Not really, he fluffs the lyrics in the 1st fast verse and the drummer (who was admittedly too fast for the others) skillfully adds a few more beats to compensate for his enibriated band mate. They were too pissed to keep up, but the crowd obviously loved it.
I got drunk and tripped on acid in a church in 96 or so and slept there. I noticed graffiti etched in the masonry from other rebels from over 100 years before. Fascinated. And yes, I did throw up at one point haha.
I don't know if this is the best song of all times, or if it's "Sally Mc Lennane", or "Streams of Whisky" or "If I should Fall From Grace with God" or "Thousands Are Sailing" or "Fairytale of New York" or...
God bless Shane Macgovan 🙏 🌟🎶🎶
Went all the way from London to Belgium to see the Pogues on 2 coaches. A liteny of bad behaviour from start to finish led to us being turned back from the Belgium border at 4 or 5am by about 15 cops with machines guns. After another ferry trip back to England, then they told us to get our all stuff off the Coaches at Dover ready to go through customs. Once we got of the coaches, the bastards fled back to London and left us stranded. About 20 of us got a National Express coach back to London and the rest had to get the train. Good times lol.
"and we sing a song of liberty for blacks and packs of jocks" im a jock, im the same as irish,im the same as the blacks,we're a fuckin oppressed community. The day we stand united is the day we win. Think about it..........
There was no one quite like Shane. RIP, sir.
He lives on.. He doesnt seem dead to me
😊Absolutely marvelous!! Bravo 🎉
RIP Shane!
no one can do it better !!! Love him and the Pogues forever !!! Greets from Germany !!!
R.I.P. Shane
Love this, it's the first time I have seen him sing this song on stage. The Pogues are good, Shane MacGowan is great
may his sweet soul rest in peace 🙏
He is an absolute legend
Shane is the tightest musician on stage for this one.

Love this song. I remember when my ex school friend spewed in the church at midnight mass. (Robert).

Or pair of brown eyes, cotton fields, Christmas lullaby

How is Shane the only one who isn't pissed beyond the ability to play? What universe is this?
He was knocking the band out of time.. i love the guy but he was shocker live
The disconsolation of a 7-up bottle...
It's a miracle that the singer is still alive
9 years later he is still plugging lmao
He's not.

It's St Patricks Day 2019 time to play Sickbed!
The pouges are timeless. Not like many of the 80s groups
Which came first, whiskey or Shane?
Neither exists without the other

Frank Ryan bought you whiskey in a brothel In Madrid, Up the ra
The Irish Brigade fronted by Frank Ryan fought the fascists during the Spanish Civil War
I love this song, but this performance is fucking awful.
It's a shame too, because Shane is doing pretty well, it's the rest of the band who dropped the ball.
