Three other telltale signs of quality construction:
    1. Buttons - High end brands have carved or embossed buttons, especially if they are metal. Cheaper brands have plain matte plastic buttons. Mid-range brands have shell or wood buttons, as do some vintage brands.
    2. Zippers - High end brands have solid, heavy zippers. Cheaper brands have flimsy zippers that bend and break easily.
    3. Designer couture brands have weighted chains on the hem of their blazers to keep the shape and embossed linings with the brand logo or signature prints.

Totally agree about not supporting companies like Shien and Temu, not only the terrible labor situations but their stuff is junk made with cheap fabric and their ads are SO ANNOYING!!
Also- when you go tripping at the bins you can't look at the tags first if you're trying to be smart with time so I just go based on material and condition pull things out, then glance at the tag. Then I just trust my gut if I'm going to get it or not takes too much time to look anything up I'm All About Time versus money when it comes to thrifting LOL in and out quicker!!

I headed to the bins after only getting to watch the "tag" portion of this video and it made a pair of jeans catch my eye. I ended up with a like new pair of SPRWMN jeans that I would not have even bothered to grab or look up if I hadn't watched your video! Thank you for the content! As a stay at home mom thats popping in and out of the reselling game when life happens to slowdown in between having babies, your videos have been incredibly helpful with keeping up!

Thank you saying you want to support better working conditions for their workers. We try to support them as well. As of this year we stopped buying new clothes & only thrift. Plus, l just started reselling. It’s so much work but it’s my passion. I LOVE finding quality items & selling them at a fair prices as well as provide that service for my buyers. So l look at this as providing that kind of service & saving them money & time. It’s great for the environment too! 🎉🎊🥳❤️💓💕 PLUS it’s a win for all! ❤

You can absolutely determine if something is high quality by doing this, touching the fabric, material content, or if it is expensive if you’re familiar with the brand, however, none of these things should be used alone to determine whether something is worth reselling. This is a mistake most make when they start reselling & is a waste of time & money.
Expensive & high quality doesn’t necessarily mean it is worth reselling, there are so many high-end expensive brands that have low resell value & low sell through rate.
There are also variables like trends, material, styles, etc within each brand. In trend styles & brands are constantly changing so we have to always keep researching & learning.
There are many things to consider when trying to determine if something is worth buying to resell, it may seem like a lot at first, but over time, you do it automatically.
Gross profit margin is very important, taking into consideration all expenses related to reselling like COG, gas, shipping, packaging, subscriptions, ink, paper, taxes. Sold comps, sell through rate (this one is very important), just to name a few. This is the only way to make an informed decision instead of guessing just because the material / garment feels high quality, or it is from an expensive brand.

Goodwill’s mission is not what people may think. They’re supposed to help people in their program find jobs and teach them skills. They don’t do that with their program they pay the clients $6 hr. I know from working there. They keep them for years bc they don’t have to pay much. They had adults with autism for a little while, but they didn’t hang clothes fast enough so they got rid of them. I left when I found out the truth it’s heartbreaking.
