It is great that yo;u have a place to do the work that is not on the boat. I enjoy your videos.

My windlass is causing delam in the core around the windlass hole. Unfortunately, I don’t have a removeable deck plate. Too bad for me. Any suggestions for my situation?

The binder used in chopped strand matting is not soluble in epoxy based resins and diminishes the strength of the finished product. You're probably going to be okay for this repair, but I thought you should know about that for future endeavours.

Thanks for pointing that out. If this was structural I definitely wouldn’t be using chop strand, but it does a pretty good job when you just need to slam some epoxy somewhere :)

Good job. Would soda blasting clean up the housing?

Definitely, but it might damage the gaskets or the shaft seals. The paint is protective but doesn’t have to be beautiful- I can paint over the remaining paint which is all well stuck on there.

Could have used paint remover as well.
