When you are actually there it is a lot stepper than it looks. 7:07 through the video is where my dad and I tried to get back up to the top and it took us about 10 minutes or so. You are really good.
Nice summary video! I rode/roamed the property a few years ago before all of the work and went back to ride the actual trails for the first time today. It's definitely, definitely worth the trip, they did a great job overall. BUT, it's not really something for the entry level. You need a legitimate bike 🤣 it's not just rocks but you have cobbles, boulders and even meteors all over lol... and you will back the bolts out of your box store bike pretty quickly. There's another smaller track over past the Metroparks office trailer and that's really pretty cool, too. Would recommend to everyone to spend Day #1 roaming the overall property to really see what's out there because (at least as of now) there's more than meets the eye. And then the next time focus on what you found and you like. There's a boatload of acreage to cover, you can spend more than one day finding things on this land.
Great video !!!, You rip Jump Farmer. This spot has unlimited potential, but as another commentator wrote, a professional track builder should be involved. I can't imagine this rockscape will ever draw a crowd as it sits. Saying that I'm greatly appreciative of the effort to date. I rode to the park and will be back whenever I have a couple of hours to kill. The first hill I crested had a steep 20-foot descent into loose gravel. I was dressed for a crash, but managed. What would it take to get a crew in there to fix this place? A skid steer with a Rock Hound to clean up all that sharp limestone would be a start. A hundred trucks of whatever dirt they have and a little grooming with a power rake. I was the only one down there on the best day of the year, last Saturday. The sledding hill looks amazing. I'll bet the crew of that project could knock out a few solid /mtn bike trails in a week or two.
As a novice rider I was really looking forward to this opening and have found it pretty disappointing. Tons of straight-line backyard jump trail and 0 flow. We're coming up on 2 years the trails have been open and there's nowhere near the level of activity there could be because the trails are clunky and intimidating. Somebody at Metroparks messed up by not letting COMBO build and manage these.
That's disappointing to hear. I've been looking for other local trails to change it up from my usual rides at Alum Creek Phase 1 and 2, but it sounds like this is one to miss.
So cool. I actually solve Rubik's cubes on my channel, but I made my own mountain bike trail in the forest behind my house. It is pretty sick. If you want me to do a video about my own trail just say so.
@@jumpfarmer Thanks man - contemplating using this trail to get get back confidence after 3 years off essentially. dont think I've gotten air in a long time and those jumps look like nice beginner jumps.
Thank you! I've got lots more, proud of my personal bike park in my backyard. Gave you a few views and a sub. What do you find works best for growing your channel? My channel traffic has been 10% of what it was for 2 months now. Shorts seem to be the only thing getting views but very short lived and timing is crucial. I see you have over a 1k subs already which I'm really hoping to reach.
Solid video. Drove up there today from Lancaster to check these trails out thanks to your video. Definitely worth the trip.
Thank you! Glad to help/inspire others

Thank you! Yes, I like your summary as well
Wow thank you for this! I live in Columbus and didn’t know this existed
Awesome, I haven't been back yet, hopefully they have done some maintenance!

Thank you! Not sure how it is going to happen but I hope some improvements come along

Indeed, definitely fell short of its potential. I haven't been back

This was the first place I tried mountain biking. 😀
What day were you there when you were filming because we might have seen you? We were there on a Sunday.

Always cool to see private builds!
I may make a private video about it and give you a link to it.
Today it is raining though. 😥
How do you hold your camera when you ride and what camera do you use?
Gopro 10 black usually chest harness, sometimes chin mount on my full face
Ok. Nice. I sadly don't have a go pro.
Is this by the quarry near riverside drive? WHere do you park to get in?
Yes, other side of the river. Search Google maps for it there is a specific trailhead for the mountain bike area

Do you think this would be a good beginner trail?
There are multiple difficulties so it's not bad. A fair amount of loose gravel so proceed with some caution at least first time around
May be visiting Columbus and was looking for places to ride with more "advanced" trails/features. This place looks janky as hell lol.
Indeed, you should definitely check out horns hill, I haven't been back in way too long but there's not much better in Ohio
ya Horns Hill seems pretty legit that was definitely on my list!@@jumpfarmer
Chestnut Ridge Mtb trail just south of Columbus has a trail called More Cowbell that has a much better flow and nice big jumps.
I live close to this trail do you?
I am just over an hour away near Dayton
Nice I live in pickerington.
@@jumpfarmerjust moved to dayton, any good trails around?
Nice video!! I think you'll like my videos too!
