Just regarding the "Maids" using the word "Revenge"
In Japan, we tend to use the word "Revenge" in the same meaning as "Re-challenge" or "Retry, rather than meaning it as some sort of "retribution".
I like the idea that they are taking revenge on the pandemic 🤣
A revenge on fate. They have refused to let covid stop world domination
MISA had her "Revenge of Ass-Chin" after she missed an OKYUJI because of being sick with flu. I think the meaning is intuitive, actually. Sometimes the French version of the word is used, "revanche."

Kanami wins the Cuteness Award. She looked adorable with all her mannerisms. She is kooky, and thats why she writes such crazy good music.
Resting her head on Saiki's shoulder made me grin like a loon! She has to be the most adorable genius I have ever seen!
Kanami is my favorite 5 year old 31 year old guitarist. I fell head over heels in love with her during the Herman Li interview. From her and Miku's introduction and her saying "I am Kanami" and Herman asking his first question to her, and she says in her very high voice (Hai), she melted my heart ( she already melted my face). I thought Miku was going to have to give her a piece of candy or a toy to keep her from fidgeting. Miku is all kinds of adorable, but Kanami is the most naturally kawaii of our superheroes. I have never had this kind of emotional and musical connection to a band before ( and I am old,).
Just posted a comment about the same thing. I've called it the Kanami side show.They got it a bit wrong- she has the six year old child inside the body of a 30 yesar old. Just when you think that you can't love this band any more, they do something even more adorable XXX.

BAND-MAID is incredible in everyway. I guessed they were going announce the release of another album but I thought it wouldn't be till the fall... lucky us - it comes sooner!!!
Kanami said that Saiki has chosen the best songs from what Kanami has written already, and they will be released as an EP this Summer. But it means, they have a lot of other songs, which are all fitting for the B-side. Does it mean they will have a whole album of those songs later? We know that normally the B-sides on BAND-MAID singles are better than the A-sides...

I just love these group interviews etc. I, and many other madiacs will have observed the Kanami side show that goes on during them. Pretending to have binoculars, resting her head on Saiki's shoulder (well who wouldn't), pretending to fly with her arms out like wings, poking her face with her finger, rocking from side to side. All done while stearing straight at the camera- just adorable.
I love how random this seems. Seems pretty unlikely that Miku had a notecard with a bullet point to talk about eating beef tongue and describe their misadventures in motoring. 🤣
In my world it is always the Day of Maid. I could watch these five incredibly talented women for hours. Love when Kanami rests her head on Saiki's shoulder. Band Maid rocks!!!!
It was fun, it was sweet, it was lovely, it was... exciting!, love this band and how much they care for their fans. Can't wait for the new EP!, i'm sure it will be freakin awesome

I’ll have to watch it again on larger screen to be able to read subtitles. What you couldn’t miss was their friendship and the chemistry between them. I enjoyed just watching their interactions with each other. The song was a bonus. Can’t wait to see them in Silver Spring.

Kanami is everyone's "girl next door," the adorable, dorky girl next door, who also happens to be a musical genius, while getting her degree in economics. With Kanami, as Akane says, "What you see is what you get."

Miku and Saiki's chemistry is so much beer since their bandmaid nippon radio program together.
The Eggman, Shibuya venue is famous in Band-Maid history. They played their first one man headline show there on 8 Feb 2014. The setlist contains 13 songs and there are a few photos etc regarding this event. Thrill is the only song still played from this period and appears on a setlist from November 2014, the now famous video released on 20 November.
Well, they still play some songs from MAID IN JAPAN. They played Yoake Mae (Before Dawn) in Kobe in January 2020.

Just like with a Band-Maid song, I find myself going back to focus on them individually, in this case watching their expressions, like at 12:55.
I also imagine Kanami going, "Oooh, look at the pretty cloud!" while the others are screaming "Stay on the road!" from the backseat : )
Oh, and "not be loud" = no cheering or singing along in Japan because of COVID guidelines : ( Hopefully that will be able to change soon.
Yes, Wave did not get this part at the moment. But I hope that they will actually cancel all the limitations by the time those OKYUJIs start. It seems COVID has passed into the state of endemic disease, rather than an acute pandemic. Something like 80% of people are already vaccinated, and the rest have had COVID already, so, they must also be immune.
So sweet to see Kanami rest her head on Saiki's shoulder. Saiki did not move a muscle so it seems she is used to these little shows of affection. Very interesting presentation.

I was trying to watch the maids live earlier during a training course on Teams and trying not to get caught turning around to read the subtitles on my laptop setup to the side of me.
It was good to see you and some of the other reactors in the stream. For me it started at 5 AM so I had an extremely long night and then slept until noon. Can't wait to see them in PA later this year.

Beef tongue is cheap and vastly underrated. I've used it in stir fries, burritos, tacos, topped a risotto with it, etc. Good, rich flavor.
Good work staying up for this one, Wave. I'm a time zone over from you, so it was on at 5:00 am for me. I gave it a shot, but I couldn't stay awake. MISA's huge bass strap, Kobato's floral-smelling strap, and Mincho's pick would be nice to have, though I'd be afraid to use them should the signatures wear off. I'd definitely frame and display Saiki's fan.

I miss beef tongue. It's getting harder to get everytime I go to Japan, too. I'm going there first time in 2 years myself. Can't wait. But I'm gonna miss out on pre US tour gig sadly.
@@lurkmerchant Oh yeah? Where in Japan are you going? On my first trip there, we went to Sapporo for the Snow Festival. On the second trip, we went to the Yokohama area so my wife and I could surf on Shonan Beach. Next time we go might be to catch Wagakki Band the next time they play at Budokan, but that's quite up in the air right now.

Wave, of course, had time to create and release another EP. They don't waste their time playing covers for new videos. These amazing women do real WORK creating unique and evolving their music without wasting time making cover videos.
It's year and a half since their last album. I was actually expecting a new full album. But an "EP" can easily be 8 or 9 songs. New Beginning and Brand New Maid are considered EPs.

My thinking is that Band-Maid will have given us two great singles and EPs in that year and a half. You have to agree that Kanami must have worked hard rewriting all those songs into acoustic versions for their Christmas concert and the new songs on the upcoming EP. two things. By the way, have you ever read the 2020 PRS Feature Artist bio and interview with Kanami?

I think Kamani means that all the songs on the EP were chosen just like she would choose a song for a single release, so we will be getting the best of the best of her new songs. I also think it was mentioned that Saiki approved all the songs or helped pick the songs, that was a little unclear.
@@glenkelley6799 My immediate thought was, they have a ton of songs ready, but Kanami wanted to have the best of the best for this EP. But what do they do with the rest? If they are like normal BAND-MAID singles B-sides, they must be much better than the A-sides. So, it's either that we see another EP by the end of the year, or a full album next January?

I am about to commit heresy, but in my more cynical moments I sometimes wonder if Kanami's off stage goofiness, her child like actions in interviews and her 'love' of Saiki aren't all an act. The moment she is talking on a tech subject she is lucid and organised, her pedal board demands a high level of understanding of the considerable tech involved. The fact that she was able to teach Miku to play a creditable guitar and Miku could not be an easy student. Apart from the rare stage hug, Saiki seems to be indifferent to her many little affections. You would have thought it was one thing or another by now. I am entranced by Kanami. Whether real or designed I love her child like goofiness and her on stage guitar monster. I so really hope that it is genuine and that she is just that very special unexplained child genius mixture that we all love.
