Great video. I just replaced mine on my 2010 W221, however after replacing it, the "auxiliary battery malfunction " still comes on in the dash...I thought it was probably a bad battery so I replaced ot with another one and same thing...new auxiliary battery has 12.5 volts...is there anything I need to do to reset that message??

2013 s550 Lately I find myself starting my car get to where I'm going and everything All of a sudden I turn off the but when I want to turn it on again it doesn't turn on. If I wait like half an hour or an hour it turns on. Now I don't have the accessory battery like come on. Do you think that will have to do with the auxiliary battery or just the regular battery or both.
Any advice on my 2008 Mercedes Benz s550 my screen turns on and off some times it stays on longer but always cuts off . And the car was sitting for a while before I bought it , I took the batteries to charge can it still be a bad battery
I jusy notice that the bracket where the Auxiliary Battery goes mounted on 4:23 has a #5 Fuse, if that fuse its blown would have the same issues as if the Auxiliary Battery was bad?

Well I am searching for some clues for my problem - I got a MB S550 2008 Base, now I have a problem that the ABS warning sign is on, and multiple featuers are not working (seems to be related to control module power low). I double checked the alternator and its charging, it seems fine. On idle speed, the main battery (12.69V and 14.41V charging) and auxilliary battery (12.20V and 14.00V charging). These figures seemed to be fine to me, even though the charging voltage would increase slowly and get to the above reading in a few minutes. I had the car checked up by an BM service place, and they said that they read the code stored and it reports the power (volt on terminal 30) to control module varies and was below 10.5V, 8V and 7V, which cause multiple consequence faults. I wonder if you could shed some lights on what would be the faulty party? The MB service was pointing to the alternator faulty, but it doesn't match up the alternator checkup tests. I was wondering what would be the things that I need to look up? What is possibly the faulty party when the alternator and its voltage regulator are good, but still cause the power to control module to be low? Many thanks...

Hey great video very informative helped me a lot with my 2011 MB S550 I just purchased. I have a question for you when putting your car on a lift do you have to press anything for the air suspension so that it doesn’t over inflate and break ?
Thank you for watching my video. No, there is nothing you have to press. I can only speak for my car as it's the only MB I worked on. When you turn car off after driving it, you should hear a hissing sound. It's expelling air and when you start it back up it will inflate air in suspension as needed. air is stored in the accumulator it has. Hope this helps, if you have any further questions let me know. My 2007 s500l has been parked up for a couple of years outdoors,Upon replacing the main 2 batteries all kinds of warning lights have come up.The reverse camera works intermitantly,the audio has stopped working,video in headrests is ok..Im not sure if these issues are related to the auxiliary battery not being replaced.
Not to sure because it has been parked for so long it can be anything. I would start with the aux battery to see if that takes care of the issue. If that doesn't work it can be electricall issue or a short. I know at times when cars are parked for to long rodents can get inside and chew electrical wires.
@@alkahn4969 I'm not positive about your year because mine is underneath the steering wheel, but I will take a guess and say it's most likely in your trunk mid section if there's a panel. A lot of people have stated the older models it was back there. If you can't find it best advice is call the dealership and ask the parts department.
Question: would you happen to know what went wrong, after changing my auxiliary battery, all my warning sensors came on, as well as my main command center shut off? But the car drives fine, but yet I noticed as well that my brake lights stayed on. What I thought was a simple auxiliary battery replacement is now becoming a major headache! Please let me know if you happened to have an answer for me, thank you so much!
Thanks for watching my video. I never had that happen to me, but if it just happened when you changed to battery double check your connection and also wires on correct side. If that is fine I would call MB and see what they say.

I have a 2007 s550 I have put 2 new battery’s in my car the one to start and the one in the trunk dose my car also have one under the dash and would it have anything to do with my instrument cluster cus it doesn’t turn on any suggestions for me thanks
thank you for taking the time looking at my videos. I have a 2012 S550 and my car is the only Benz i have worked on. A lot of people do say the older models do have two batteries vise mine that has only one. I do have the small battery, but it's a back to the main one. I don't believe in my opinion the battery has anything to do with the instrument cluster. only thing I can think is to check your fuse, locate the voltage regulator feeding power to it, and worst case can be a wiring issue. (maybe rodent chewed wire) sorry not much of a help but I hope you this will lead you to the right path. again, thanks for watching my video and hope you became a subscriber
Bro, thanks much!! I think you did remember my could not start? Guess what, its the key. I got a new key from MB Dealer it starts. However I have some few lights: auxiliary battery malfunction, power steering(in red)... Also the rear wheel can't move forward when put in drive. The car runs perfect in reverse. Is the power steering hydraulic or electric? Do you have to program the auxiliary battery? Regards, Andrew
Wow, wondering why you needed a new key and the old one wasn't working. The aux battery malfunction does not need to be reprogrammed. Soon as you swap it the alarm clears. If power steering in red might be a bad pump or electric motor fried. If it can't move forward have you checked to see that the emergency brake not engaged still. Might be your calipers are shot but you will have to troubleshoot
@@BEARDEDHANDYMAN Thanks bro. Yes the car first came to the auction without a key but later the seller brought some key...so there if thought I got the wrong key. For power steering, the damage was in the front end so the radiator needs replacement as all coolants hose are missing. I think if I get thsoe complete it should go away. I will keep you posted. No, ac a total separate system. Aux battery is for the electronics. If your car is blowing hot air it can be a leak in the system or not enough refrigerant in it. Worst case, compressor
Just seeing your message but the main battery controls your radio and electronics. Aux battery just there to assist main battery when voltage goes low and for other electronics

I think the yr makes a difference, mine is a 2012 and there's no aux battery in the back. Someone also told me there's a battery in the trunk but I only have one underneath the hood
I believe they switched to this smaller AUX14 battery in 2008 or 09... I have an 07 and she has that huge H8 AGM battery in the trunk behind the rear seat. But her starter battery under the hood is a much smaller one, I believe a 35 ah one only. But after they switched to the smaller aux consumer battery they replaced the smaller starter battery under the hood with the larger H8 battery from the trunk as the new starter battery. I think this switch happened in 08 W221s and remains that way till today even in the W222
