For those of you have problems with the beginning chain stitch and making longer, I spent an hour and I think I figured it out.
    It’s multiples of 3 +1.
So for example the pattern is 72 (+1 to skip) 72/3=24.
On her example showing us how, she has a starting chain of 22. Which is 21+1 because (21/3=7 +1) and so on.
I tried it out with other multiples of 3 + 1 and has worked out so hopefully this helps anyone having trouble. :)

Just wanted to post this comment here so more people can see it. You're going to encounter a fair amount of issues in this pattern but I've worked through them all and I'm here to answer questions.
If you want to get past row two, you need to start with 73 chains.
the next issue you're going to find is the amount of rows you need to end the repeating v stitch on. she says to crochet until row 42, but i counted how many rows she did, and you'll actually need to stop at 43. 43 rows counting the starting chain and sc rows. If you stop at 42 like she says in the video, you leave off at a triple crochet row, which isn't correct.
now, you are finally at the part where you need to do the 44th and final row. you'll notice that she doesn't say how many single crochet stitches are supposed to be in this row. I counted when i finished, and i had 70. if you're like me, you're probably thinking "how tf am i supposed to sew these sides together if the amount of single crochets i have isn't equal to the amount of chains i did in the start?" my answer for that is that i have no clue. what i did to fix this is i crocheted 2 extra sc stitches in this row. so, I added an extra sc stitch in the dbl crochet v stitch hole closest to the start of the row, and i added an extra sc stitch in the dbl crochet v stitch hole closest to the end of the row. this way the extra stitches would be distributed in a way that looked even. just in case you got lost in that, i basically just had 2 sc in one of the dbl crochet holes instead of one stitch, and i did that twice so i'd have 72 stitches. now you're left with 72 which still isn't enough. so, if you notice at around 13:05, she does NOT put a stitch into the chain 3 turning chain which leaves a weird indent. so, to get the 73rd stitch i needed, i crocheted into the chain 3 space. not directly into the actual chain like we did for most of the pattern, i went into the space instead.
the next issue i'm finding is she says at 13:34 that you're supposed to go 11 rows in, but "she did it wrong and only did 11" which doesn't make any sense because she told us to do 11 rows. you'll also see that when she counts "11 rows in," she actually counts 15 rows in, or 13 if you don't count the starting chain and first sc row. then, she actually MOVES her stitch marker at 14:30. so now, the marker is at the 17th row, or 15 if you don't count the starting chain and first sc row. so, i ended up counting how many rows she did in the completed sweater and surprisingly, she did mean to say 11 rows. but, what she should have said was 13, because she doesnt count the starting chain and single crochet row. so, basically ignore everything i said before and just place the stitch marker for the shoulders in the 13th row (13 counting the starting chain and sc row)
the final issue that I encountered was when I finally finished the shirt and tried it on for the first time. I'm sure you'll notice pretty immediately that the fit is not great. it looks nice in the front but what you can't see in chenda's pictures is a god awful duck tail that you get from the back being too big. i tried to cinch in the fabric by crocheting around like how we did with the cuff but i ended up with a sweater i could not take on and off by myself because of the waist being too tight. what i ended up doing to fix this was basically just addiing a drawstring to it. i weaved a string in and out of the sweater along the hem, cut it, and tied it when worn with the ends tucked in. It's definitely not perfect, but i was happy with it.

I know this is super late, but in case you still wanted to know and for other people who may be wondering, in the materials list she says you need 380g of mercerized cotton yarn. I'm using Coboo and each of those balls are 100g so presumably, I should need 4 balls of yarn to complete the top if I make the same size she does in the video.

i’ve gotten as far as sewing the shoulders and up one side and i’m just about the start the first sleeve. please let me know if you have any questions or need any clarifications. i'll update this comment once i've finished crocheting the sleeves. i'm really hoping that the stitch adjustments i did in the last row don’t totally screw me over, but with the way this pattern has been going im sure it'll be totally busted :)

Ok. So. I watched this 3 times before I noticed that what I thought was that hem or the bottom of the top was actually the SIDE of the top!!! How did I miss that important step? I knew I was missing something..then I noticed the pattern…😂.yeah I’m making this for someone else so I’m just going by measurements. Still…hmmm.
