halfway through the first listen :)...
4Minute Hate was my pick for the last one of these we did.
Gottasade slaps tbh. I get goosebumps everytime his iconic rap phrase comes on
This video is gonna trigger a lot of people but I don't mind bcoz some of the songs on this list I like and some I've grown accustomed to liking them but some i may never like, I guess it all comes down to what you like listening to or what music goes along with your taste
Love talk - Wayv
The chaser - infinite
These... in the first seconds, I immediately loved them and are some of my favorites songs of all kpop
I feel like almost every single SM song would be on this list at one point or another 😂 (especially with NCT)
I want to thank Eplyrata for choosing a song by BewhY because... and I‘m ashamed to say... this masterpiece just flew by me without ever hearing anything from it... and I found that his music is EXCACTELY my cup of tea and I love you now and am forever indebted to you! *bows*
Me who liked all of them on the first listen : *’That’s alright, people have different tastes. Good that they appreciate them though’*
ICY was already a masterpiece when it was announced as title track
Same for senorita
Zimzalabim, that's the comment.
A.C.E - Cactus my first song A.C.E and I fell in love with them right away 💕 Now I love every song 🔥
I'm shocked about Dawndididawn being in this list. It's such a good song with an amazing beat and the meaning behind it is important 💕
Hellevator got me to Stray Kids & it's still my favorite song ❤️
I never hated this song
It's a legend forever ♾️
Like the Rap Parts, the Vocals, the synchronised choreo and The EDM DROP CHORUS
The sentimental feeling
And the cool name of the song
The cool name of the group
What can I hate?!
I wasn't very impressed with "A" first but man this is hell of a catchy song...I rewatch everytime I feel off...GOT7 never had a bad song!
Hellevator is soo good!!
Wow I didn't know this video would be so controversial haha. People have different preferences, no need to take it personally 😂
You didn’t see the last one’s comment section then 🤣 Makes no sense to me at all why they react this way. I guess the lack of reading comprehension?
Victim's unbelievable is such an underrated song...and so is ACE's Cactus... Amazing songs but super underrated... Honestly wanna see more viby songs like such.
Idk abt you guys but I personally love AYA since it's released it's a masterpiece and my fav song of MAMAMOO so far.
Some of these songs where my favorites right from the start
I got sooooo mad when i saw Red moon by Kim Wooseok, only because i think it is one of the best kpop songs that i have EVER heard, and also no one can hate Kang Daniel, thats just impossible
I agree. Both were my favourites from the start
Did I just saw love talk in the list this song attracted me and made me addicted I'm not even wayv fun
